...And we once again find you spamming the forums with some off-topic blather which centers on yourself.
[/ QUOTE ]
Here's your problem, Skippy: discussion of various task forces, the Arachnos mace, et al is not off topic discission. All of these things are actually in the game, unlike PostKount's List Of People Whose Opinions He Is Keeping Track Of.
If you regard people discussing in-game issues as attempts to draw attention to themselves, then I guess we'd better shut these forums down, because all anyone here is attempting to do is draw attention to themselves, right? That is a laugh-out-loud funny supposition you got going on there.
If you continue to subject yourself to my posts, you have only yourself to blame because we have mechanics in place ensuring that you never have to read another one of my posts. Use that tool, or stop QQ-ing, or preferably both. I have no sympathy for you whatsoever.
Now, if you have proof that [for instance] my Bane Spider does not actually have the Arachnos mace or that I have not run the TF in question, I invite you to post it. Until you do, I regard the rest of this as the most baseless - and laughable - ad-hominem balderdash.
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't really read the above, but I just thought I'd post to let everyone in the thread know just how much "I don't care" In case any of you forget, don't worry, I'll be back to re-affirm my position periodically. -

If anything Twixt says is remotely true, it shows how sad the PvP arena is - people only willing to fight eachother under previously agreed upon terms - a gentleman's shake - apprently over react when they can't win.
Thats IF what twixt said is true.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's sad?!!
My favorite part of this study is that, the professor had to actively instigate the aggression, because in his own words, the players when left to their own devices, were insufficiently aggressive, and instead stood around chatting amicably. -

For a long term souce of this kind of info, bookmak this site : http://cityofheroes.wikia.com/wiki/City_of_Heroes_Wiki
It'll tell you everything you need to know about a given zone, including the zones that link directly to it. (I know I've used it for that very same purpose)
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't bookmark that site, that's the old one which isn't being updated anymore.
The correct url is http://ParagonWiki.com
[/ QUOTE ]
Lol well not only did I not notice that the Wiki link had already been posted in the thread previously, I also posted an obsolete link *shakes head* critically failtastic. -

Oh and all of yours are clearly very insighful.
Not one of those has a ALL CAPS title, or similar attempt to grab attention.
You Maam are a pot!

Not that her inability to simply stop posting in the thread she cares so little about hadn't already cemented the fact, but

I PvPed in zone with Twitx for over a year, I know exactly what occured and also have had the record chat feature on to verify any broadcast chat. FYI the arena is not the only test of PvP skill LOL.
Get a clue because apparently you do not have one on this subject.

If you truly have records of the broadcast chat, POST THEM.

Indeed. Perhaps then we'll able to determine why he even bothered to whip out his e-peen. -

An amazing PvPer based on what assessment?

twixt's original thread at the time received well over 300 pages ...
this one has gotten up too around 12 and twixt has been gone for at least a year .
that basically speaks for it self.

some people are just padding their post count... theres only 1 person in here who is all this serious buissness >.> i wont say who.

old is old pwnz is old.
far as my post count yup it goes to show i have better things to do than spend all day on the forums.
i rarely visit these forums because mainly people write the dumbest stuff or just complain all the time .
only thing worth reading are the guides and that's a stretch.

It is actually quite saddening to me that you refrain from posting in this section for the most part yet one of the few times you see fit to throw your hat into the ring it's with an uninspired and quite standard "I am teh superior to forumerz"
The only thing the popularity of these several discussions is an indication of is the fact that most people don't particularly like:
[*]Jerks [*]Academic dishonesty[*]Yet more "the internet is evil! I have proof!" sensationalism
Nowhere does it indicate his PvP skills unless your argument is that one merely needs to become mildly notorious as a jerk to be considered a successful PvPer. -

If I were to go to Denny's and they got my order wrong, I'd signal the server, explain the problem and she'd take it back to the kitchen to either fix the order or redo it entirely, and it would be done without any kind of fuss (assuming it was both a legitimate complaint on my part and that I was polite and respectful about it).
Is it really too much to ask of gaming companies in general for, at the very least, service that I would expect at a damn Denny's?
[/ QUOTE ]So you're saying you want NCSoft to "spit in your food"? Honestly, no matter if you are right and completely respectful/polite, you can't predict a server or cook getting annoyed at having to redo an order and giving you a little "surprise".
[/ QUOTE ]
What the heck are you talking about? I know this is an attempt to be cute, but if we follow your perversion of the analogy, we'd have Cryptic deliberately bugging or possibly banning his account for daring to complain about the chat bug.
It's really quite simple. He's paying for a service. The service is legitimately not satisfactoriy (regardless of how you play it down, the chat bug is not "working as intended") and therefore it is the provider's responsibility to fix it, or provide some some sort of (canned even) customer service response and ultimately fix it. -

I like how LivingHellfire and Samuel_Tow are having a perfectly polite conversation about their discontent with something and people come rampaging in to comment on something already addressed as though LivingHellfire just slaughtered their kitten.
You all amuse me so much more than you could ever possibly realize.

My dog, Liberty, passed away today, on my birthday of all days. She'd often sit in the room where I played online, watch TV, play console games, etc, either with head on my leg, or just hoping I'd drop her some potato chips. She was 2 weeks short of being 10 years old, her birthday being July 4, 1999, hence her name. If you have pets, right now, go give them a hug, a pet, a treat/cookie, whatever, and love that you have them now, because the next time you drop some potato chips, and no one comes running in to munch them off the floor, your heart, like mine, will feel that much more broken.

