Cara's ,Burned Ice ,left eye blinked , as the bright red laser dot of a pistol sight slide across her face .....

A very ordinary looking hand held a ultra high tech handgun , the hand belonging to a equally ordinary looking man ...dressed in a tan coloured business suit , less the jacket , the undone waist coat and rolled shirt sleeves gave the impression he had just left his desk in some boring office , the small round glasses completing the officer worker picture .....

..... the other hand of this person waves a number of more unsavoury looking men into a line across the road around , to Cara's rear ,these men had the look of the Rouge isles , pure breed thugs , the huge brute in a sleeve-less biker jacket is carrying a pair of Uzi 9mm's , the others a range of large handguns and one what looked like a number of firebombs.....

a flat accented voice speaks “take a walk darling , .. ya'see i'm a big fan of the Doc's work ..and I wants to see him do some more ....”

the hand locks the red laser dot on Cara's left temple ....and its fellow pulls a heavy automatic pistol from the suit's pants waistband .......

Capt, Smyth flicked through the note he had amassed , he flinched inwardly at the printed sheets , firstly for their poor grammar , and with regret for the passing of decent handwriting .

A whole lot of nothing , only the bomb seemed to indicate a degree of though , however ,as this was the US of A , WP would not be hard to buy from any of the weapons nuts around ...but some one had wanted to destroy the body ...

Well he mused ..we can only dwell on the facts we have .. Johnovich was killed after he had accused a collection of Heroes at GG statue of being Rikti spies ...so what if one was ..then we have a motive .. and hero could get the makings of such a bomb , and a good way to avoid power effects being noticed .. also a hero would be used to sneaking into places like the hospital ..

so what do we need .. a connection to a particular Hero who was at GG that night..

Smyth stood and went to the cupboard and took out a large leather suit case , twisted a few concealed switches and removes a strange looking suit of clothes and a bag of stranger tools ...

“now where is the Late Mister Johnovich's address “.......


(( looking in home for any link to a active hero type in last few days , and places Johnovich may have visited recently , and photos , check camera , computer et al ... also hope to meet fellow investigators ..))

The Longbow Sergeant finished reading the report , a frown settled on her face , “this smells like a Vaz zombie ..”..she mused again on the reports details ..why would the Freaks want Medi-Ports when they had built in revive systems , it did not fit their nature to have such a health plan ..and such a major investment of personal .. Shad00w should have been a top ranking Lt at least , not some jobbing raid leader ..and if this Slashshade meat Doc had a working prototype why take the risk of hitting a major hospital , with all its guards and hero connections. Some one was not telling all they knew ..may be that villain that got involved has a bigger hand in it ...
Speaking into the desks comms unit “ alert all agents to increase the search level on Wild Red ,make her a priority,,,,”...” and try to get another interview with Dr Edward Johnson he must know more , and he might need a friend now ..”



In a very well guarded and similarly screened bunker a pair of mismatched eye slowly opened...
“ provide the good Meat Doctor funds and materials to rebuild her arms and find her a safe work space for now , keep close track on her at all times ...” fingers pressed a selection of buttons ..”Mechano is out of it for now , the fool, the others IDed Molly.exe , Arctic Princess, Time skip ,and Wild Red ..place a bounty on their heads , not too much , enough to attract the reckless , that should keep them busy .....” ..screens flash up data , “ I will deal with the next step ...go and get it done ....”


In the back streets of Galaxy City another victim is claimed by crime , a faceless office worker fails to cross the car park to their car , the CCTV spots nothing , as the heavily glove hand crushes the windpipe , and lifts the body into the back of a green City Water and Power Dept. van ......

Capt.Smyth sat eating his second slice of breakfast toast , and putting aside his copy of the Times , picked up the local Pargon Proclaimer newspaper ..as he had been sent here to observe the American methods of dealing with Rikti raids , and how they made use of the Powered Heroes of Paragon , he felt it his duty to read their newspaper each morning .. his training cut in and he was able to speed read the pages , picking out and filing in his memory any useful facts amidst the American media cultural news fodder .

Smyths years of reading reports and documents made it impossible to miss the name of
Malcom Johnovich , the man he had seen at the Galaxy Girl Statue.. claiming every one was a Rikti spy ..A number of Hero Types had fumbled around for some time before he was carted off to the local hospital .

Death by fire bomb was not sound a common way to kill some one , as Smyth well knew ... and then there was that odd mumbler who had been hiding behind Smyth at the statue.. a puzzle .. and who better to sort it ....

Calling for his jacket , he picked up the phone and ordered a large bunch of flowers and a box of chocs ..and headed for the lifts .....

