One to add, I hit L50 last night with Robbie Redhat. Mind/Kinetics controller.
-
I haven't done Moonfire yet, so I'd be up for this.
Robbie Redhat, L48 Mind/Kin controller.

I don't think you need an invite, as far as I know '/chanjoin DefiantBadgers' will work the necessary magic.

If there's enough people will setup a global chat channel.
[/ QUOTE ]
You could use the DefiantBadgers channel. I see people saying they've got badge missions on there occasionally (and the more people who use it, the more I'll see it I expect). -
I'd be there for a raid whoever was running it. Only recently got past L45, so I haven't done one before.
-
If anyone's interested, after hitting L47 and trying a few combinations out on the test server, I've actually decided to stick with Fire Mastery and Fire Ball for the time being.
The reasoning is basically that as I do solo occasionally, the AoE attack is a very nice thing to have. Even in teams, the significant damage with FS and containment can be a useful contribution to make (depending on the team makeup). Now, Primal doesn't have an AoE attack, so that's out. Psionic and Ice do have nice AoE Attacks - but they're both DoT. That means they're useless with Mass Hypnosis, since only one tick benefits from containment, whereas Fireball has a hefty chunk (well, hefty when fulcrum shifted) up front. And I don't care that it wakes them up when one subsequent follow-up with Terrify drops most of them and scares the ones it doesn't drop. With Total Domination being the only other mass containment power in Mind, that makes Fire Ball by far the most useful AoE attack out of the pool powers for someone who isn't necessarily regularly teaming with other players who could compensate for that.
Also, Fire Ball is a first pick. I don't have to take anything else to get it. That means I can respec in Stamina without completely dropping primary and secondary powers which I'd prefer not to drop, which means I can go to Siren's Call, use Telekinesis, and not be totally useless. Just mostly useless.(I did have stamina originally, but I respecced it out when I got transference - which works fine for me generally, but obviously not so much when I exemp below L35).
If I wasn't /kin, I'd probably go with Primal, and if I wasn't mind/ I'd go with Primal, Ice or Psionic. But since I am mind/kin and, frankly, since I like blowing things up, it's great balls of fire for me. -

- in terms of Mind Control, are we credited for kills resulting from the spiders defeating each other under Mass Confusion?
[/ QUOTE ]
Depends. If they do all the damage, then no, if we do any damage - even just one hit - then yes. Confusing them then lobbing in an AoE attack does the trick nicely.
[ QUOTE ]
- I'm lvl34, but Warburg will auto-lvl me to 38. On killing similar lvl spiders in the zone, will I be getting XP or Influence? I'm trying not to lvl (waiting on a friend) so if it is the former case I will need to incurr lots of debt beforehand.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not 100% certain, but I think you would be getting XP, just as if you were sidekicked up to that level and fighting similar levels. I'm not absolutely sure on that though.
EDIT: Just took a L26 into Siren's (L30), and yes, you do get XP. -
I might be in for this depending on what my SG is doing (Wednesday evening is SG night, but it's entirely possible none of them will be on until later, so I may well be free).
If I'm there, it'll be as Robbie Redhat, mind/kin controller. -
[ QUOTE ]
Fair enough, but Total Dom won't be up very often, so that leaves you with Mass Hypnosis for group containment.
[/ QUOTE ]
In practice, with recharge enhancements, Hasten, and Siphon Speed, I find Total Domination is up either every other group (that's usually in a medium to large team fighting tough opponents) or one out of three groups. Which is often enough really. Then, Mass Hypnosis is up every group. That works great soloing (can easily singly hold a few of the group after Mass Hypnosis and before FS/Fireball/Terrify and that's often a good idea anyway if I don't want a boss smacking me around). And in a team, I'm usually more focused on the controlling and buffing than trying to be a primary damage dealer.
[ QUOTE ]
Once you slot it, with Hasten and Siphon Speed, it should be up quite often.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep. My main reservations with Primal are partly that I'm not sure how often I'd really need that increased duration in PvE, but mainly that there's no AoE attack in Primal. Not a problem if I'm teaming all the time, but when I am soloing, I'm not sure if the good single target attack and Power Boost will compensate for that lack of an extra AoE attack. -
[ QUOTE ]
It doubles all secondary effects. So healing, mez duration, buffs, and such. It does not boost mez magnitude, only power that does that is domination.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks MaX. I found a post on the US forums - here - which answers any other questions I'd have had. 'Secondary effects' is such a vague term - personally, I'd have thought the heal from transfusion was its primary effect. -
[ QUOTE ]
The only problem is that Mind is not that great for AoE containment, so the Fulcrum/Fire Ball combo is less useful than for other primaries.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm at L44 now, so I've been using that combo for a few levels, and it's not been a problem. OK, Mind doesn't have a quick recharge mass immobilise, but it does have Total Domination, as well as Mass Hypnosis (which combined with Mass Confusion means no retaliation) for the FS/Fireball combo.
I'm not really planning to take any single target blasts - got dominate, mesmerize, and levitate, so I don't think they're really needed.
Question on Power Boost, what exactly does it boost? e.g. for holds, does it boost the duration, the magnitude, or both? -
I'm just thinking about which epic to ultimately take on my Mind/Kin controller.
Initially, I've taken Fire - but that's because you can get Fireball at L41, and some of the other pools the power I'd particularly want you can't get until L47, so I'm planning to respec then.
Question is, what to? Psionics has Indomitable Will, Psionic Tornado doesn't look too bad, and the shield looks ok. Primal has Power Boost. Ice has Hibernate which might be handy, and Ice Storm, which looks like it could be rather damaging.
Any opinions, suggestions? In particular, how good is Power Boost? -
Well yeah, but the key difference there is, you can get Fireball at L41, and you can't get Ice Storm until L47.
The plan I'm following is taking Fireball for 6 levels, then respeccing at L47.
Although I haven't 100% decided what to switch to - might start a thread in the controller forum for that actually. -

