Remember everyone, he asked about playing between 9PM and 12AM. Thats 9 pm at night and midnight PST time. Which is midnight to 3am EST time.
I didnt say that the lower pop servers have nothing going on at all times, im sure they have busy times, but if your going to be playing late at night, the server thats going to require the least amount of effort and a much higher chance of getting a random group invite is Freedom because most people are in bed at night.
to get a group during those times on a low pop server you will have be a social network master like everyone else has suggested. For me, i just log on and take whatever invite comes my way or answer any broadcast team advertisement and have fun with whatever team i find and Freedom is the best server to do that.
  2. 7. Are there servers well populated? Any recommendations for a server if I tend to play between 9PM and 12AM PST?

This is the exact times that I play and if you are a PUG playstyle person like me, in that you like to randomly get invited to join teams and hate leading groups, then the only server you will ever have a chance of getting a team on during those hours is Freedom.
Every other server will be a ghost server during those times once the big rush of GR dies down and the servers return to their natural pop levels.
Even on Freedom ive many times had to log off in boredom after a half hour of no team invites since its after 9pm.
But if you are a solo player, or highly motivated team leader willing to lead small teams or your a guild player that only plays with guildmates, then any server will be good to play on. you might actually even prefer the lower pop servers.
  3. id be interested to see the VEAT and HEAT population explosion after AE was introduced to the game.

AE farm maps made getting to level 50 possible in a couple hours meaning many players that didnt have a lvl 50, now could get access to epic AT's very easy.

i ran into many people that were farming maps just to get a character to level 50 so they could make a VEAT or HEAT.

i would also like to see the lvl 50 population explosion since the AE was released lol....
im sure the devs cant say that having a lvl 50 isnt a common thing anymore
so that could explain the shift of players to EAT's now that more players have access to them.

    Just bought two of 'em.

Gotta admit this one feels a little liteweight. Not quite a full set's worth of costume pieces and it lacks a new power like Self Destruction and Mystic Fortune from the two previous boosters. The lack of a special power is where I think this booster will suffer the most, I know too many players who only picked up the previous boosters for those powers.

After a week or two has passed would one of the devs consider posting sales numbers for the three packs? Would love to see how they stack up against each other. If the specific numbers are something that they'd prefer to keep private how about just a sales ratio?

    [/ QUOTE ]

the bonus power of the super science booster pack is the super tailor feature. which i really dont consider a special power at all, since its the tailor that does all the changes.
and the fact that its only a "science power" is a laughable also.
    direct quote from online store-
"Transform from a 98-pound weakling into a huge beast! Experience spontaneous gender reversal! These amazing things are possible with-science!"
yah right, these things are only possible with science....keep trying devs

i bet the magic booster pack sold the most. with the cool capes, hoods, magic bolero, witch parts and hats, fortune power, I am certain it has to be the most popular. it had the most to offer.
next would be the mac edition with the valkryie parts.
    after that cybog.
  7. It just occured to me that there isnt anything that tells you what gender a character is in the character info.
I never really thought about this before, because usually you can tell gender by the characters appearance/body type and sometimes the name.

But now with the new science booster super tailor feature, body type doesnt mean anything since we can now choose either male or female body types. (im sad no huge females though) So there isnt anyway to tell a characters original gender. unless you ask them lol.

Maybe we need to have the original gender put somewhere in the character info. This way other players can know that my character might have a male body type, but is actually female.
Or maybe it doesnt matter at all?
Its kinda cool being able to change your gender whenever you want.
I could make a male character and decide later on that my character concept would be better female, swap body types, and no one would know the difference. so this booster pack is kinda like a character sex change feature also lol.
whereas WOW makes you pay $15 each time you change your characters gender....this is just a one time fee

I just the other day ran a new character up to level 20 in a farm, in order to power past The Levels Of Agony. Guilty. Guilty as hell.

    [/ QUOTE ]

this is exactly what i do as well. i never powerlevel my characters to 50 since i do want to actually play them.

but ill do anything to get past the pre stamina levels. its actually not the entire lvl 1-20 i hate.
lvl 1-10 goes fast and is fun.
but the trip from lvl 10-20 is pure torture.

the AE has been a blessing in allowing me to create new characters and get them all set up in their 20's nice and fast.
players have asked often for a way to create lvl 20 characters and skip the lower levels and it looks like the devs have given that to us....unintentionally i guess lol

Why delete it? Keep it around to see if Psi gets a buff - then you will already have a level 30 ready to go. You have other slots to make a different blaster in.