Using his new pocket telephonic communications device ((G3 I-phone )) he sent a request for records on known users of fire bombs as weapons in the Paragon area ..((ie police crime figures ,and recorded gang activity , and signature weapon use by villains )) ..

Hailing a taxi he headed for the hospital ....armed with flowers and the box of choc's .. his simple plan was to play the lost British visitor looking for his pregnant daughter ..he could later claim he got the wrong medical centre ..and once having gained access to the hospital he was well skilled at blending in and at snooping around where he should not be ... he primed his investigative skills and stepped forth ....

na .. me thinks ( yes ok i have been wrong before ) a new thread .. for Chum based gossip .. not so much IC story telling .. just hints and tag lines to set up RP at the market ... keep the IC thread as it is ...

yes i like the idea of a rumours, heresay thread ,go for it .. fully open or mod run ?

ok this is just my view .. i stand ready to be shot down in flames .... as i got the date wrong as was unprepared for the event .....



If you watched the Imps they were IC rping all the time , and they had collective plot about needing to buy a body was a nice touch .....of all those there they did as much RP as anyone ..

You did a good job as the broker , and thanks go to you for stepping up and doing that, but as you say it did tie you down to one person at a time , ...and with the number of Arachanos dressed ,on duty, guard toons around i felt as a whole it came across a bit formal and not a relaxed place of bussiness ....
i only found one of the spider toons who seemed to want to chat and that was about her uniform ....

GG works because the Char chat about stupid stuff and gossip .. . .

i think we need the Market to be the excuse to go to Chum .. but the reason to go is to relax , drop ones guard a tiny tiny bit and be social ... ok that will not work for some villian characters but then GG does not work for some heroes characters.....

we need to bring the right sort of villian along to Chum who can interact at some level .. even if its just to debate who has the best ultimae doomsday weapon , or does the crab spider cossie make your bum look big ..

so post up the next Date and i will try harder to get it right ..

i will have Mister Smyth .. a RP civilian alt version of Capt Smyth parked at GG then , this persona is more likely to be in the area ......

i was just doing a quick tidy up on my char on the union handbook wiki , when i realised i had not told you his name .. name is Capt. Smyth .. see handbook for bio ..

Molly and Wild noticed a sudden change .. the Freaks where no longer coming on and seeking to smash them to pulp , only the closest two freak continued the fight ... and with the last ounce of help from the Powersuited hero they manage to induce those two to join the heap of downed Freaks laying before them ... gasping the ladies could now see the room ...

nearly every thing was smashed .... across the room the doorway was blocked by the Rock man and Physic , the Rock man providing cover while Physic flung aid to Kata and Ed ......a last few Freaks where jumping down the hole they had made in the far corner ....

Kata toppled the last of the Freaks between her and Ed .. and with a grunt the Freak submitted to her dislocating arm lock and slumped to the floor ....

All now saw Ed ,refreshed and empowered by the others , land a rapid set of blows on Shad00w .. the massive Freak Tank took a pace back and started to laugh ....” so this form is to fragile for this world .. no matter there are other to try .... I know you now Edward ..I have tasted you ...you will be mine .... we shall met another time ....”

as Ed stepped up to strike again the Tank shuddered and froze in place .. the flames left the eyes .. the Runes dulled .....and suddenly the metal of the Tank started to rust .. Ed halted .. and the decay swept across the form in a handful of seconds ...the metal corroded and crumbled , the figure came apart in a tumble of metal tubes and linkages that broke even further as they hit the floor ...

The lighting was bad , with much of it broken ..but all would swear that for a second the shadow of the tank , cast upon the wall , remained even when its body was a crumpled pile on the floor ...

And then the room was full of Longbow troopers .. grabbing downed Freaks , asking questions and directing medics to those wounded ........

(( ok the raid has been busted .. a number of minor Freaks have escaped with some parts from the Medi-Ports ... Longbow are taking charge in the room .. you will learn from them of Slashshades escape .. they will want statements and info from all ..up to you to RP what you do there ... and what you do next... I will then do a wrap up of this section.....IF any of you want a direct follow on , OR a spin off plot line .. OR to hook this into another plot please post in the OOC thread ... other wise I plan to leave this thread there .. and let some time pass .. and then offer a idea for Freak Out 3 ...which is linked but would be a fresh start to allow anyone join in ...))

do you want the characters we plan to use for the plot at GG ...my normall GG er is not suitable for low key .... OR is the event going to be reported and we can then investigate ... also what time ?

that works for me .. but do remind us near each 1st Sat .. needs brain upgrade ..

