I remember an old bug that stopped XP from being counted to the end of the mission.
Thought if this is the error or not I have no idea. -

Hmm sure it's that he's not getting XP and not that he had his chat options set wrong and just not seeing it.
For example had clicked on the help tab and don't have it on Global or that Global has the rewards listed. -
If your new to the game or just New to Masterminds. Wait get used to the game first.

We have one of the best and Friendliest Forum/Game communities about. I'm sure if you ask in game to be shown the ropes a Vet would be willing to mentor you. -

How are the instances handled, WoW has the Tank,Healer,DPS play..I would guess that is not the case here?
Teams can be any mix of Types and powers.
Not only do each AT have an effect but each Power has a secondary effect.
A simple Tanker build has Gauntlet that adds Taunt to their attacks. A Fire Tanker would have extra Damage to the attacks where an ICE Tanker would slow foes down.
This makes the Tank/Healer/DPS triad kind of not important. A team of nothing but Controllers can kick as much **** as a team of all Blasters.
So yes you don't need a "HEALER" or a "TANKER" they are very nice to have but a good team with good builds of any AT and Power mix can really take down foes. -

Hmm I think everyone got your answers for you already.
Main thing in this game are the stories. Enjoy some of the adventures you come across.
Tasks Forces and Strike Forces (villain side) can last from one Hour to Hours depends on the team you have. Some even find the fastest way to do something and clear a few in under 30 mins. (note that not easy!)
Missions from contacts mostly take place in buildings and can be done Solo or in teams. Now here's something people haven't said. YOU can turn off your XP gain to not out level a contact. Or to gain extra Influence/Infamy(Game cash). So you can stop leveling at 20 or 30 for as long as you like.
Or put it simply....
DON'T RUSH TO 50! take your time enjoy the ride. New content is added often and at random levels. The latest are missions for level 20 involving clones!
Going Rogue going to be new at level 1 and up. So unlike WoW we get new content all over the place. -
Her Ghostly laugh might just be on the verge of sounding insane at the very least evil. However she was focused on getting her revenge on the Possessed Scientist that harmed her big brother.
She flew down to hover near Camouflage her Summoned spirit warriors were following... well except the Spectral terror who faded back into the Abyss. "Let see if they like this!" She let out a wail as she drew on a large number of the foes draining them of strength and then giving it to Camouflage and her troops. (Fulcrum Shift)
Micheal might also be close enough to feel the spiritual boost from the avenging spirit of Misty Sinclare.
She cast her spiritual force at one of the Scientist and his body became covered with oozing blisters. They were the result of Spectral Wounds but the effect was him screaming out in pain and firing a Dark blast at her. She felt her ectoplasm form rip as the blast passed through and wounding her.
Moving with Camouflage she reached out and took the life force of one of the foes he was fighting with directly. (Transfusion) -
I'm completely lost! Okay Got Gabriel down and out for the count and Mystic Ghost is going Vengeful spirit against the Evil Mech... I think.

Mystic Ghost appears over head her eyes scanning for her brother. Then she spotted him laying on the ground a burnt patch on his back. "GABRIEL!" She looks around and homes in on the War Machine.
Once over it she summons as much power as she could "FALLEN HEROES HEAR MY PLEA! ARISE AND FIGHT FOR RIGHT ONCE MORE!" Spirits of Three Longbow officers appear perhaps victims of the Titan's first assault. Right away the Longbow spirits started attacking blasting the mech with Lighting and energy blasts.
"That's not all Folks this ghost got more up her sleeve! Spectral Terror I summon you from the abyss!" With that the shade manifested sending horrors into the minds of it's targets.
Then she summoned the Phantasm who also started attacking the Mech.
Her hair was going wild with her rage at seeing her brother wounded she drew from the Mech itself energy and adding it to the spirital force she summoned (Siphon Power). She also focused on a Radiation blasting Scientist. A soon his face drew a blank expression and he sent a blast into another Scientist his mind now under her control. (Deceive) -
Teleportation was always unsettling for him. But he recovered and once his eyes adjusted to the light or lack of in the building he went behind some crates. Once there he reinforced his mental cloaking.
Then he looked again and spotted a group standing in the connected hallway he looked at Quex and motions to the Hall and then held up five fingers. A grin appeared on his face and he moved from behind the crate and cast his mind forward.
All five went limp as there heads drooped down and they fell asleep. "Mass Hypnosis weak so disturb them will wake them but they be asleep for a few minutes." Dreg whispered just loud enough for the others to hear. -

The sound of the Energy weapon from the Titan made him turn to look. However he turned at the wrong time and a Possessed scientist took the advantage and he got hit in the back with a blast of radiation. "AGHHHHHH"

What Do I REALLY USE!
Well... Trench coat I use alot easy get... No wings don't play alot of angels and demons so... Um boxing gloves?
Really these are small potatoes I don't want to rush ahead to get the all the goodies because some of the Rewards are small things I never use.
Others are just a Free Respec useful yeah ... but not always considering we normally get one with each issue.
So do I want to PAY to get the next one NO. Do I need to have the next token power? Well the Buffing pets are cool but NO I do not need it. Do I want the 63 Month Rewards
Honorable Badge Inherent Power: Reveal Yes but chances are I won't use it often and can wait.
We get much better powers and goodies with the Booster packs. I rarely use the Vet rewards I have. Only one of my characters uses the Vet sprints. Now it is nice to use the Sands of Mu and the Wand/Staff in the early levels but later on they miss more then hit.
In other words Vet Rewards are cool but not GREAT. If I can get more by paying I would not spend a cent. -
On my Kin I often ask before a mission "Okay anyone don't want SB?"
But I don't always remember to hit the power. It's a tool like any other and when it's needed I'm going to boost.
On the flip side a few of my characters I request NOT to be SBed. Main reason is I don't want to be lining up a cone shot and get blasted with SB and over adjust the angle. Or if I'm on a taunter and get SBed when going into a mob and argo two groups by mistake. -
Oh forgot to mention Rotten's Mastery. His build is Willpower/Dark Melee/ Energy Mastery
Yeah kind of over kill with Regen and Recovery. When I said he was nearly unstoppable I meant it! -

