It took awhile to get together, but we figured it all out and succeeded! Many thanks to @Scible, @Paul Metcalfe, @New Age Ronin, @Noyjitat, and @Rockmar for leading teams!
The league UI does make raids much nicer for me to put together, and it didn't seem to add any lag for me. If you were at the raid, how was your experience? Should we keep using the league system? -
Yesterday's mothership raid on Liberty was similar to what you describe - tons of lag, and we were using the league system and tons of incarnate powers. I'm planning on leading a Hami raid today with a league, and I hope that the lag isn't as bad as it was last night. :/

The Steadfast KB protection IO isn't unique. However, the 3%def/res IO in the same set is.

Perhaps next time around, you should relax your rules on duplicates some. It's kind of annoying to go through all my 50s and realize that out of the four who aren't completely useless in PvP, I can't use three of them because they're the wrong AT or have the wrong blast set. (This may be hyperbole.)

My apologies to today's raiders -- my network decided to be hideously unstable once we hit the third yellow, and it never really stopped. (I was on my brute, Deal With It.)

Repeated crashes, all of which take the whole computer down with it. I'm pretty sure what I need is a real graphics card and more ram (running a nvidia 6100 and 1 gig of ram right now). Teams make the crashing worse, but I still crash solo.

Because I can't play unless I want to crash, yaaaay. (I know what the problem is and I don't have what I need to fix it, unfortunately.)

You can also change your difficulty options to set yourself as a team of 1-8 players and then increase the level of enemies you fight (-1 to +4). There is also no longer a fee for changing your difficulty settings.
One of the biggest changes you missed is the Mission Architect or "Architect Entertainment". You'll see the buildings in various zones. This is all player-create content and is run as a pseudo-task force. You can search for arcs (or play mine #1460).
Logging out your characters in various locations will also award day job badges, all of which have various bonuses attached to them.
Most of the other new content is team related (new 5th column TF/SF, super side kicking).