Having been told how ultimate Mind used to be, I'm intrigued to see whether it's possible to turn Mind back into into the King, and I think that Kin is the way to do it... any takers??
[/ QUOTE ]
Used to be? Used to be? It is King with Kin!
Seriously, Total Domination -> Fulcrum Shift -> Terrify -> Fireball is a thing of beauty.
I'd join you on this, but I already have a mind/kin (L44), and no room for another. But I'd be happy to join you exemped down occasionally maybe? -
The party rocked, shame I had to go before it finished. When's the next one?

just wondering whats best for solo 1 on 1 thats all
[/ QUOTE ]
That depends on what the other 1 is.There isn't a universal best build.

I popped along and got these three:
Saluting at Night (high angle)
Saluting at Night (closer)
Getting the torches out. During the day.
Defiant! Where we salute at night and wave flaming torches during the day! -

The murders have been confined to the Galaxy city area, and locals have being quoted on mentioning a woman who calls herself "Dancing With Swords"
[/ QUOTE ]
To add another point, this woman, whom you obviously intend to set up as the killer, is smart enough to avoid the police AND apparently leave no evidence of herself behind ...
[/ QUOTE ]
Why is it obvious she's intended to be the killer, as opposed to being (perhaps wrongfully) suspected of being the killer?
Heck, Spiderman wouldn't have lasted five minutes with you lot. You'd have been after him after every issue of the Daily Bugle. -
[ QUOTE ]
Hmmmmm ok from raids you do not lose any items, salvage, prestige, influence equipment. You only lose the IoP. The base can be totally wrecked and anything clickable can be destroyed but everything is restored automatically from system uppon raid end
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think so.
To quote Lord Recluse (from here)
[ QUOTE ]
Taking down an item in a raid does not automatically mean it is permanently destroyed. There is a base chance that any destroyed item is fully restored at the end of the raid (I don't have the stats in front of me so I can't quote the number). This chance is increased by building Robotic Fabricators and the Flames of Hephaestus. Each adds a percentage to the recovery chance.
And, of course, for in instant raids everything is restored to full at the end of the raid.
[/ QUOTE ]
So in a non-instant raid, there's a chance anything destroyed stays destroyed. -

Robbie Redcap - Psy/kinetic who kept healing himself with about 2 HPs left, most unsporting I thought
[/ QUOTE ]
It's Redhat.
That was actually the first time I've been in Siren's, and I had no idea what I was doing for most of it.But it was a good blast, I'll be back.
-
I thought they were pretty good, especially the look. What did you use to create them?
-
[ QUOTE ]
Right Click and Save Target As.
[/ QUOTE ]
That won't make any difference. The problem is that it's hosted on a geocities site, so it rapidly exceeds the bandwidth allowance and becomes unavailable.
Hikari_Hime, have you got anywhere else you could put it? If not, PM me, I should be able to put it up somewhere for you.