OTOH, keep playing it. "Underperforming" doesn't mean you can't play it, just that it may seem a bit harder to level than if you were playing a different Blaster primary. Until you read this thread, did you know you were "underperforming"? If not, then you can go on as before.

    [/ QUOTE ]

its my first blaster. so i wouldnt know if it was gimped or not. but now that i know they are gimped or sorry, "underperforming", how can i keep playing it? when I know now that i could be something better....im going to have blaster envy now everytime i see a fire blaster melt faces!!

deleting it isnt a big deal anyways, getting to level 30 can be done in about a half hour nowadays....
  11. [ QUOTE ]
I've a feeling at least half the answers in this thread are going to be completely wrong. So unless four or five people list the same set, take it with a grain of salt.

well im going to cry now....psi blasters have been mentioned over and over again. waaaaah.
i just got my psi blaster to lvl 30
siggh. guess ill delete it and remake a new one.

so is it just psi blast the primary thats bad?
or is mental manipulation as a secondary ok?

and now im feeling very depressed about my electric armor brute....

the only thing i must do with my screen is that i have to put the health/end bar down near my power tray.
if i dont do that, then i wont notice when my health is low since my eyes are focused on the lower part of the screen watching my powers recharge.
i have no idea how people can pay attention to their hitpoints and endurance when its way up in the top corner of the screen.
I would die all the time if it was up there.

Seriously, how did this turn into people with multiple accounts get a benefit the soloist cannot except that someone who has not a single friend they can trust in the game? Sheesh.

    [/ QUOTE ]

because im pointing out the ways that players can get around the restrictions of trading infl.
the devs should just realise that players are going to transfer infl between their characters and let everyone do it.
this game has a ridiculous system of making players either get second accounts or find another player to transfer inf or use the market place.

i think this is the only game i can think of that doesnt have an in game mail system of transferring funds between characters. is there any other game that doesnt have mail?

    [/ QUOTE ]

whats interesting is that players who pay twice the subscription fees already have this bonus feature.
its called make an alt character on your second account and name it "storage alt" then transfer stuff to it all you want.
players with second accounts dont even have to stop at making one alt, they can have multitudes of storage alts.

too bad that you need to pay more money for this bonus feature though.....would be nice if everyone could do it also.

  17. RasberryRabbit

alright its obvious i have a different viewpoint. I completely disagree that solo players should be forced to used the market place(which has been clearly stated that using the market place to transfer inf is an abuse) or find a second player when they want to transfer infl. Transferring inf should not require the help of another player.

then lets instead talk about the next double standard of transferring inf.
    players with second accounts.
players who decide to pay twice the subscription fees per month get the luxury of being able to transfer infl whenever they want with no market fees and no inconveniences.
players with second accounts easily bypass any restrictions the devs have put in place for trading inf.

while players with single accounts have to deal with the devs restrictions or go around the system using the market place or supergroup bins.

why should people with second accounts get the privilege of trading inf but not players with one account?
if the fact they are paying more money is the only reason then thats sad. paying more money shouldnt allow you to bypass infl transferring restrictions.

if some players get to transfer infl easily, like those with second accounts, then all should be able to. the devs should give us a mail system to transfer infl. so we can all enjoy this luxury.

    Total B.S.
You are not discriminated against in any way. You have exactly the same options available to you as everyone else in the game (who is not on a trial account).

IN YOUR OWN WORDS: "But i dont play this game to make online friends, and supergroups dont fit my playstyle. "
You *CHOOSE* to play in a certain manner and avoid making friends and joining groups. Suck it up and accept the consequences of your own choices. You're hindered in transferring influence because of YOUR decisions, not the Devs'.

    [/ QUOTE ]

this just all goes back to the continuing argument and bad attitude towards solo players that they do not deserve to have the same conveniences that others get.

such as the luxury of being able to transfer inf between your characters with complete and total ease and not having to rely on strangers or use risky things like the market place. i totally disagree that it should be any harder for solo players to transfer inf.

