  1. True, I said before that there's a good chance it's a different bug with the same results. Either way, it's those same results that I'd like to see gone.

    It probably won't happen though.
  2. It was also PvE before elec came to stalkers, but was so rare and hard to replicate that pinning down what was causing it seemed impossible.

The DoT part is a pain, since each tick counts as a separate attack with its own chance to happen. If they made it a constant number of ticks, it might work in getting around that.
  3. I'm glad to hear about the proposed arena options.

I just wish it didn't have to come at such a high cost.
  4. [ QUOTE ]

Well, unless you had some serious IOs etc your toon was beaten silly especially certain ATs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not at all. While IO's did help, they don't make nearly the difference as is stated by some on these forums. None of the toons I PvP with run IO's at all. My stalker is still using standard SO's, and my scrapper only has a couple HO's in his build.

The only character I've IO'd out is my Dom, which I don't use to PvP with, and my Brute, which was made for team TF runs.
  5. [ QUOTE ]

No, I wouldn't. I do PvP, although I'll be the first to say I'm not terribly good at it. All I'm trying to do is get some clarity on what the core issues regarding movement here are. For knowledgable players, who understand and use the auto-locking and auto-follow, there is no such thing as evasion, unless you break line-of-sight or run faster than I can.

[/ QUOTE ]I think you might have just figured out part of evasion... keep going though.

    [ QUOTE ]

Ah, right. Here's the "I'm good at it, you're not, and I like it that way" part of the argument. You might be interested to know that while you describe PvP in this game as having a "unique feel" and lamenting how it's getting slowed down, many other people--including but assuredly not limited to myself--describe the same principles of PvP as "broken" and complain about being killed too quickly and too easily. Which is unique, I suppose, but I doubt many people outside of the hardcore PvP crowd would view that uniqueness as a good thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

When did I ever say I was good at it, or that you weren't?

Disagree with how broken the system was before or after the changes, but you can't deny that the speed and lethality of the game has dropped a lot. If you like it more this way, good for you. I'm glad you enjoy it. Others don't, however, and found the other way to be better.
  6. They could fight back before. Nothing stopped them from doing so.

Also, hit and run tactics not thematical to comic books? Have you ever read an issue of the Flash?
  7. You'd be surprised at how much good movement and evasion skills came into play in PvP matches.

It wasn't the lack of adaptation, simply because PvP'ers have always adapted to new situations, whether it be Psi blasters, VEATs, cage changes, phase changes, veng stacking, etc. But when the entire game for them gets slowed down exponentially, thus driving the unique feel of it (as compared to other MMO PvP systems) away without any of the rewards that those other systems provide, it's clear why one wouldn't like the changes or stick around to play them.

I think they should start a new server. This server should keep the old PVP dynamics and be deemed an "expert level" server.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unsigned. PvPers can learn to play the game as it exists now just like everyone else. And there's nothing "expert" about being unable or unwilling to adjust to dynamic conditions--in fact, that's the opposite of "expert".

    [/ QUOTE ]

Psst, you might have missed the main reason(s) why many PvP'ers hated the new system.
  9. I noticed he talked about the costume creator (again, for the 900000000th time), but made no mention of what they did to PvP.

  10. Ruby, why can't I quit AMD products?

    They're like raspberry truffles.
  11. lol, Cuppa left that project a while back. She's on something new now.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
You should read my post again. I agree that Tanks and scrappers "aren't" broken. I never said Tanks and Scrappers were. If anything they are the Uber class for PvP. My point is that the other classes "ARE" broken. If the tanks and scrapps were broken, no one would use them. As it stands, the majority of PvP players are the Tank/Brute or Scrap/Stalk class.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is wrong. Stalkers, maybe, but the rest is very wrong.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Thats assuming all PvP players lvl up and earn the inf to purchace thes IOs themselves rather than PLing to 50 and recieving the IOs from SG mates or alt toons. Even if thats true, it doesn't change the fact that after the changes in i13, people will still have to lvl up and get the IOS. i13 doesn't hand out sets or lvl bumps. How does this reward players for no effort?

I can put all the time and effort into my Emp/Psi (and I have) and I still can't compete with and Brute or Scrap and its not based on Skill. This is a "Set" flaw. Obviously as it is, Emp/Psi is a team based set that has no chanse in a solo PvP environment. I'd love to be proven wrong but I haven't been yet.

I'm not saying these classes don't PvP, I'm just saying they have a distinct disadvantage.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, your Emp/Psi would have an advantage over a brute and most Scrappers, provided both players were of equal skill level.

Nearly Anything/Psi defenders made for some great dueling characters in PvP.

Certain powersets dominated. Certain ATs were impossible to beat.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wanna know how I know Posi doesn't PvP?
  15. Nah, that'd require something other than blind ignorance and rage. Couldn't have that, now could we?

  16. [ QUOTE ]
    crybaby PvP'ers.

  17. Yeah, it got fixed pretty quick before it could do TOO much damage.
  18. Basically, you could set yourself up to quit (30 second countdown) with the patron pet ready to summon. At about the 3 seconds left mark, you activate the power. This would summon your patron pet, but without you around as an "anchor" so to speak. So it would be summoned as an enemy mob and attack anything within aggro radius. Considering you'd have to be level 47 or higher just to get said pets, it could really do some damage inside of a well packed Pocket D (like say, on Virtue).
  19. [ QUOTE ]
In that video, maybe most of the people were in on the trick. But it was used to mess up an Angels party in Pocket D, and happened more than once.

The problem is, once a way of griefing gets some publicity, there are lots of idiots who go "hyuk hyuk hyuk I kan do dat too and den dey will no dat I are kool two hyuk hyuk hyuk". So as undeniably clever as a single inventive grief can be, getting it repeated ad nauseam wipes out any respect for the cleverness.

And yes, if your fun is standing under Atlas, talking to people, trying out emotes, getting novaed is ruining your fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, absolutely. It happened at the Golden Giza fight night once before too. The main point I was making is that the video shown wasn't made to go "look how cool I am griefing dis place" but rather to get more attention to something that had been happening for months before it was even acknowledged.

Also, does anyone remember the Patron Pet summon bug? Now THAT was brutal when used in the D.
  20. Funny thing is, with the Atlas Park nuke video that was shown, most of the people there were part of the same SG as the one doing the nuking. The video was made and shown in a widespread enough manner that the bug that allowed it (which had been reported for some time before then) seemed to have become a much higher priority. It got fixed REAL fast after that.
  21. You did mention your elec/ea had some "cute" procs, and that they could drain a spawn of 17 in 5 seconds. Whether the drain part is due to IO's is speculation, but the procs certainly are.
  22. According to the devs, your "second" build will be empty of enhancements, so you'll have to get new IO's/SO's for the second set of slots if you so choose to use said second build.
