For all the reasons listed above, yes Fire does do more damage, but Plant is better on teams and you'll farm very well with it.
Also, the Pet isn't as bad as some folks let out. -

I will agree with some of the other posters, I would go with either Kin or Sonic.
Kin for the SB and sheild (well, it's one minute so it's annoying) or sonic for the shields and the -res AoE it can put on you.
Plant, well, it's the best troller choice, seeds, sleep, double damage on your AoE immob. -
actually since I am complaining about trivial stuff, why can't I switch detectives so I dont have to go indoors to get a mish?

The point is that this game has gotten easier and easier not harder, the only thing really nerf'ed (other then ED, DOH) is AE and that was never meant to level you that quickly, someone discovers a bug that lets you gain XP fast, people use it for a while, the dev's catch on and fix it, it will continue to happen. -

Why are not the subway lines (Green/Yellow) connected at common transfers points in the same building? I've always wondered about this, while I cannot claim to have ridden every subway system in the world, everyone that I have been a rider on, if there is multiple lines (say North-South and East West) there have always been transfer points within a single building, yet with CoH the two lines are often separated by most of the zone (take Steel Canyon for example).
Has this even been explained at all? it's not a major issue (yes, thats what travel powers are for before anyone says it), but why? the obvious answer is to slow down travel, but is there any lore reason for this?

If its any form of damage you want, stay away from defender since even if with the new buff in i17, its still hardly any different. Plus it also removes itself when in a team anyway.
The biggest advantage of playing Archery on any AT though is the fact that Rain Of Arrows recharges so quickly. When slotted you can get the attack once every mob and on a blaster that does significant damage, on defender its minor so you will still take a long time to kill even with radiation since you will find a lot of the time the target you debuff either gets killed first, or runs outside of the mob.
I myself raised a kin/Archery and a rad/ice before to 50 so i know both sets inside out on defender. Defender is always one of those classes you want to be good, but never actually gets there.
If you plan on teaming with just plant/rad controllers, then i suggest you either look into a scrapper or a tanker, or a blaster. Controllers are squishy but they can stop people moving, doing so however gives them crappy damage. To make an effective team you should work on filling these holes with your charecter, either tanking wise with a tank orientated scrapper or a full tanker to take some of the damage away from them or a blaster to get them killed before they die.
If you play a scrapper tanking, you will probably die a lot leveling and unless set out right, will lose agro a lot anyway but you will deal damage and still be able to tank a bit. Blaster you will find that you will be the first one the mobs run at because you will get the most hate so you should practice running
Its up to you what you play but defender really wouldnt be needed in a team of controllers as a rad. -

I'm not sure I would still considering it significant damage, but that depends on your definition of it. If you went melee, Fire/rad would be great with Plant. Since you want range, Ill/rad would be the ideal. Toss in PA and then have them use Seeds. This being if you want to go controller. Even with a defender, you shouldn't have that much of an issue.

Archery also has a fast recharging mini nuke with rain of arrows, where as dual pistols gets a melee range dance move with crappy damage lol plus your biggest hitter, executioners shot is melee range too, plus it has no snipe power. If range is what your after you shouldnt be anywhere near Dual Pistols.
Archery is better for what you want everytime. -

So I'm teaming with 2 Plant/Rads and I want to be a defender (for more Rad buffs/debuffs) so I'm trying to decide between a DP or Archer.
If you had to pick, which is "better" and why?
This team is all about range, and we're trying to get to 50. -
Hey All,
So my team consists of 2 Fire/Rad's and a Plant/Kin. Now with all the debuffs available (RI,EM and LR) do I need to bother taking Tough/Weave/Maneuvers?
I will have the leadership pool cause I want to run Assault and Tactics, so I guess that Maneuvers can come along but I was wondering if I need to bother with any buffs other then AM/SB?
My team is mostly for running Mish's, although I assume I can handle AV's with all the Debuffs/Pets I would bring along.
Thoughts? Opinions? -

Health which is roughly equivalent over time to spamming an unslotted RA.
Stamina, the king of all powers bar none.
No buttons to push, no friends to annoy by constantly needing a hit off their crack pipe, no mess, no frills; just good clean endurance recovery, completely assured, regardless of who you team with and what powers they took.
I did have one character one time that put it off till 22 ...
As for "buttons" to push, I have scripts, so I just hit F9 and my toons, SB the other memebers of the team, "cast" AM and hasten... -

Another similar (but not nearly as good IMHO) is Earth/TA, monster controll's and when you can get Oil Slick to hit some nice damage. -

I follow the Holy Trinity - Kin-Kin-Rad, and in their name I find the Blue, but the evil of the flesh, Stamina (which, when you rearrange the letters a little is actually Satan-mi (or me)) finds not my heart.

As I listed in my previous thread about Fire/Kin Non Set slotting, I just reached 20 on my team of 2 Fire/Kins and a Plant/Rad, and now with Perma SB on each toon (and 2x on the Rad) and Perma AM, even with JUST IO's and Tough/Weave/Hotfeet/Manouvers going....I...DO...NOT...NEED....STAMINA!

Granted.... I do have some EndRedux sloted and SB is three slotted with EndMod (and so is AM) and it does take having three accounts perma teamed BUT! I...DO...NOT...NEED....STAMINA!
