(and many comic artists seem to have a shakey grasp of anatomy, especially female anatomy).

And that makes me a real comic book artist
[/ QUOTE ]
Comic book art has a tendency to exaggerate specific characteristics, especially persepective, to enhance action and the like.
There's a book called "How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way" which gives a fairly good tutorial on figure drawing and comic-book conventions.
Of course, that's not to say comic book artists don't sometimes distort other things, or just get it wrong. The typical Image heroine has a highly exaggerated female figure with grossly narrowed waist and long legs. However, it's hardly a specific failing of comic artists. Pinup artwork from WWII is noteable for the extreme leg length of the models, and (of course) in real life women wear high heels and corsets (sometimes quite extreme corsets) to narrow the waist and lengthen the legs. The leg-length thing is because women tend to gain length of leg after puberty, so long legs is hard-wired into a male brain as sexually desirable. I think the narrow waist is similar; it tends to exaggerate the hips, and wide hips are good for child-bearing.
It's kind of depressing that we're all so hard-wired in what we find attractive. And don't think women get away with it either: why do you think mae comic-book heroes tend to be manly, with tight trousers showing off some considerable bulge around the crotch..? It isn't to attract teenage boys... -
(( My main is a perfectly normal human girl and this is a plot designed to affect pretty much everyone in the city without asking whether we'd like to be affected or involved. So Ni will be remaining in Europe on business for the forseeable future. ))

Have to agree with Sapphy here.
"as we can see from this screenshot here" -- well, no, actually we can't see any of that, not without changing the gamma setting on our monitors.
On a side note: The Magic Booster has been released? <blink, blink> -
Interesting comment. Actually, they don't. The bone structure is fairly different. Libby's face is rounder and a bit older; Ni has a very narrow face with an odd jaw shape that makes her look like a psycho when she smiles. I guess they both have a few characteristics in common like high cheekbones. They also both have the same skin MAT (IIRC), though the eye colours are obviously different, and so is the hair (in structure as well as colour).
I dunno, maybe appearance really is only skin deep. -
Yeah, I wasn't totally happy with the facial structure either.
-
I picked up this delightful pack of female/female couple poses, and they just need a little tweaking to get them to work with Ni and Libby (because they differ in height).
Nitoichi and Liberty Girl - Together -
Not to upstage CK in any way sape or form, because I place hand-drawn art somewhere stratospherically above what I'm doing, but here's my version of Zorielle.
Zorielle
Happy birthday, Z.
Now, I've got this idea for doing her power suit, but I need to learn to use some other software first so I can make the gauntlets. Until then, shes going to have to be satisfied with LBDs and the like. -
Happy birthday, Z, and nicely done, CK.
Now I'm going to end up spending half today looking for glasses for my Zori model... damn it! -
I'm posting thi for absolutely no other reason than because it looks pretty (IMO, of course).
Ni, Pinup 12
If anyone wants an IC reason for this existing... well, Ni does believe in a little fan-service, and she does have fans. And most of them would probably feint if they saw a photo of her in an outfit like this, but they'd feint happy. -
For about $2, I picked up a small set of Photoshoot backdrops. It consists of an object which provides the floor and a slightly curved wall, like the sheets you see used in photo studios, and a set of about ten 'painted backdrops.' I've been using them for a lot of these pin-up style shots because they do look really fantastic with the right lighting, and they do make it look like a studio photoshoot, which is just what I'm after for these. (And it's quick and easy. That helps too.

From a 3D art perspective, the difference between Nitoichi and Liberty Girl is that Ni's chest expansion is achieved primarily through a set of morphs known as NGM (Natural Gravity Morphs), while Libby (being more of a comic book hero than Ni) gets hers through the standard 'Breast Size', 'Breast Implant', etc sliders. Ni's chest probably has about the same overall volume as Libby's in these models, but Ni's chest doesn't look as large in most of these shots because of the way they, um, hang.
I actually used the different mechanisms in the different models precisely because I wanted to portray Ni as this normal girl who fights crime and Libby as a superhero. (It is kind of undermined by Ni's outrageous muscle structure, but you can't win 'em all, an you?) -
No, B-cups are not huge, but they are the minimum you can get (at 'best') and real women have smaller chests.
Yes, with the general physique of CoH women, larger breasts look 'natural.'
These models aren't in CoH, so I could have given Libby a flat chest, but Dan didn't, so that wouldn't really be right. I might have overdone it a bit, it's posible.
As a man (and a skinny one) I somehow find it 'worse' that I can't create a really skinny male figure, but that's probably just me. -
She's actually fairly short, for a CoH character. I think I made her 5'7" (ish). I had to check up with Dan about her height. She comes in a little shorter than Ni.
And she has enormous boobs! Do you people play the same game as me?! You can't build a CoH female without at least B-cups! -

Don't suppose you know where I can find a cat tail and ears do you?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, but they cost money. The V4 Creature Morphs and AddOns include cat tails and ears. However, those are commercial releases from DAZ and cost money, not huge amounts, but if you're just messing about you may not want to spend.
You might try Renderocity and Renderotica (obvious web site names, I won't link them considering some/all of the content). Both have Free Stuff sections which might get you ears and a tail. I think they both require free site membership to download (not sure about Renderosity). -
There's going to be a follow-up to this when I've bleached Alraune, however, considering this took nearly no effort, I think it looks kind o cool and it gives Dan some more Libby.

The skin came out browner in the render than it was in the model. I may see what I can do about that. I did tint her a little green, but I think I need to get very jiggy with her Specular to give her the right skin tone. I think she should be a bit translucent. I also need to lighten her hair a bit, I think. It's a project...
And, yes, I do plan on doing one of Zorielle. I need some bits, especially glasses and hair, but I spotted some perfect hair recently, and then I need to decide whether to do her in armour or not. She's another project...

Last one for today. I've wanted to do this for ages, but I needed a blue rose.
Alraune
Hope you like her, Z. -
A male render! I don't actually have any clothes that fit him, so he's naked, but don't worry, the framing is delicate.