(( okies first up as Ed has said I have let him map the last moves of the fight .. two reasons ..one as Ed was about to be tried in court I felt he should choose how he ended the fight with such a nasty villain ... , then he slept late and missed the PM .. and I had forgot when the trial was ...sooo..... secondly .. I did it so I would not seem that I set up the fight end , to suit what happens next ......BTW can I refer you all to Page 2 of the thread ...my post midway down the page ...))



in a Galaxy City penthouse , with a stunning view of a famous statue , a small blue flag flashes upon a screen , telling the owner that they have a second piece mail ..................... it simple read s............“do it now “

a finger presses a single button that shuts down and then wiped the computers memory beyond all recovery.....

a glove then covers the finger and its hand , a snap and the seal on the glove is locked .....

with a little regret the figure turns ...this had been a nice safe place to recover ..but still a debt was a debt and now it could be paid in full.......

hard to come by ...?. have you seen the devices / Traps list !!

as to head bashing read broadsword power list ..

i am shocked by the total lack of a headbutt power ...
a broken bottle power , the pool cue and pool ball powers , and the spitting strong spirits in the face power ....
do you people not watch TV ...!!

Wilds attempt to destroy the parts from the Medi_Ports was drawing too much attention from the Freaks , Molly and the powersuited Hero , both , where firing off blast and burst at the incoming waves of metal death dealing cyborg villains ..but it was never enough ,

all three of them where taking minor hits and the powersuit clad hero was tiring fast from the effects on top of his injuries that had brought him to the hospital in the first place ..... and Molly was looking worried about her ammo supply ...Wild was forced to switch to targeting the Freaks or all three where doomed ...


Fighting at the door way ,Kata , Tim and the newcomer Physic , found them selves busy covering the Rock man as he dragged the nursing staff clear of the fight , taking many hits as he shielded them with his body .....

with fewer Freaks to face those at the door had to pick where to put their effort .. help Ed , help Molly and Wild and Powersuit .. ( this would mean fighting across the room to get in range)..or focus on taking down the unengaged Freaks .....

Ed and Shad00w seemed oddly matched .. each firing off powers to counter the others , the Tank seemed tough and hard to lay a good blow upon , while Ed's rapid regn was keeping pace with the wounds he was taking .....and both where trading words as fast as fists ....

Shad00ws eye seemed to burn brighter as he waged war on Ed's body ...”awaken the beast ..foolish Doctor ..it never slept .. it waits patient , always ready to take over ....don't tell me you can not feel its joy as we fight ....... you and the beast are one ...give me your name dark one and your domination of this body will be complete.. ...the power is within me to free you from this humans restraint .....”

As Ed continued to focus his blows on Shad00ws head , one seemed to bounce the smiling metal mask to one side , and for the briefest of moment Ed saw what was inside the Tanks armoured body.........

Shad00w turned , Wild has been TPed and he could now focus on Ed , Ed fist struck down on Shad00w's torso , and the runes cut into the Tank armour glowed , adding to Ed's concern , as his fist seemed to slide off the armour without leaving so much as a a mark upon Shad00w ...


around Shad00w's feet the unholy dark mist arose ..and Ed's worries deepened as he recognised the biting of a Death Shroud

Shad00w seem to fire off some powers as runes flashed purple , red and yellow ..all the while his metal smile seemed to widen ..then his left eye of flame winked at Ed... “ well Doctor Demonkin ...time for you to show me your good moves ....let us see if we can awaken your true nature ....demon .. what was that name you went by .....?”

A thin film of green-white light rolled over the powersuit and the Hero got up , a arm pointed and a series of dimensions collapsed as Wild was teleport to the side of Molly and the powersuit clad hero....

.... from behind the opaque yellow visor a voice spoke .. “for the the One” and a near by Freak screamed as its brain was twisted by the powesuit clad heroes psychic blast ... the fight was on ...

(( ok no one stated that they called in the police , but im sure someone meant to ))

Back in the Brickstown Freakshow sewer base Slashshade's fingers finally reached a small item concealed one her belt ,

pressing it stirred her ripped off metal arms into life , most squirmed helplessly , but one responded and dragged itself back to its mistress , a jagged blade cut her bonds , and Slashshade clambered to her feet , and gathered her metal limb to her chest ...

as she slowly walked towards the control desks the sound of Longbow feet could be heard in the outer room ......

cursing all capes .. she hammered a few buttons and raced to the hatchway in the far wall , passing through she crossed the small chamber holding a very crude Freak made Medi-Port , and exited via a escape hatchway in the chambers floor ........

