  1. Ok, I'm slightly insulted.

    Alright, a full body then...

  2. Graver... I love you. Let's make beautiful art babies together XD

    Okay, few things:

Note the feet: I'm supposing you don't want him standing with his feet outward sideway. Try drawing rectangular 3D cubes for feet if that helps. You want the feet sort of coming at you at an angle.

The biceps (the muscle that connect your elbow to your shoulders) are too far from the upper body. Place them closer.

Finally, the arms (from the elbow to the hands) should be bigger.

    Keep at it, dood.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I need to correct...

Feet are not cubes. Feet are wedges. The body is composed of geometric shapes, yes, but not cubes. Wedges, cones, triangles, bread boxes, egg shapes... yes. Cubes...no.

Besides that, the drawing a body, even a cartoony one, is difficult because to do so properly, an artist has to understand the concept of three dimensional space and how the figure changes with the perspective placed on it.
  4. Much better, much better sense of space. Nice job
  5. I'm dead serious when I say your sketches are absolutely gorgeous. It's always a battle to take the life you breathe into a sketch and push it into a finished piece I had to repaint Rowr's commission for that reason and I was already 75% done at the time I realized it wasn't working.
  6. *licks the piece, smearing the watercolors*

    Erm...

    Rawr. Love it.
  7. Alex, I hate to say it but... I liked the sketch better. It was so full of life and energy... I suffer the same problem taking sketches to finished product so it's an easy thing to recognize. I adored the way that the gryphon's feet were sketched in the initial piece... it was great. The colors in the finished piece are nice too, I just feel like its missing some element of vivaciousness from the sketch.

The reason I asked is because I went through the portfolio to which he linked and didn't see anything that really stood out as objectionable. It's possible I didn't pay close enough attention.

I was also wondering if you objected due to the content of the site as a whole, not that artist in particular. That would be understandable, but if that was the case then I'd think anything posted at Deviant Art would fall under the same category. I come across quite a bit of sexually charged imagery and nudity there just casually following links to different sections.

    [/ QUOTE ]

DevArt has at least large parental warning signs on nudity. You can't see any nudity if you aren't logged in. They make the attempt to be professional from the getgo. If you list yourself as as an adult then yes, the images will appear. If I was logged in at work, and clicked a DevArt link, then yes, I am at fault. However, all I asked for is some warning prior to clicking on that particular link, that there is NOT SAFE FOR WORK material.

Not safe for work material does not stop at erotica. It includes gore, violence, etc. It's pretty common sense that if you were to link to a site with scads of dead and decaying human corpses, you would probably put an advisor on that link. Just saying....

I do not have a bias against dead or decaying bodies. Nor do I have one against zombies. I like zombies... I'm ok with erotica... but not zombie erotica...

    I'm rambling...the end.
  9. Holy cats Crimson I dunno how I missed all your inky goodness but dear god, watching you on DevArt and lovin on the Mistress Vine piece. Wish I could ink like that #_#
  10. Diggin your sketches, a lot, both here and on your site. Keep it up

Having been around some colorful people in my life, transformation from one thing to another, specifically that site, is a fetish. His regular portfolio is fine, but the first one was still not work safe :P

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you saying that a site can be NSFW purely on the basis of being centered around someone's fetish? So if I had a book fetish and linked to a site that showed....big piles of books, books with bookmarks, books in disarray, pages torn out, etc. then I'd be obligated to post NSFW?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The question isn't what the fetish is, it's the content of the site.
Neko's been caught tossing out URLS with blatantly full blown nudes before, and the posts removed before...

If I was at work at someone looked over my shoulders to a quote about removing panties next to an image of a cat thing pulling at her panties, even in a thumbnail, I could be fired.

Everyone here has been very professional and polite about putting NSFW on their imagery and sites where appropriate. I've done it in my links as well where appropriate.

I'm not offended by the site... I good handful of my artist friends do erotic work. It's their thing.

I guess the better question is, why link up to a friend's site with questionable material, when they have a professional site that's well done, with much better work?

    Yeah I know...weird..piece of information... >_> Anyways.
  14. *smirk* Happy Bday from the Goat...
  15. Brandon, that Lightspeed/Warp Speed piece is so freaking awesome.

I can't wait to see what you do with the Goat XD. Now all I need is a scanner that works and my graphix programs back on this honkin machine and I'll be set
  16. It absolutely does, someone gave me a few bucks the other day, helped defray my cost of Norton Ghost.
  17. I don't have Illustrator at this point, which is what I use to ink with, so I may have to do some traditional inks for a change OR with the method I've been trying out in Photoshop. Sorta sketchy ink, the kind that's on TA's commission....

We'll see. I need to get work done. Bills to pay and food to buy, ya know
  18. Bones gallery is NSFW. Please note that before posting work like that. It's a fetish site.
  19. PC is alive with new hard drive for now. No recovered files yet, must wait until my friends get back from the East Coast.

    The horror?

    NO GRAPHIX PROGRAMS YET.

    *shuffles around for her CDs*
  20. Thanks everyone. I'm not a technophile in the least. All I know is that the Raid Drivers are supposedly the ones that caused the problem, and that as of now, they've eaten themselves utterly due to whatever reason they did such. Computers and I have a love and hate relationship. I'll let folks know how things turn out as the develop. After I finish up with Rowr's painting, I'll try to load my scanner onto my laptop so I can scan at least with this machine.

Again thanks for all the advice and support. You guys are great
  21. My PC died utterly last night. My friend had built it for me with a RAID5 Setup, which ate itself last night, literally. My BIOS doesn't even detect the drives, only my old backup drive. So today I'm going to go out and install a new hard drive and install windows on that... that's the good news.

The bad news is that all of my commission work, my digital files are as of now, considered lost. It means to me that I've lost up to 15 years worth of work I had scanned in, all of my reference (morgue) files...

So I wont know how much I've lost or not lost until my friend gets back from the East Coast on the 22nd.

This does NOT affect TA's commission, or anyone elses commissions that are in the works.

Fallen Skye, I've lost your files (for now)... I have the prints of your first piece, but will wait until the machine is revived to hopefully get back Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend for you. I will send that one seperately to your address at no extra cost.

I am currently on my MAC laptop, and painting Rowr's commission.

Commissions will not stop, things are just a bit up in the air as of currently.

    Thanks for your patience everyone.

    a new look?~

    I like both >_>
  23. Rowr, I'll get in contact with ya

The move is complete. My first solo show is up at the Neighborhood Cup cafe and life is good. Now to finish up commissions. Woo. Thank you all for your patience, kindness, and TIGER LOVE *stares at Rowr*... stuff like that...

    Arr.

Rambling. Going now. Have some animation homework to nibble on until I get back with TA's commish, Bayani's, Rowr's, and White Peregrine's.