It's a great example of Vahz aggression.
It's not a good example of any other kind.
[/ QUOTE ]
My point was that it's not even a good example of that since I can supply endless screenshots of that not happening. This may very well have been a "one-off" bug that was saved precisely because it was so unusual, but is now being trotted out as universal proof that mobs are insufficiently aggressive. -

Hold on. sorry if I wasn't clear. I have no problem with an entire spawn not ALWAYS aggroing.
But . . . This = not right.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll concede that THAT...is not right.
[/ QUOTE ]
And THAT is pretty typical of mob aggressiveness.
So what can we conclude from this . . .
[/ QUOTE ]
We can conclude nothing since I do not rcognize this statement:

And THAT is pretty typical of mob aggressiveness.

With its single example of proof as fact. -
I'll vote yea only if both options are available. Why only please some of the people when you can concievably please them all.

It always seems to me that the point of being a superhero is that you can walk through a hail of bullets, route a small army, and slug it out one on one with a pagan deity dressed in your pajamas if you so-choose. Adding armour seems superfluous unless you're going for either a batman style Badass Normal character. Or a powered-armour type. Wearing a bullet-proof vest, and padding just doesn't seem like it would significantly improve Wonder WOman's survivability.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, sure, if a game character's origin story is that of a supertype blessed with some kind of invulnerability, fine, all they have to worry about is public decency laws in Paragon or the Isles. Or the eye rolling of their friends as they tart around.
But there zillions of origins where no invulnerability exists. Batman or Ironman being two good examples.
Sure, Wonder Women doesn't really need armor but she does need to be taken seriously. She could wear a suit that gives her all the freedom of movement she needs without being puerile. The suits that martial artists wear address all this quite well.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think that when Wonder Woman punches would be villains in the throat, the difficulty they experience breathing quite probably convinces them of her seriousness, and additionally distracts them from any moral assumptions they might have been making about her attire.
Additionally, I believe that when she's clearing the streets of thugs by the truckload and occasionally saving the world, it makes civillians and city officials somewhat less prone to disregard her seriosness as a superhero. -

Not that I disagree... but what brought this on? This thread is a non sequitir.
[/ QUOTE ]
This thread was brought on by a desire for fun. It was my only motivation. I think it will be a fun thread, and it has been already. Besides, after hearing for ten thousand times in the forums that most of the girls are really guys, I wanted to disagree. Most don't seem to be to me, or at least a big percentage don't seem to be.
[/ QUOTE ]
Admittedly I am contributing quite highly to the number of girl characters with a guy player. Just under half of my characters are gemale. Then again, it is a role playing game, and I never found the interest in playing a bunch of carbon copy characters. Plus female Heroes and Villains are interesting to me.

All of my characters are female. Every. Single. One. -

To be fair, a lot of other MMOs are basically a mad dash to the end-game... gotta level up to the cap quick so you can get to the good content, kit yourself out with the good gear, see the good stuff.
New players may not realize that CoH spreads out the good stuff instead of loading up the back end. They're just trying to get through the slow, boring, grindy stuff they assume is the only alternative, so they can play the end-game that they assume is where the fun really is.
Not that I'm justifying the behavior, just offering up a possible explanation.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, of course, it's not the newbie's fault, it's the jaded vet's fault for encouraging that behaviour rather than dissuading it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup I love nothing better than standing in Atlas Park telling those new people to farm because it is fun. Only reason I still pay my subscription fee, I just love this feature of the game. I sit on my Fire/Kin and tell them it is the only way to get all the good stuff.
Yup...
All of us vet players' faults... That's all we do...
(Honestly I think farming is the most boring aspect of the game, no matter if it is on a lowbie or a farming toon. But farming has to be done to keep up the market, if farming dies, so does the market. I believe power leveling has more of an impact though on a new player, taking a new player and getting them levels with 0 work is even worse. I do have a Fire/Kin, he does have all that good stuff, I do farm frequently, but I do NOT tell others to farm when they ask me "how do I level faster?")
[/ QUOTE ]
Dude I have to find you in game. I have an Ice tank I've been trying to level forever. She's fricken killing me! -

So all these people who are coming back after spending 4 years gone, will find their characters wiped... no thanks. The way they do it now is fine. People need to remember that there are near-infinite ways to get your ideas onto the screen. Just use em.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, the characters wouldn't be wiped. A name purge is when the character's name is no longer exclusive to the character. If your name was "aseorihaweproiaipwore", you could come back and have your name just as it was. But if your name was, say, "Zephyr," someone could take it, and then you'd get a free name change if you did return - if nobody took it, you'd still have it. And even at four years, it would only be up to level 40 - the only people who would have their 50s' names made available would be people who had quit right after joining the game. Do we really need to cater to them? Hell, just wiping names that had been gone for five years would be a huge change in and of itself.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure they already did/are doing some variation of this. -

I just tried to make a new character to team up with a new character of my fiances and in short I couldn't find an available name. Literally.
We just spent more then an hour looking for names and logged off out of shear annoyance.
At some point something is going to need to be done to free up some names and doubly so if we want new people to be able to come to the game because the situation as it stands is absurd.
[/ QUOTE ]
1) My memory is fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure steps ahve already been taken to free up names that are not being actively used by players
2) How do you know you're not just picking the names of players who are actively running around? (not to mention names to which they have more claim having thought of them first)
2.5) Also, It's difficult to judge the veracity of your claim without knowing which names you were attempting. What if you were choosing unimaginative "dime a dozen" names? -

Also, I would like to point out that from what I can see, the Super Science booster does not include Speed Suits.
Therefore, the booster is officially EPIC FAIL.

What's a "speed suit"?
