That's weird, I actually tried getting on Test, but it was the same there as well.
-
Quote:I will have to do that when I get home then, thank you Je_Saist.Robo: right off hand, there's something /really/ screwy with your computer then.
***
Okay, here's what I'd like you to do.
First: go here and follow the instructions on this webpage: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/0...elcome-screen/
Second: Reboot the computer:
as the computer starts up, start tapping the F8 button.
Yes, I'm sending you into safe mode.
According to this post: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...2&postcount=11 :: you are using Vista/Win7.
You should be presented with click-login with your username.
There may also be another login labeled Administrator
If there is, I want you to login as Administrator. If there is not... go ahead and just log-in with your existing username.
***
Now, logged in as (hopefully) the admin in safe mode, NOW try to go open up the ftp://ftp.coh.com/support_tool/netinfotool_allOS_USEU.exe file.
If you still get an error where the program will not launch, your computers ability to understand binary executable files is damaged. -
Quote:That's the problem, when ever I tried to open it, it kept giving me a list of programs to view it in first.Have you been able as yet to run the network tool? It would help if you could. I suspect Support will want you to.
That and I even tried making a new folder for it and then it kept saying I was using the wrong name. -
I'll have to call Customer Support and see what happens then.
-
Quote:Yes but this was happening to me after maintenance though.Thank god its maintenence.
I just tried to log in and then saw this post when I was unable to connect, I was thinking 'oh my god not again, first the game crashes whenever i try to do anything now it wont even let me on'. Im glad somewhere cleared this up because I just changed my account password and i thought id broke it lol. -
Quote:I will have to try again tomorrow... -_-; I'm starting to get to tired/frustrated to keep doing this tonight.okay: when you are at this page: ftp://ftp.coh.com/support_tool/
RIGHT CLICK on the link and choose SAVE AS.
Save the file to it's own folder, say like C:\networktool
Then try to run the program. -
-
Yes but what program do I run it with after I finish downloading it though?
-
I decided to download Zone Alarm since my resident tech guy said that installing a new fire program and turning it off would work. It didn't, I'm still getting the same ******* error! >_<
So as of now, this is on NC-Softs/Paragon Studios end and I hope that they fix this asap. Just put in a new patch to all SBC Global Users or any other users who are having the same problem as me. -
Also, this was already done.
If the above link does not work, you may need to set your FTP mode to passive. If you are using Internet Explorer, this option is located in the menu Tools > Internet Options... > Advanced > Use Passive FTP (for firewall and DSL modem compatibility).
But then again, I use Google Chrome now, but I thought doing that might help. *shrugs* -
Every time I try to open the network tool in a program, it says that the program, Adobe Reader for example, it cannot read the file because it is not the supported file or it has been damaged.
It should take me to the right program if that's the case. :/
Anyway, I'm still rather stumped. I hope that NC-Soft releases a patch that will let me back in because if this patch registered as a virus to my fire wall, then maybe a new patch will correct that. -
I'll have to try this out when I get home.
-
Quote:Does this mean that it's not my fault then? But Paragon Studios? If that's the case, this means that I'll have wait for a patch to fix this then right? :/if the traceroute is to be believed then, connection is being lost at http://www.limelightnetworks.com/
Right off hand, this particular issue "looks" like an issue with the backbone provider between SBC and Paragon Studios.
Thank you for helping me by the way. -
I got both actually.

Quote:Right, sorry about that Dark, I'm just nervous right now. -_-;RK,
I was on tonight in Pinnacle and elsewhere, so something in your router or firewall was updated or corrupted or something of the sort.
Edit: Just noticed you'd posted this a few other times, and started a new thread on it, to boot. Probably best if you put all your eggs in one basket, so to speak, so you're not getting the same things repeated over and over in various threads. -
Quote:Actually I did just get rid of Norton and Avast, (Avast just won't die). You might also need to check for other potential firewall conflicts, such as Microsoft Windows Firewall being activated when / if you turned a 3rd party firewall off.
So your saying that Microsoft Windows Firewall is not turning off? -
Is Pinnacle down too?
I keep getting this message every time I try to log in.
The game client was unable to connect to the login server. This may be due to a local network issue such as a firewall block, or may be because the login server is down for maintenance. Please check your network settings and try again, or check http://www.cityofheroes.com/servers/index.html for current server status. -
I keep getting this right after I enter my login information and press enter.

This patch has broken everything for me because yesterday, I was running this game just fine. -
Quote:Yes, I just did, why?this is going to sound like a stupid question, but can you even get to www.plaync.com and login to your account there?
-
I have also turned off my fire wall again and I still can't log into COX.
-
I just allowed everything I could find about COX into the list of programs that my fire wall will let through and that did not work.

Ever since I downloaded the new patch, I have not been able to log into COX. I have turned my fire wall off and I still can't get into the game.
I think this patch broke more things instead of fixing them.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you. -
I found that deleting a few of my programs helped. But now I can't even get in the game because it keeps saying that my fire wall is up or maintenance is still on going.
