Remember (and I'm as critical as any of you when I feel it justified) that Issues are FREE updates and as such we should be grateful for them - and if you look at 2009 in the round, despite the problems with MA and lack of substance in I15, by the time the end of year comes we'll have had 3 free updates, and a very big paid expansion with lots of content. That's not actually bad for an MMO with a relatively low monthly sub.
[/ QUOTE ]
I pay 130 Euro per year for playing this game in subscriptions, I would certainly not consider these updates free updates. If they were actually free, none of the money I pay would actually go to new development and only cover operational costs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well however you cut it, there's no contractual obligation for Paragon Studios to provide additional content with the sub. The point being is that there is no additional fee charged for the content we have had. -
nice idea! I love going for the Isolator so I could well be up for this
-
I think this is good for all concerned. The farmers can do what they like and their impact on the game will be heavily reduced.
I can't see it having a huge impact on the markets, and if it gets them out of the MA that'll be a good thing! -

"Power Spectrum"? That ranks with "Power and Responsibility" as the crappest issue title yet
[/ QUOTE ]
And apart from this helpful piece of feedback, would you care to share your invaluable suggestion with us?
[/ QUOTE ]
Its called an opinion, I beleive we are all entitled to one. Its also valid criticism which most businesses are happy to use, good, bad or indifferent. However being flamed/trolled by a moderator......whom do you advise?
As for what would be better, something like "Divergence" off the top of my head, and though rubbish, is more in keeping with the pithy issue names of old. "Power Spectrum" sounds weaker than coming straight out and calling it "Power Customisation", or "Yu c4n c0lor y0urz powahz blu!1!111!!"
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't thnk that you were flamed at all. I think you got exactly the response you deserved given your original comment. -

EDIT: And another thought - I wonder if we could choose invisible/no color, so Hasten could be made so much better?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well if you choose dark colours for auras they can often get lost in the background so you could probably disguise it that way but yes, I like your thought processes -

Like there was in i14? A few piddly PvP changes for a system no bugger uses anymore...
Bet you 10 million inf there will be no additional content in the form of mission, story arcs, trials or task forces in issue 16.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think to be fair to the Devs, GR deserves the content. The whole point of GR is to shore the game up against CO, and to really compete against the new hero MMOs that are imminent. To give a lot of free content just before a huge paid expansion would not be good business sense.
Arguably it would discourage existing subscribers from buying the new box and it's very important for the health of the game that as many people as possible do that.

I read it as allowing you to swap sets and AT's during the creation phase of your character, nothing more. Instead of having to go back several pages.
[/ QUOTE ]
I read it as being able to change your AT powers whilst levelling your character.
It's totally unlike Posi to mislead us of course... (war walls coming down, being able to damage the environment etc - both of which were technically true but not what we expected and very limited)
So my guess is if you create a blaster (for the sake of argument an Elec/Energy) and at lvl 34 you decide that you wish you'd taken Energy/Elec you could swap the power sets within the AT.
I don't think you could go from being an Elec Blaster to an Elec Tank tho -

They will be aiming for GR to launch around or just after the time that CO goes live.
[/ QUOTE ]
In which case that would mean that i16 will be here soon, as they said it would arrive before GR and CO has a release date of 4/09?
[/ QUOTE ]
Originally I think GR would have come first, but they dropped a clanger by letting the news slip prematurely. Then CO announced they were putting back to September - so GR is almost certainly ready to test now, and they have time to tweak it but can divert a lot of resources to I16 as a kind of double whammy to welcome Champions Online. -
[ QUOTE ]
i find it unlikely that we'll be playing GR on live this year to be honest, so when was the last time we were given all the info so long before even beta testing.
[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]
Given the increased number of staff @ Paragon and the abysmal decline of the content/issue quantity can presume that that they either a working on improving COH, or are in fact; as the Talos Island conspiracy theorist would have us believe, working on CoH 2. Lets be honest the Last 4 issues have been around about the D- mark So what can we expect?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm reading your post, and not quite getting where you're coming from. Going Rogue is going to be as big, if not bigger than City of Villains. It's designed to compete directly with Champions Online and keep the City of Heroes franchise fresh and attracting new players.
Several people have tried to explain that to you and yet you seem wilfully oblivious to the fact. However, whether you choose to believe it or not, Paragon Studios are staking the future of their product on this expansion and have invested very heavily in it. If that's not good enough for you, I'd suggest Horses and Water and Not Drinking may be appropriate analogys. -

I guess it depends on how you interpret Machiavelli's writings. Personally I think he's very misunderstood and labelled as 'evil' when he was simply very honest about what power would cost you.
But sure, sounds like a good enough name to me.

Machiavelli was the ultimate pragmatist, and way ahead of his time in terms of political writings. The Prince should be required reading for every school kid! -
