I dunno if my PM about Child's Play to Lighthouse started it or not, but I'm glad regardless. I waited too long to order something (should'a done it earlier, I could have ordered a lego star wars game for one of our local-ish hospitals) and ended up just paypal'ing money into the Child's Play general pot.

Prestige Grant
Supergroups will receive an additional 20,000 Prestige per Supergroup member on Dec. 10th! This means SGs could acquire up to 3 million Prestige based upon their Supergroup membership roster! This is a one time grant, based strictly on the number of people in the Supergroup at the time the grant is done.

Rank mules invade CoH. Film at 11! (on Dec 9th!)
*sigh*
I won't bore you with the request for "just 3 mil flat" again, but can you answer: do trial accounts count, or not (provided they are active across that Dec 9 -> Dec 10th grant)? Do inactive paid-retail-box accounts count?
Your post(s) implies "yes" to both. I'd like clarification.
Edit: pluralized post after your pseudocode scriptlet. -

look who Employs Lighthouse
NCsoft is acting...
[/ QUOTE ]
Acting at the speed of molasses maybe. I reported the dude doing it on Pinnacle when he hit my first character. 45 minutes later after getting my 4th, I re-reported.
For my efforts I got back a nasty note about "don't double report things" ... a further three hours later. Weaksause, bigtime. So the guy got to spam for about 3 hours. Response time to gold spammers has GOT to come down, otherwise you may as well not bother. -
Nothing the old guides say became totally useless with IOs.

I, for one, welcome our new server-lag-bringing overlords.
I haven't seen lag like this since the classic hammie raids way back in the pre-ED days. Cap Au just wasn't processing anything -- and that raid saw almost no heavies. Kinda disappointing.

Question 2: How do I get a bind to talk back to me? Is there a way to bind a key to say stuff that only I can read? I would like to make some feedback or a menu list.
[/ QUOTE ]
/tell $name, Are you talking to yourself again!?!?! -
There's one category you might want to add, if you're willing to go there:
Bad puns - A cat-girl empath defender named Feline Intervention. Sometimes the pun is a name plus costume pair, like a skimpily clad/sexy female (or male, I suppose) earth-themed character named Subduction. Bonus: combines well with the other suggestions above when your pun is taken!
Warning: example names may already be taken on some servers! -

Do either of Sands of Mu or the Ghost Slaying Axe interact with a Brute's Fury? (My initial fiddling implies they don't, but that could be bad testing on my part.)
[/ QUOTE ]
I recall being told "no" before (but by who I'm not sure -- possibly a guildie in game), but my own personal observations with the ghost slaying axe says that it is factoring in fury.
At least, vs some mobs in the same mission I saw numbers in the 20s early on when I used it with every other attack recharging (so some, but low, fury) while I was still building fury and by the end with my bar rockin' I was seeing 50s/hit.
I didn't go back and do any testing on it, so can't say for sure. Sorry! -
The SS builder I downloaded a day or two ago defaulted to "use proxy" in the updater configuration. Once I turned that off it updated just fine.
-
It isn't really that the quantity of mobs gets out of control in smash and grabs -- at least in the 20s (where my brute is right now). The problem is that the debuffs that quantity of mobs puts out gets out of control.
When 3 ghosts and 3 equalizers land the flash-bang grenade on you, you won't hit anymore. I've tried popping yellows and it helped while those were up. Once they were down, I was screwed until dead. Then there's the equalizers with the stupid -recharge glue grenade that can just stop your powers from cycling. Again, tasty lenolium results.
I'm not quite sure where the triggers are in there. I know there is the "you got near the vault." I suspect there may also be a "you smashed the vault" or a "you got near (or touched) one of the back-room safes."
Given some of the masses of longbow I've seen two friends and myself survive (2 brutes, ss/ela, stone/ela, one rad/rad corr) it isn't the quantity that is the issue. We can handle that many mobs. It is the MAD DEBUFFS that kills you.
I wish we had debuffs that were as good as theirs. I've also got a /TA MM, and his glue arrow isn't impressive compared to the glue grenade, and his flash-bang is practically not noticable. (of course, he's pre-SOs as well, so that could be it) -
Being a MM, you slot up, what, 3 powers total from your primary. The rest, kinda irrelevant. From your secondary you'll slot up some, but even still compared with someone trying to slot up 5-6 attacks from their primary plus an equivilant secondary (MM vs Corr)... That's a lot of free slots. Plus the MM can skip stamina in many cases, so there's even more slots (and powers) to play with.
-
I'll happily slot acc and end redux even at trainings. The jump from nothing -> training is equal in size of the jump from training -> duals, and that latter jump is quite noticable! Reducing downtime means more time leveling, which means more influence coming in to you per play session.
Another great way to make cash, though I'm sure I'll catch flack for mentioning it: sell badge missions. Or temp-power missions like the sky raiders jet pack. Getting to grandville isn't that hard. At that point you can use broadcast to find someone with money flowing out their ears who just realized they are this one badge away from an accolade, and you happen to have that low-level badge mission. -
You're lucky to be fighting melee-happy enemies. Later on when they aren't melee happy, they leave the burn patch and don't come back.
Last status report: Tanks Like Ash, L42, been putzing around PI working on Tina and her TF, now shelved.
Maybe I'll revisit him later if the devs fix this. -
I perfer just stuffing 6 in there. It's easier, you can't always be green++.
-
Well I finally caught him, so my little toon is now "The Dark and Stormy Knight (Errant)". Someone else found him in the southwest spawn and I happened to notice the chatter on broadcast.
-
The resistance cap isn't effected by what mob level you're facing.
They get a mad bonus to damage to you if they're +++ and a mad penalty if they're --- however, which may make it SEEM like it's changing your cap. Even a 1 level difference will be a noticeable difference in damage done to you if you watch the numbers (and damage done to them by you). If you and he are different levels that'd explain it pretty obviously. Alternatly, he may have an end redux slotted somewhere, causing him to be at less than cap while you're still capped.
Conversely, the same is true of players. You're 32, go find a level 1 hellion an brawl him. I've seen a friend's blaster (40th, possibly sk'd up to 49 at the time) do over 3k damage to a level 1 in ONE SHOT (and it wasn't a snipe!) I'm sure a broadsword scrapper could do more with their higher damage cap.

