Not really, just means you're more comfortable talking to your friends who you know and trust. Which is fine.

Most nerds are like that - I know I am definitely. Certainly in real life situations. For instance my wife has a LARGE family, and at the regular (read near weekly) parties they have (hell it's an excuse to have a few bevvies!) I tend to stay in the background.

When I'm with my wife/friends/SG/VG however I'll talk her/their ear(s) off and have no problem holding my own in conversations. It's what you were saying earlier about zones of comfort, which I thought was spot on. Some days the zone is smaller than other days.


But generally I think we're getting too bogged down in the definition of what does or does not constitute a clique.

Well you know my feelings on this, as we had a chat last night. But to re-iterate my feelings on my thread yesterday, I feel exactly the same, as I'd noticed it myself, independantly, so it must be happening.

The community has taken a downturn for the worse since I took my break 4 months ago, just prior to I6 coming in. It seems less friendly than before, and people are more willing to jump down people's throats nowadays, which definitely wasn't the case before CoV came out.

Tis good to be back. Have to say though I've noticed a change in the mood of the community since I've returned, which tbh has taken a slight turn south.

A pity, but maybe people are generally just roleplaying their villains too much

Ok, so I got suckered in with CoV sitting on the shelf looking all lonesome at £19.99. So I thought I'd take it home and make it feel loved.

The free 3/4 days over Valentine's weekend made me realise how much I miss the game, so I've made the decision to get CoV and see what it's like, as well as pick up my heroes again.

For those that knew me (well it's only been 3 months since I left) Quake 4 turned out to be a huge bust - CTF wasn't and isn't being supported widely by the GSPs in the UK, so I was spending most of my time idling in IRC with nothing to do. My clan even gave up on the idea en masse and took up CS:S (which I'll be playing along with them, but won't be taking v. seriously - come on, it's CS fgs! ).

So I'm back, so if you see me online give me a shout and say hello again