a twenty strong Longbow strike team entered the main room and began to gather the downed Freaks .....while the Longbow Tech team leaped upon the control desk ....

he would not call in anyone unless it got totally out of hand.. he is linked to the british army so , no way to call them in if action is on us soil ...his US contacts are more personal than offical ....He would report any event to his masters back in the UK AFTER the events ... he is very much used to working alone or as part of a small team with limited resources... normally undercover ....

i have a character that is played low powered , normally RPed as if he works with normals .. Kin/dark defender he does have good conections to military intel agencies which might be unwanted by the plot ..and another who has extensive sneaky powers ment/storm controller both are in the 20 to 30 level range ... and i have a ton of ten ish alts .. (atlites .... save me )

Freaks by their very nature make poor guards , and the four covering Molly and Wild where no exception , all were doing their own thing as Wild made her move.....

Wild got off her two powers before the Freaks reacted , meaning only one of them got to slice a chunk of flesh from her body as she sped past towards Shad00w ....

Freaks being freaks all four had turn to try to hit the speeding woman leaving Molly space to operate from ... with her gun reclaimed Molly reached the fallen hero , spun around to cover the Freaks and ..

Damm bad luck time , M'lady Fate's mood had dropped off there was blanket jamming across all the link frequencies .. very crude the work of the Freaks ....

Molly just caught a glimpse of Spookie the Sneak-Freak as he vanished behind his cloaking ... so far with Wild holding the four guard Freaks and Sdah00ws focus ...... and the rest of the freaks where still moving Medi-Port parts to the floors new opening , Spookie was the only loose gun ...

Kata ran faster than she normal managed .. good medicine this ... , and via heightened vision spotted a Fellow costume clad female hero following her down the stairs ......Pelting into the lobby outside the Medi-Port rooms .... she beheld Ed and Tim fighting the Armoured Doors holding them from the the battle now starting on the other side ......

Ed's whole body groaned with the strain , but the doors were made to stop just this event .....
Then Ed felt a oversized metal gloved finger tap him on the shoulder ...

turning he came face to face with a seven foot tall figure of rock......a deep gravelly voice said “ may I help ? “.. and gently but firmly pushed Ed to one side ........

Two golden metallic gloves replaced Ed's hands on the door , the Rock man's ..slowly but with growing force , the gloved hands parted the doors , at a foot apart the Rock man gave a mighty shove and with a scream of rupturing hydrolic rams the doors sprung open .....

The open door way was filled with flying Freak launched weapons and ammunition , pelting the Rock man , however he seemed build to take it as it was the sawblades and like that bent and broke upon his rocky form ...

Inside the room was a chaos of figures.....

from the door way , to the right a round hole in the floor that a number of Freaks where loading with Medi-Port parts ....
down the long right hand wall the trolleys , and medical equipment was scattered across the floor .....
to the left just by the doors the captive nursing staff lay on the floor , bound hands and feet .....

Along the left wall where the Medi-Ports had stood where now piles of dismantled bits , half was down Molly stood guard over a Powersuit clad hero , and was firing a short burst at a Swiper-Freak who was taking too much interest in her and the fallen hero ....

scattered across the room More Freaks , some bring weapons to bear at the Heroes , others moving Medi-Port parts , and a small wall of Freaks lined up in front of the doors who had just unloaded their ranged fire power at the Rock Man ....

near centre of the room no eye could miss the massive form of Shad00w , the metal face's vile grin , the flaming eyes , the dark mist around his feet , the void power coming from his armour's runes as it deflected the best of Wilds efforts to slow him down , for it was apparent that her best efforts had but held Shad00w attention....not harmed him ..... and it had drawn a dire reply ....

Wild wounded from Freak slicing , and hammer blows was once more trapped by Shad00w's tentacle magics .. .. Shad00w brought down his neatherworld powered fists upon Wild .. a pitiful scream passed her lips , as her body tried to be thrown across the room , but the holding tentacles added a spine twisting agony to her pains .... for the moment unconsciousness claimed Wild .. .. as her blood was sprayed across the rooms floor ........ but had she kept Shad00w busy enough time for the others .........


Molly spotted a row of buttons on the belt unit of the fallen Powersuit clad hero , one was a small green cross ............

i can be flexable on day ..best if its a fixed regular day

Err let me think ...dur YES ... post some idea of what sort of char you would like and if a level is needed ....Alt is my middle name ....

any villian SG with a Mercy TP want to offer safe passage services via base portal to fort darwin ... might get a few new members that way ... just a thought .. would help mid levels get to Mercy a fast and easy way ....