Update on my fire tank: Finally crawled my way thru to 37 in eden. That wasn't much fun. But at that point I got back into crey's, herding freaks up in carnival town (NE corner of it) and life was again good... for a while.
Now I'm 40 and cursing out the contacts at the far end of founder's. I'm ignoring them and working on Tina, planning to get some of the instanced praetorean missions to herd. I know herding the docks was apparently the rage for a while but I've been trying not to do massive non-hazard-zone herding.
I'm not so sure why people are all big on the freaks, I'm thinking that bobcat's minions are going to be what I herd. They do almost exclusivly smash/lethal, which I'm capped for resist on. They're claws so they don't do /that/ much damage. The map's a reasonable size and has decent corners, so they should be herdable, and they're all melees so they /want/ to get close and wack me. Oh and best of all none of them fly off at one billion miles per hour, nor stand back up serially to piss me off. -
When I'd seen them spawning in a pattern it seemed to include the parts piles in it too. Like it'd be little spawn, little + parts, big, dual little, dual little + parts, big + parts.
I never saw it get out of that spawn cycle tho and hit something that looked different, like it might be constructing a paladin. Other than the random 4-bosses in the spawn spawns, and hanging around for those didn't produce a guy. -
The 3 spawn points seem to always pop mobs like an assembler prince does. Is it just a matter of standing there watching them until they (after forever and a day) get around to constructing the paladin?
Has a lower level spawn (5-6s, as opposed to the occasional 15s that show up) ever been known to construct him?
Been camping for over a week now and getting pretty sick/pissed off with it. -

I thought I should add that Combustion (and taunt if you're a big team player) is really important before respec. Before level 27 (or 22 for those who can buy SOs early thanks to wealthy alts) the damage from Blazing Aura isn't enough to consistently keep the baddies nearby.
[/ QUOTE ]
Slot taunt duration not damage and they'll hang around as long as you're hitting them. I do 1x end 2x accy 2x taunt in my 5 slots in it. -
I've heard elsewhere it has a "build up" period, where you get more and more clocks and eventualy it just spawns him.
Or something. -
Be fantastic if you could provide screenshots from the 3 sights (well the other 2), or map locations for them.
-
Heh. I'd just started one of these with the plan of storm/dark/dark but hadn't been looking for a guide, just playing what I knew so far. Don't think I'll come out looking too similar, but who knows. I'll definatly have to get tenebrous'in which I wasn't planning on before.
-
Any comments about epic pools out there other than conserve power? I was thinking of maybe taking laser beam eyes and slotting it out with 2 accys, 4 def debuffs, but didn't know if that was worth it (if anyone had played with it even).
I suppose if nothing else, there's fake bouts in the arena on test. :-) -
I went exploring more in eden. Yum the nemesis. Got 34->35 in about 1.5 to 2 hours, easy. Herd in up into a container and burn burn burn.
Ya gotta have 1 column of insps empty and just pop em as they come in when you start the burn to survive the hits-so-hard-with-vengance problem, but it hasn't (yet) failed me.
Dunno what I'll hit now. If those guys level up with me probably there, if not I may have to figure out what else to do -- further in didn't look that great for herding and the time to level shot up when I leveled.
Might try crey's again. The 37s the red zones should be tasty. -
So I tried wandering into eden at 33 with my fire/fire tank and I lived but it didn't turn out so well. I'm going to have to pull smaller groups than I can in creys due to all the toxic and cold that's being spit around.
I think in the 35+ range I'll just be over in creys, lighting everything I can on fire by the crash site.
Tho, I must say, doing a friend's praetorian AVs was fun too. We'd never before had a tank on them (small group of 5 friends doing 'em) and it was amazing! Psi ones of course are still impossible, but dang the rest are so pathetic. Infernal? Doesn't overcome my natural healing rate + a rare healing flames. One night we kicked thru half the arc, maybe tonight or tomorrow we can finish it and my lil level 33 tank can get his hands on the accolade (mmm more health!)
