LOL @ Fallenz for calling Barbie a he. SURE Barbie might be a he, but with a name like Bad Barbie we all want to *think* she's a she

Pheret,
I love it! The overall look is consistent and really enjoyable. Your use of selective floating and the occasional double doors really give a wonderful unique feel without being overly cluttered. The layout of the rooms, and of objects within the rooms is just great.
The only minimal suggestion I would make is the skylight... You could move the lights into the area directly over the flyer - and put them all the way to the edges to suppress the trim; then drop the ceiling down where the skylight currently sits. This would give you a more skylighty? skylightish? skylightly? feel - and the directed lighting with show off the flyer a little more. But even so, your lounge is awesome! -
That is a fantastic library! Really good work in there.

My amusing moment for the week:
My level 2 emp/sonic named Mama (she kisses your booboos better, then yells at the naughty bullies) got onto a sewer team. A tank, a scrapper, a blaster, a warshade and a something/thermal. At those levels, all I had was, of course, heal aura and heal other and 1 blast. We are cruising through the sewers, and I SWEAR the tank had a death wish, but there I was healing, and blasting, and healing and blasting. No one died, except the WS when he ran too far from the group. Finally, as we were getting ready to ghetto port to the surface, the scrap says to me "Nice heals" and I replied "Nah - nice defending". He replies "???" and so I said "when you have a defender on your team and they are making your life MUCH better, thank them for their defending, no matter if they are throwing debuffs, buffs or the ever-obvious heals. They will ALL appreciate it more.". He replied "oh. OK. Nice defending" followed by LOLs from the team.
Then the 48+month vet WS (had the fairy pet) sends me a tell "You read the defender forums, don't you...". I just had to laugh -
I like how you used the lateral files, floor heights and ceiling heights to give rooms many different areas. The overall feel of the base is also really nice.

Very nice indeed! Great use of a small base.
-
Nice job, Mid! Looks really nice... I do like the 'under room' with the power unit as well ;-)
-
I think the -regen issue is still relevant. Despite the inclusion of the cold set with the -regen in benumb (and -regen in /thermal in controller, and /mind in blaster *shudder*), the CONSTANT application of -regen is much more useful vs AV and Giant monsters.
I would love to see a small but UNRESISTED -regen on poison gas arrow. For instance, a -6.25% regen debuff, unresisted, would give as much -regen on a lvl 54 AV (assuming caster is lvl 50) as most of the big hitters, without getting crazy. Howling twilight and Benumb both give a -500%, but after the AV resist and the purple patch, it gets knocked down to 6.25% for 30s. Lingering Radiation gives the same values but for 15s, albeit with a MUCH faster recharge timer. EMP and EMP arrow thus give a 13% -regen for only 15 sec, on a long recharge timer with the -recovery to self cost.
By doing it as a small but unresisted debuff, it makes the power great for AVs, but doesn't really alter the power against normal foes, thus leaving TA almost unchanged for normal play. However, I think that this 1 small change would make TAs 'less weak', more loved AND increase the number of defender power sets that enhance the playability of AV arcs. This would be a nice double tap as far as 'defender issues' go.
...and I don't even HAVE a TA yet -
Eva - Awesome work in there! You had some really novel ideas - using the backwards ramps to cover the 'underfloor' sections looks great! I also like your use of the counters as the 'walkway' for the upper book shelevs your library. Overall, a very nice looking base!

Ahhh - took me a bit to figure it out, but if you hit 'reply' instead of 'quick reply' (or at least make it show you a preview of your reply) you get the big box of options, including font colors, all kinds of smiley faces, 'instant UBB code', etc. Click on the box for 'url'. It makes a new window where you can paste your web address (usually photobucket :-) Then it asks you what text you'd like to have be the link, and, a voila, clickable text :-)

An intriguing idea! Splitting everything up to give yourself a huge amount of base-space, without worrying about 'too-much-stuff' lag and without having to pay rent... just a little tough to earn enough prestige across them all.
-
Thank you for doing this!
In one of the wishlists, how about adding in the discussion about using Vanguard Merits to buy SG/Base items... decorative items, target dummies, etc. -
My latest is the early stages of a new villains group. Since the base is going to be rearranged several times, I tried to keep stacking to a minimum, so it can be readily pulled down and redone.
The 'theme' is that each member has (or will have) their own room.
Entry room
Dojo for our Ninja/TA
...with refreshments...
...shower...
...and meditation area.
Hydroponics room
...with actual hyrdoponics...
...med bay...
..and the plant dom's 'bed'room.
And finally, The barnyard
...with 2 stalls...
...for the Donkey...
...who is kicking back...
with the Chicken as his guest. The other stall is for the Pig.
I need to make an ice rink for the ice/cold corr and the mind/ice dom. I will also be making a sauna for the fire/dark corr, and a tech room for the robots/ff MM :-) -
Several things...
The library is fantastic! Really nice design!
The furniture thing is going to make you cry: you float the furniture FIRST at the height where it should be resting on the bookshelves just below. Then you fill in the bookshelevs underneath. You'd have to pull down sections of your flooring, and since you are using the 4 foot height shelves, you'd have to also change the floor height below your furniture - so everything within the floor-square would have to be removed - then stack straight up. I think it is beautiful as is... unless you have another 20 hours lying around.
I like the other 2 rooms as well -
Your hanger deck is just great - but that pirate ship is AWESOME! Really nice work ;-)
-
Nice looking med bay!!
As far as lighting, hospitals are all very brightly lit - but operating theaters have directed light. However, that might be overkill in a base :-) -
Gotta agree with MidFra - the dojo is SO much cooler in person... astonishing work!
-
@Rhynwa on Triumph and Liberty
...and quite the opposite of @Badstorm, I am a great builder but I /badstorm at design... (sorry - defender forum joke). I am pretty good with magic desks etc. so I can teach that too. -
I assumed that the light was low for atmosphere - and it totally works! - I was just suggesting that you turn up the lights for pics, then reset them to where the belong...
...but, I guess I will just have to ask for a base tour as well! What server are you on? :-) -
I ADORE your wonderful base designs and decor - but they are SO hard to see... will you do us a favor and crank the lighting way up for your pics. I don't want to miss any detail!
Your Bayou and Dojo are truly amazing works - I just WISH I had your sense of style - my bases never seem to have a nice flowing theme in them. -
VERRRRY Nice - it really has the look you were going for!
-
The Sushi Shop is stunning! Very nicely pulled off! I love "hiding" the pots for the plants under the stone plinths, and I really like the garden wall. Using the ranps as the sneeze-guard is awesome.

Needs some tiki torches, and a volleyball net.

Yeah I've been so wishing I could have some sort of Volleyball net!
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, it ain't perfect, but here are two suggestions...
Lower tech version
High Tech (good facing)
High Tech (bad facing)
I like the first best - and it is very cool watching the electricity rise... It's kinda like Frankenstein's volleyball net :-) -
OOOOH! You can do a sand pit fire... like for roasting pigs and the like :-)