I pay the same $15 a month as everyone else does and if I choose not to join a supergroup, I still should have the same luxury of being able to transfer infl between my characters just as easy as they do.
ill agree that there are certain things solo players should not be able to do and need groups for, im aware that this is an MMO. I accept that i dont have access to base teleporters or medic bays, or solo AV's thats fine. But saying you need to group to transfer infl between your characters is just dumb.
transferring inf between your characters is not a monumental task that you should need to group for lol.
the ability to transfer inf between your characters should be easy and simple for everyone, like a mail system.

the devs may not support it, but inf transfers happen every day and its very easy for some to do, but harder and or risky for others.

It's not a double standard at all. The practice is 'frowned upon' by the devs so there are no systems to facilitate it. Solo players can't start task forces, either. This is not a first person shooter. This game is built around cooperation and teaming. Most of it CAN be soloed, but it's not designed as a solo game so the soloist has some extra hoops to jump through and some things are difficult or even impossible.

    [/ QUOTE ]

it is a double standard. if the devs "frown" upon it and dont want us to transfer inf between characters, then no one should be able to do it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wrong. The devs "frown upon it", but that doesn't mean they're outright against it. It just means they're not going to actively support it, but if someone finds a way as a side-effect of another feature ( which is the case here ), they're not going to go out of their way to stop it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

its still a double standard. here is the definition of double standard -
A double standard is an instance in which certain applications are perceived as acceptable to be used by one group of people, but are (unjustifiably) considered unacceptable—taboo—when used by another group. A double standard, thus, can be described as a sort of biased, morally unfair suspension (toward a certain group, such as solo players) of the principle that all are equal in their freedoms ( to transfer inf between characters )

ill agree the devs arnt totally against transferring inf between characters, but they do try to make it difficult to deter it from happening. and there are players that completely go past those difficulties and have no problems transferring inf, while other players have to deal with those difficulties. thats what think is wrong. it shouldnt be hard for some to transfer inf, but very easy for others.

there should be things in place to prevent everyone from being able to transfer inf easily regardless if your in a supergroup or not.
right now the limitations they have in place only negatively affect solo players or people that are not in a supergroup.
its like the devs saying "nope we do not like players transferring inf between their characters, we do not want that happening....but....if you have friends or supergroup members to help you do it....go right ahead and transfer all you want!! but be warned we will frown at you doing this!
and hey, if your willing to pay us another 15bucks a month and get another account to do it....even better!! "_
  22. RasberryRabbit

    Mistrust

this is what bugs me the most about this games lack of ways to transfer inf between your own characters.
it only hurts and affects solo players.
everyone else has no problems at all and can transfer as much influence as often and as much as they want. they can swap recipes, salvage, anything anytime with their supergroup members.
but solo players cant. solo players get stuck following the restrictive rules that the devs put in place.
im not anti social and i join teams all the time. But i dont play this game to make online friends, and supergroups dont fit my playstyle.
so im one of the players that isnt allowed to transfer inf and has to do wierd market things or trust strangers to get it done.

but obviously the devs have "wasted" time in the past to make a multitude of powers that are by your logic "functionally pointless" because their effects can be replaced by using inspirations.

this is what you are refusing to acknowledge. you do not want to admit that your logic is flawed about not needed a status effect power because we have break frees.

perhaps then you are hiding in stubbornness

Let's also get rid of EVERY ranged attack set and every Melee attack set and replace them with one single target ranged attack, one targeted AoE attack, one cone AoE attack, and one Ground Target AoE attack! [/ QUOTE ]

hmmm sorry but you fail. I have poked a hole in your logic and you have failed to produce a good response.

getting rid of all attacks and having just one attack has nothing to do with the logic you are tying to use for not having pointless powers that can be replaced by using inspirations.
such as why did the devs make damage boosting powers when we could just use red inspirations ect.

now if there was a ranged attack inspiration that when used would blast the enemy, then i would agree.
get rid of ranged attacks because players can just use inspirations instead. this is exactly the kind of logic you are tying to use about not having a status effect resist power.

it looks like you are trying to hide in absurdity....