"Alright I go on foot. Taking point and triggering any traps in our way. Not much can really harm me so best that way." He nodded and then walked into the portal. Once on the other side he looked around and moved to the side so not to be hit by the car once it comes through.
Then remembering his Arachnos training he started making out a perimeter moving in a steady cricle. He wasn't walking blind either he was looking at where he stepped watching for any reaction that shouldn't be. -

With that he came out of the Cathedral drawing his sword. He had no superpowers but with the intense training he gone through and trance like state he enters before a fight his reflexes were faster and sharper then normal. He rushed at a Thorn Scientist dodging a Dark Gloom blast.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us."
Saying the Lord's Prayer seemed build up his might as he sunk deeper into his fighting trance. Then he struck with a brutal Soaring Dragon attack lifting the Dark Possessed Scientist into the air.
"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."
When the Scientist hit the ground Gabriel then attacked with Golden Dragonfly using might as he screamed the last of the passage in defiance of the demonic powers.
"For thine is the kingdom,the power and the glory,for ever and ever. Amen."
He had caught a few in that Golden dragon but the one he was focused on didn't stand back up. He lifted his sword and pointed it at the horde of scientists. "I fear no evil the Lord is my shield. Bring it on you demonic possess bastards!"
She nodded "yeah good idea." fading form mortal sight she drifted out of the alley and spotted two outcasts. Reaching out she drew on there life force one in particular. He gasp and staggered then rubbed his arms (Siphon speed).Quote:Originally Posted by Liz Bathory

Welcome to the city! Like many I would say a Scrapper/Brute for the damage and defense ease.
Not only does each AT have it's own boost but each Power set has it's own secondary effect. Example Fire powers have extra damage over time where Cold powers slow foes down. So we have many possibilities for play styles.
Once you get used to the game play try as many combos and types as you like. DO not rush to the end! The fun in the City of Heroes/Villains is the journey! Explore the many story arcs as you can. You can even TURN OFF gaining Exps when ever you like to not out level a contact.

"ZOMBIE!!!" The yell came from up the steps as a civilian spotted him walking into the City hall building.
"yeah, yeah your a sharp one. Never mind calling for a hero I am one. I even been on T.V. you know I was big news when that Freakshow cut off my head." Rotten waved to the city official and then walked his way into the MAGI office.
"So what's this about a dangerous mission and life threating doom?" he asked as he shoved the remains of a triple decker cheese burger in his mouth. He looked around at those gathered "What is this some kind of Task force operation?" -
1. Name: Ron Bolton, Superhero name: Rotten Luck
2. Species: Human Zombie (Technically more of a Mummy then Zombie but still classed as such)
3. Physical: Tall, male Caucasian dressed in a long black coat.
4. Power: Due to an odd mix of magic Rotten Luck is a Zombie with a Soul. Able to regenerate damage and nearly unstoppable (Will Power Tanker). He channels the dark magic that powers him into his attacks able to absorb mater causing a decaying like effect on what he absorbs (Dark Melee).
5. Skills: Not much skill Rotten is a living... or more to the point Living dead blunt force weapon.
6. Limitations: Rotten Magical energy is mostly stored in his nervous system. As he is damaged more energy is directed to repairing him and he looses mental functions. This causes him to become more of a mindless fighting brute then a thinking entity as time goes by with out feeding. At the point of zero energy he drops dead as the corps he is only to get back up in a mindless hunger best to have extra rations for such an event.
7. Weakness: Given his nervous system acts as a battery for the magic that keeps him moving he is weak against Toxic damage.
Strength: Being dead mental attacks and Psi damage has even less effect then physical attacks.
8. Reason: Being nearly unstoppable and able to absorb and convert almost all Mater into magical energy Rotten seems to have a better chance then any to survive the Abyss. -

I agree an upgrade to the Respec system helps. I often want to edit just one power but by the time I'm done Redoing everything else I forget what I wanted to respec in the first.

Moth Cathedral
Gabriel walked into the Cathedral and after crossing his chest with a cross hand motion he headed to the confessional. He thought about the fight he had and how he enjoyed the fight. Such was not the way of a Holy warrior and he need to cleanse his soul of what he saw was his sin.

"So got any ideas how to get past the guards? I'm not the stealthy type I go in a place and use blunt force and do what I have to do. As you pointed out I'm not an inconspicuous fellow."
Heart Tree Elven forest
The Heart tree wasn't as towering as a Giant Redwood but it was massive the trunk could take up an entire half mile in diameter. The Canopy spread out like a huge umbrella among the branches were 8 truck size seeds each one was growing at a slight different the smallest was the size of a VW bug. As they came into sight one of the Seed pods fell to the ground and sprouted forming into yet another prototype Tree ship.
"By Alora's light!" It was the closes Lady Aineruda came to swearing. "I never seen anything like this before." She then turned looking for Akat "Your ship! You said it was once a tree? Could Your ship have ... spawned with the Heart Tree?" -
I sign. The Idea of expanding the time for day/night. Don't want a RL 24h time table thought again with hunting down badges that would be hard but increasing the time it takes for a game day to go by is a good idea.
