I'm digging what the devs are doing with the live events. This sounds way better than the old event.

Look, players who KNOW how the game works, are the ones who figured out farming. They realized what powersets blended well, gave the right amount of buffs or whatever, and figured out farming.

So if we can TEACH a new player how the game works, and they are aware of farming, then they can decide for themselves if it's something they want to do.

And bear in mind. 7 out of 8 people on a farm mission just have to log in. At least if the person doing the farming is doing right. So, for over 80% of farming teams, all we have to do is teach someone how to log in. I think they already have that covered.

I'll can probably lend a hand to this. I'll be looking for ya redside.

Hello, I'm Rasta, the "nice" reviewer on the show as I've been told.

Farm are a part of the game yes.

So what's wrong with just "telling" the new player what exactly a farm is, why they are run, and such? Then if they want to eventually run them themeselves, so be it. I know plenty of people who run farm missions who can still play the game just fine.

I understnad the goal of this project to be to teach new players how the game works. How powersets mesh, how to play a toon to it's most effective. That's good. I don't think we should shy away from letting the new players know what a farm is, but I concur that we shouldn't be actively showing them what one is.

Well, Let's face it, every person is different. What might encourage one person to take part in something, could discourage, or just be a non-factor, for another. We are individuals so each person has thier own motivations. A few suggestions for what may help a vet sign up to be a mentor.

1) Influ/Infamy
2) Hard to get recipie/enhancement
3) Help on earning a badge ( Master ofs, PvP, Accolade badges)

There a few others, that would require a bit more than just a little game time, like if someone whose good with the arts, would be willing to do a sketch or something for someone who offered thier time, or maybe a cameo in a fan-fic from one of the more prominent writers.

And I'm sure some people would be willing to pitch in, just to pitch in, but each person will be motivated by different factors, so having a few options, lined up would be in your best intrests.

Ok, I get the basic idea of what your proposing here, but let me ask this.

Obviously this will take time from the mentors, so aside from a sense of good will, what other incentives might there be for Mentors? I'm not suggesting folks are greedy, but I am implying it. (myself included).

How do Newbies get a mentor? Can they choose from a list? Is the next mentor in line paired up with the next newbie to sign up?

You know, we at PERC have been thinking of having another player auction in a few months. Maybe if you want of course, you could offer your code up as part of it, along with whatever else you'd like to put up for bid as it were. Again just a thought.

Hey Healing, I should be able to help out with some of these events, I would have let you know earlier, but I found out just before leaving for Hero-Con that my work schedule for this week got moved to going in at 9am instead of 3pm. I might still be at work till 7pm ish, but I'll jump on ASAP once I'm home to lend a hand.
