  1. I want more diverse evil.

I have evil incarnate, my plant/psi dom, who's not immortal, but I'd say infinitely prolonged and seeks to exact revenge on the hero that made him that way by accident.

Then I have the selfish and misguided protege of said evil, a young girl with basically the Phoenix inside her.

But how evil do I want a stolen and reprogrammed system core of an alien spaceship that delivered two of my other heroes to Earth? Can't say. Ruthless and unyielding is where his M.O. lies.

And don't even get me started on the rage built into "The Erotic Display", my SS/WP porn-store mannequin brute who's wearing a 1.5-piece bikini on a male model...

I'd settle for just more options to explore the spectrum instead of being firmly in the "4" range we have.
  2. Amartino, neither cards will work with Ultra Mode.

In fact I started a thread with my drop rate results only to discover someone else had beaten me to it, whereupon I dumped my results into their thread and then switched to testing Pool B end of mission drops. And in between the love-fest posts which are the only ones you apparently saw or remember testers were complaining about, and making suggestions regarding things such as common IO recipes, salvage storage, ingredient-recipe inconsistencies, and the like. I also hammered the devs on things like LotG and GotA being unique, and all the tohit buffs in the invention system (which caused them to get changed to accuracy buffs). There was massive testing and critiquing going on in I9 closed beta.

There wasn't as much opportunity to be highly critical for Issue 10, but there was a lot of testing of the RWZ and its missions, and those were pretty broken at times. And of course, while people were fawning over Positron they were also complaining about things like the mole machine.

Issue 11 was back to form. People complained about the way combos worked, they complained about the performance of Willpower, they complained about the stalker version of Willpower. The players also specifically got two changes to Willpower: they got its immobilization weakness removed after repeated complaints that lack of immobilization was potentially worse than lack of knockback protection because critters are designed to be able to perma-immobilize in many cases, and they got quick recovery moved from tier 7 to tier 6 which is a massive difference for scrappers and brutes: it makes the power available at level 20 - when stamina would first become available - rather than 28. The testers also beat the crap out of the Ouroboros system and complained about the temp power attenuation.

There was a lot of back and forth testing and debate over Cimerora and the VEATs in Issue 12, day jobs and the merit system in Issue 13, and even the architect in Issue 14.

For you to characterize the closed betas in the way you do, I have to assume you either weren't actually there, or you were there and were not an active participant, or you have such a loaded perspective that you were incapable of seeing what was going on around you. To say the testers were not rigorous or critical in *any* of the closed beta tests going all the way back to CoV beta - and I was in every single one of them - is so contrary to the facts that its insulting. And its personally insulting to me, because the issues related to this patch are things *I* personally tested in Issue 14 beta and reported on, so if you're saying that these issues are due to the quality of the testers of I14, then you're specifically saying that about me.
    *Slow clap, building towards ovation!*
  5. Outside of AE was always more fun for me anyway.

This is welching on the "Full rewards in AE" from the beginnings and "You can go from 1-50 in AE" claim which is overall much harder now, but hey, life goes on. The devs are human, and made some promises that are biting them in the ***, but the technology is still amazing, even if you can't use bubbledrones for capping defense anymore. The farmers will move on, they always do.
  6. I've found my girlfriend's macbook pro (with a 9400M chip) reliably crashes when Arachnos textures are involved. She can't do any mission on Arachnos tilesets or even walk through Grandville City Hall to her patron without dumping out. The Vanguard Base also does this, as do some SG bases.
  7. Recently (Within the last few weeks) my girlfriend who runs a Macbook Pro with a GeForce 9400M seems to be crashing consistently. There is severe lag inside the Vanguard base, and in Arachnos maps. In fact, we've narrowed it down to this: In these areas, she can exist, but not MOVE. Once she moves around, she's guaranteed to crash within a minute.

I don't have any more information handy, but was wondering if there was a thread with support (Couldn't find one) on this issue, or if anyone else was experiencing this problem and had discovered a workaround.

    Thanks

  8. I would absolutely be all for it, however I don't feel your description of the issue is clear enough. When you say "the new pieces will be overlayed" does that mean that the old-form Granite Armor shapeshift model will be gone completely, giving us instead a "Redux Version" as I call it that resembles Old Granite but instead sits atop our characters like the other toggles?

Your wording seems to suggest this, but I'm hesitant to vote one way or the other without seeing the "what if" details.

Though to be honest, not being able to color Granite at all was a major letdown so I'd be leaning yes anyway.
  9. Subjective: I feel that accuracy (or is it to-hit) modifiers are too high for custom enemies. I have a shield/fire brute with sets doubling my defense when toggled (read: near softcap for dev created minions), and I still get hit regularly and die like a chump. If you aren't Ice Armor, it seems Defense sets can be a bit easily overwhelmed.
  10. MMMmmm... dragonbooblets...

    Dragon...berry?

I'll call it coincidence, when using something predominantly green the opposite side of the color wheel is purple and thus makes a strong statement visually.

I know the aesthetics but am cursed to be unable to apply them to a skill :/

    C'est la vie.
  12. Hahaha! That is "teh cutez0r".

    Yeah, I went there.
  13. 1. Red Switchblade - Claws / Invuln Scrapper

    2. Shockwave - Cone AoE knockback.

    3. Switch runs up to a group, says nothing. Whips her hand around like a frisbee toss and sends a shockwave into the lead enemy. Everyone sits there awkwardly for a second before they start getting flung back Earthquake style, one row after another as the knockback moves through.

    4. I could use this all day on Freakshow. It's great imagining them getting impaled on each other as they toss around into their friends in the back row :P
  14. I less than three this poster.

This message brought to you by spot 110, dead-last on the list :P
  15. Look more like Power Rangers mashed into Robocop themes, but I still love em!

  17. Note:

The best time to give an early birthday present is when you insult the recipient's wife over teamspeak, to the chagrin of your audience but also, unwittingly, to the wife.

"Sometimes I wonder why you don't just punch her in the goods." On her forcing him off CoH all the damn time lately :P

Well, foot in mouth. Art given. Butt saved.

    Happy Birthday Kozz :P

    And thanks again Juggy!

  21. Hey all,

I've been working at trading cards for a while for my SG on Virtue, the Defenders of Paragon. I just got them all uploaded to my deviantart space so I thought I'd share:

I'm working on editing the name text for all my cards in the future.

Do you think "sinking" the eyes in more would give more expression? Then you could play with the brow a little more.

QFT. I think there needs to be some eyebrow work done to his face, which will exude an expression which is otherwise obscured by his facial garments.
  25. I'm feeling an "Incredibles" aura oozing from it. Sweet!
