  1. Awesome, thanks for the advice. I'll probably hit 26 before I go to work tonight, so now I know what to grab!
  2. Thanks for the great builds Flechette. I'm just getting back into CoX after being away for a while, and stumbled upon this thread while trying to figure out what I was going to roll up after I resubbed. I decided to give Elec/SD a try since I only ever really played 1 scrapper before and he stagnated at level 30 or so. Since I'm starting fresh (for the most part), I'm using your cheap build and more or less following it to the letter as I level (I took chain induction way earlier than you suggest because I don't really need a travel power right now what with having temps, but otherwise it's spot on)

I do, however, have a question. Would it be feasable (and moreover, wise) to replace Manuvers with Hasten? I'm sort of a noob when it comes to IO sets, so I don't really know how important the set you have in Manuvers is. If I can't drop manuvers, can I drop something else, or is Hasten just not that important? I remember back when no build did without it, but I'm not sure if things have changed.

Thanks in advance, and thanks again for the great build advice already given out in this thread. Labor of love, clearly.

    New to the game.

    I'd say Blaster.

Blasters don't have to worry about group support, all you have to do is blow crap up. The lack of defenses will teach you to play smart while solo, as opposed to, say, a /regen or /willpower scrapper who will just mow through everything with mad abandon. Playing a blaster first will teach you to be careful, when to use inspirations, and overall good playing techniques.
  4. Hello folks.

First off, if this question has been answered elsewhere anywhere in the last 2-3 years, I couldn't find it after about 20 minutes of forum searching, so if this is a common question, sorry. I suck at forums.

Now my questions are pretty straight forward: For a newish player, what is more beneficial while leveling a toon, making common IOs or buying DOs/SOs from vendors? If it's better to take the IO route, what level should you start doing so at?

I'm mostly looking for a really general answer that will apply to other people as well as myself. I just came back after some time off, and I never had a really high level toon to supply my others with inf. So, for the sake of argument, assume I have a minimal amount of influence/infamy to my name (Let's say 10mil at level 12, that I won from a costume contest).

What do if I'm looking for the most "bang for my buck"?

    Thanks in advance folks.

That's your senior staff. Seek them out in game.
Sorry to necro a semi-old thread, but I just transferred a toon here that I'd love to RP with some with your group. The toon is named Sea Walker. He's more of a merfolk than an Atlantean, but I think he'd be a good fit for an Atlantis based SG. My global is @LOOK AT IT. Feel free to send me a msg or in game email or something. I'll keep my eye on this thread for your responses.

    The Alt Alphabet

I might be a bad person for this, but I lol'd at Special Olympic.
  7. Question concerning RP chatting:

I often times see people have what looks like an AFK bubble describing their characters speech patterns/accents show up when they are typing. How is this done? I've spent the last 45 minutes looking over binding and macro guides and can't find an answer. A link to how this is done would be appreciated, or an in depth explanation, as I'm a total noob at binds/macros.

    Thanks.
  8. I pretty much agree with Larpus' ideas, but would add that maybe a different headpiece on number 3 would be nice. Maybe a gold or silver winged piece (use the mask you have, recolor it, and add the wings feature from detail 2)

Number 3 also seems a little dark to me, but I'm inclined to think that it's just the screenshot.

If you really wanted to get wonky, you could try mixmatching pieces from Justice, Enforcer, Stealth, Exoproto, and Armored Pads to get more of a "modern armored hero" look.
