There's a tendancy to vote for the sluttiest/most revealing costume because the voters are thinking with....something other than their heads. ... I would sooner have it judged on merit, creativity, and workmanship, as well as resemblance to the character.

I whole-heartedly agree. At least we know the Devs are jusging on a fair set of criteria, which are strictly defined in the contest guidelines:
All contestants will be judged on costume creativity, difficulty (intricacy of outfit), and best re-creation of costume.
Notice, no "hawtness" in there. Please let's leave it to the Devs! -
Some people also look a lot younger than they are. I've been called everything from 16 to 23, and I'm 26.

There were a lot of great entries that looked bang-on, and unfortunately most of those people aren't getting any kudos. AWESOME JOB to the peeps who managed to perfectly replicate their ingame costume. And some of those couldn't have been easy. Well done, all of you.
As far as cookie girl, you kindof have to expect that. Women who are very attractive get attention no matter where they go. And while no one's been rude so far, there's no way to know how she takes it. Hopefully she's just flattered. : ) -

*squeeks* Thanks!! Honestly I'm amazed (but thrilled none the less) that I won best hero! It was truly a labor of love, I spent hours and hours on it. Each piece looks good individually, but it didnt come together the way I wanted it to. Especially because Bubs is so curvy (hips, chest & shoulders maxed, waist minned, so she's very very hour-glassy) and that was totally NOT portrayed in my costume (that's mostly the fault of the rib/torso piece). And the helmet looks *huge.* I was so excited with the individual pieces, but when I saw the photos of the entire costume, I thought "okay, well I look silly and have no chance of winning, but at least I accomplished something." Maybe I'm just being too self-critical.
I also feel like an idiot because I didn't take a screenshot of Bubs in an office door mish. Everyone else's photo and screenshot have a similar background, and I didn't even think of that. (Duhr.) I just grabbed my favorite screenie of her and turned it in.
Thank you for the kudos! ^_^ I'm glad people liked the plaque and the "badge earned" thing.. I was determined to have that in the photo. There were other locations that I thought would look cool too (a large concrete block thingie with a plaque, and a statue) but I couldn't get to either location before dark. I spend all the daylight hours at work, and didn't finish the costume until two days before the due date, so I couldn't even do it on the weekend! I was really fortunate to be able to call a coworker and ask him to bring in his camera. And interestingly enough, he thought "Any game that's good enough to get someone to spend this much time on a costume, and wear it AT WORK, has to be good!" So he bought the game that night, and plays now too!! ^_^ -

Congratulations to the winners!
Darn, I wish I could make one for my character... A full suit of body armor won't be easy, though.

Tell me about it! (Bubbleyumm reporting)
Special thanks to Liz, my Dad, Joe, Jan and Bait, none of whom read the forums ^_^
There were some amazing costumes! Even people who weren't selected, just some AWESOME stuff! Congratulations to everyone, your costumes looked great!! ^_^ -
I must stress a point: While costumes are my favorite feature, and are what got me hooked on the game in the first place, badges come in a very close second. It's just that I have fun with costumes on all of my toons, whereas I only have one badge-collector toon. It's more effort to have more than one than I can deal with.

I hate using the mouse, and avoid doing so at all costs.
That being said, I don't ever use alt, shift or ctrl +number. I use the main tray for all powers that need to be executed on a regular basis. Powers that I want to use, that don't fit in the main tray, go in the second tray only if I need to be able to see when they are recharged. All second-tray powers get bound to letter keys. So what I'm saying, I guess, is that I work around the system in my own way.
What I'd love to see is "reset key to default." Who knows, maybe this already exists. For example, "/unbind K" would reset K to default. I'd love that. Because now that I don't have to use /bind enter beginchat <border blah><color blah><bgcolor blah> ... I can't just reset it to /bind enter beginchat. I get an error saying I have to put in SOME kind of value.
But I dont want to reset ALL my binds, because I have a lot of them. Resetting one key at a time would be nice.
Sorry.. straying off topic. -
Not sure if this has been brought up, but:
LFSG. Kind of like LFT.
I used to have an SG, but all of the original members (except myself and one other) have since quit the game. I tried to form another SG with just myself and the remaining member, but she's been on less and less (going a month or more without logging in.)
I tried joining another existing SG, but was ignored by all of the members except the one person who invited me.
So maybe a recruitment center, or a bulliten board with active stats on the SGs? I know people post on the forums "Our SG is recruiting" - but how do I know if it's the right SG for me? What time are their members active during the day (or night?) How often to SG members appear on a team together, and for how long?
I know, this is likely an impossible feature, requiring far too much data mining and blahblahblah. But hey, you asked. -
Actually, only one other person who actually plays CoH at all has agreed to join. Most of the people who expressed interest are just friends. ^_^
Once you sign up I will give you access to post in the Heroes forums. -
First, let me clarify. I'm not trying to troll or spam, so if advertising an RP on my own forum is bad, I don't mind this thread being deleted : )
So. Role Playing.
I do some RPing in game, depending on the toon. A friend and I have a set of toons we created specifically for RPing. Our main toons, however, are just our regular selves. So sometimes I get to RP, and sometimes not.
It's not enough. I've been craving RP for some reason. Probably because my weekly D&D game is on hiatus until my brothers get matching schedules, so we can all play. So no RP for Kelly. I'm jonsing.
And this forum doesn't really click as an RP very well, for some reason. There's no cohesion, little interaction. Why a forum at all? Well, I spend 40 hours a week at work. I can't play CoH at work. But I can post on forums.
So I've dedicated a whole block of my own forum (which is rarely otherwise used) for a Heroes RP. It's not specifically CoH, however so far that's what it's based on, for simplicity's sake.
There's no dice rolling, no stats, right now it's just a freeform RP. More explanation can be found on the forum itself. Interested? Cool.

Thanks for reading! : ) -
As a blaster who is often forced to adventure alone, I must submit my deepest thanks to my fellow heroes, who often rush to my aid when in trouble.
When I am close to death, and villains still pound upon me, thank you Healer, who rushes in and restores my health, so that I might continue to dispence justice.
When I have accidentally run in to a villain I can't handle, and run screaming from him, thank you Hero, who jumps in his path and makes him leave me alone.
When I have the pleasure of adventuring the city streets as a member of a team, thank you teammates, who work for the whole team. Thank you tankers who wait for blasters to rest after a harsh battle. Thank you healers for the constant heal spells. Thank you scrappers who protect ranged attackers. Thank you controllers for crowd control. Thank you, all you thoughtful teammates, who play with courtesy and respect.
There are some not-so-savory characters in Paragon City, even amongst our own ranks. Unfortunately the bad get more attention than the good. I just want to let it be known that I appreciate the good out there.
Thank you, friends.
