If I were on a group with you, that chatter would be most welcome. In fact, I'd join in. I have a few bound sayings myself (not that I use them often), including one used on bosses calling them out. I've been in too many dead silent groups. Unless you're told to shut up or stop, keep going. Maybe lay off a bit, don't do it as much, etc. Unless you start to annoy yourself (I've done that!).

Rather than use the F6 (RUN!) key, I'll take a minute to type out (after biting the pavement). "That didn't go so good. Everyone out of the pool!" "Run for your lives!" or something similar.
