Why were so many of the villians in the game made to be so supernatural?
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe I can answer this.
In a comic book, which is cooler to read about: A hero that smashes villains all the day long, without difficulty, or a hero that struggles against all odds against villains that pit their absolute best against one hero? Is it better to watch a hero stumble, and come back with one final strike to victory, or is it better to have the hero bat at the villains like flies?
Is it better to play as a struggling hero that has a high chance of failure, or a hero that beats the crap out of everything? -
You're luckier than me, though.
No one, and I mean NO ONE, ever visits Albuquerque.
Except that stupid rabbit that's always making the wrong turns here. -

Every power, across the board, is getting a 13.33% reduction in its Endurance cost.

Nice that we'll be seeing an endurance cost reduction. Thanks for that.
Now, why 13.33%? Why not 10%? Or 15%? -
Well, I know that it's not mine, but I think that it would be a pretty cool avater regardless.

Welcome. You'd better give us something good, or I'll whoop out my genuine imitation nerf bat.
Clearly you like to do pen & paper RPGs. What about AD&D? Like Pool of Radiance? -
Wha...
But...
Why are...
How can you...
WHO SAID YOU COULD LEAVE?! I certainly didn't!
Maybe the guys in charge of this site should come up with a different color, so we can still hunt you down and [censored] you, Gil. :P
The boards just won't be the same without you in a red suit, Gil. We will all miss you. (At least as a red man.) -
I'm glad that you looked into it, Posi.
Now how about looking at the respawn rates of the other Giant Monsters? I've heard them all up, but I've never really had a chance to get to some of them. One being the notorious Kraken.

3) Announce zone events in the zone. Some zone events are harder to notice than others, and a zone-wide announcement would at least alert players to the event.

Now THAT is a good idea. Something like what you hear when Kronos Class Titan spawns. That one, the screen shakes a few times, you hear this LOUD smashing sound, and there is this...HUGE...robot...glaring at you, and then you see the missiles firing at you.
And for a place that is populated, like Founder's Falls, have Police Drones at various popular sites spouting out information about the location of the spawn.
As for places like Boomtown or Faultline, how about having fewer mob spawns? Or have them running from the spot. Or some similar thing to that.
Best example I can think of for a hazard zone is Adamastor, in Dark Astoria. Have something like what you've got in Croatoa, with that nifty valley. Maybe in this case, a ritual grounds. A dozen or so masks of various sorts. Same number of Totems. Oodles and oodles of minions and lieutenants. (Don't remember what they're called.) Have the lts and the minions doing the worship emote towards the middle of the site, where the totems are focusing themselves to call upon Adamastor. (The fact that they're there means that a spawn is eminent.) Something along that line. (It's fun to come up with some really pain-in-the-butt scheme, but that's what being a player is all about, idn't it?) -
I hadn't noticed a big difference in Enervating Field.
What I DID notice was a big difference with Lingering Radiation, which I don't understand being hit. It got hit with the Controller nerf of half duration, double recharge rate. Why did that happen?!I can barely grasp why EM Pulse might have been hit with it, although I haven't really checked on that.
I can't even keep mobs reasonably slowed! And that's the only means I've got to keep them together for my debuffs when I'm soloing! -
Not sure if I'm allowed multiple posts are not...But if we are not, could mine be consolidated, please?
Anyways, last question. With the inability to get debt until level 10, it might be difficult for some of us to get all of the 5-9 mission contacts. Have anything in the works so we can get them all? -
Right off the bat, I play a Rad/Rad with stealth. I use it to make sure I don't get aggro of too many mobs, but the +DEF is a nice bonus. Not really a big deal to me.
First off, my biggest problem is the suppression for ten seconds. Granted, being a Rad, I won't notice it with RI and EF going, but ten seconds is a very long time. At the very least, the time should be cut in half.
Second, I can kinda understand what is being said in the changes. I'd like a little bit of clarification.
Third, could you please define "Critters." Not quite sure what the difference is between critters and "All Enemies."
Fourth, why lose half of the defense buff? Or, since we're on the subject, have it there in the first place?
Fifth, does the stealth drop happen exclusively in PvP, or does it apply to PvE, too? Whether or not it applies to PvE, would it be reasonable to have the stealth drop completely after a second attack within a fifteen-second time frame?
Sixth, I noticed that "Basic Stealth Powers" have a penalty associated with them with the use of a click. Does the same apply to the "Primary Stealth Powers?" And if not, why is that?
LLastlly, and as a reallly, reallly, reallly minor thing (unllike other posters here, it seems), might want to try reading your post alloud before you post it. (Might hellp with the proofreading, and such :P) -
Great work on the plots! It's something I find lacking in many games these days, and, quite honestly, when I solo, sometimes I get so caught up in the plots that I forget to visit the trainer. :P
First question is: What is the story behind the name? What made him into what he is now? Not sure if this question has been answered elsewhere, but I'm fairly new, and into the story of it.
Second question: I know that the low levels go by quickly, but for the 1-5 region, or maybe for the tutorial, could we have a really small and really short story arc? I think this would help people experience your great plots and stories.
Third question: Can we have a way to identify whether or not we have a story arc from our contacts (be it obvious or discreet)? While not that big a deal, when my main character was in the mid-thirties, I was helping out with other characters, and out-levelled my arcs. And I missed out on the 40+ arcs because I had two arcs already in progress.
Fourth, and last, question: What is the reasoning behind having some Task Forces and Trials on a per-issue basis? I never really got a chance to do the Calvin Scott Task Force (whichever one that may be), and I want to have them all. -
I'm sure that it's apparent that I'm fairly new to the boards :P
States, you're a very respectable person, and always have been. Not having read much from the other devs, I'll say that they're as honorable, if not in the same function. From what I'm getting from others on the boards here, you pretty much balance out the rest of the devs over there.
As for your brother, he, and the other soldiers over there, are in my prayers. It is truly a brave and honorable thing for him to do, even more so to have support from friends and family. (My father and a close friend of his are former military, so I know how the military lifestyle is...somewhat.) Give him a "Good Luck, and Duck!" from me the next chance you get, if he's still over there when you do. Not really quite sure if this quote fits given the situation, but I'll give it anyways (as close as I can recall it, anyways. :P)
General Patton: "The goal of war is not for our poor damn son-of-a-[censored] to die for our country, it's to make those poor damn son-of-a-[censored] die for their's."
Edit: Something I just remembered that I know is appropriate for this. A plaque of mine has this phrase on it: "FREEDOM: Freedom is for those alone who have the courage to defend it."
P.S. Which post(s) are you referring to?
