If you look closely, it looks like the end of the... whatever it is... extends all the way to the ground.

My guess: it IS the nemesis staff. The hero is standing in an odd position so that the end of the staff is clipping through the ground, concealing the little knob at the end of it. If you look at the picture of the Nem staff, mentally remove that knob, then look at the original screenshot... they are similar.

Sorry, It is not the Nem staff. Remember the Nem staff is ALWAYS in the right hand. The graphic clearly shows whatever it is in the left.

I feel pretty balanced on End usage. Consider that I put those extra recharges in Haymaker and Knockout Blow, the two slowest attacks in SS. As for Hasten, I picked that up after Conserve Power, and usually use those in combination. I like Hasten, but it's very situation for me...I never had back in the perma-Hasten days, so I don't try to run it that way. Anyway...Conserve Power is a key element to having Hasten in this build, I think.

For slotting Unyielding...well, my goal was to eek out every bit of utility from the core powers. Even so, I don't feel starved for the enhancement slots elsewhere.

Yeah.. My Tanker grew up in the Perma Hasten days. I tried Hasten on him once.. What a disaster that was.. LoL. My endurance bar fell so fast it was funny. I used Conserver power as well. But even with it slotted 6 Recharge and Hasten 6 slotted I was still on the dry with endo most of the time. I do understand what you are saying, it all comes down to when and how each tank was made a played that makes the difference.

I am just glad you didn't think I was slammin your work.
  3. I like the guide, good info here.. I do however disagree with a couple of things.. The second recharge in your attack powers will negate the endredux you have in them, not to mention Hasten. My Inv/SS uses 1 Acc, 3 Dmg, 1 End Redux, and 1 Recharge in each attack, he still sucks endo like no tomorrow without hasten. My second problem is slotting up Unyelding. As you said, it gives you a very small boost to resists, I have mine slotted with just 1 end redux, I found the returns on 3 slotting RPD much better.

Just a question here. why would you 3 slot Super Speed? Two slots maxes it from all that I understand, heck most enjoy it with just 1 slot..

Now.. Please do not take my above comments as slights against your build or your guide. As I said earlier it has alot of good info. These are just my insights from playing an Inv/SS to 50.

I do understand this is a concept build. You might want to stress that a bit more, I was very happy to see that you did say this is a high level build. You might want to add that this build should be respeced into. I had the pleasure of running with Havock and talked with him at length about his old superman build. In fact I respeced into it at one time much earlier than I should have. The superman build can be fun but not at lower levels, it just dosen't work without having enough slots..

While I have the utmost respect for _Havok_ and Galcial Ice, as I learned from them too, both have left before current situations came into effect. Things have changed since they departed, and while most of what is now was around since before they left, tactics have definitely changed from when they played extensively. _Havok_ is still one of my heroes in this game, and if he were to come back, I'd support him on pretty much everything. However, I'd want him to get reaquanted with the game before that happened.

Actually.. Glacial Ice is still in the game.. I group with him almost every night..
  5. I have to disagree with the part about always switching targets.. This can lead to serious deaths on your team.. You have to realize that some of the players on your team will be targeting through you.. Now just say.. You hit mob a 1 time, then switch to mob 2.. Picture what happens to said teammate that is targeting through you.. He fires off a blast at mob 1 just as you switch targets.. Oops.. That agro you build up with your attack is now under the damage that you teammate dose.. What happens.. You loose the agro you just built up.. Mob 1 now walks over and punches out the lights of the person who was trying to play good by not getting extra agro with their attack..
Another bad thing about switching targets.. If you are going to do that.. Please make sure that the set of mobs you are fighting are close enough together that your agro field is still touching them all.. Otherwise when you switch targets you will run out of range and loose said agro on the first mobs..

I have a level 50 tanker so I do understand the dynamics of being a tank.. I learned from two of the best how to play a tank.. One of which being _Havoc_ the other being Glacial Ice.. At no time duiring my rise to 50 on my scrapper did I ever see either of them switch targets to hold agro.. Taunt was also sparingly used.. Mostly to hold a big herd together before the nerf to AOE's.. The best method was to rely on your agro field and your AOE's..

Another thing you might want to state.. This is something that I have seen a ton of.. Taunt is a good power.. But you have to be inside the group to use taunt.. You can't just run int a room see a set of mob's across the room and taunt.. Nemeis are the worst.. All this dose is get them to unleash their AOE's on you entire group standing behind you..

Now.. All this being said.. I do think your guide is nice.. Most of it I agree with.. But I just felt the need to state some of my experiences with your idea on the target switching..
  6. I just have one question.. Why in the heck would it be worth it to set up your base for IOP's then run this event and defend your IOP's the whole time when you are going to loose them aynway.. Just sounds kinda silly if you ask me.. Risk v Reward?????? No thanks.. I don't belive our base will EVER go this far.. We have a ton of time and effort in it already and still can't afford the upgrade plot size..

Right now a lot of posts have talked about the high Prestige cost of Base items - and that they're bringing in a ton of Salvage but can't really do anything about it.

Bases, as they currently stand, really focus on mid and large sized groups earning Prestige - so the complaints have a good point. We're trying to work something out so that a smaller group can get something useful quickly - and also put Salvage to use! Can't promise a timeline, but we are working on it.

The problem with the statment about mid to large size SG's.. Well, I am a member of the Paragons of Justice.. We have been around since early beta of COH.. It took us a month to earh the prestige to get a base to function and place just 1 work table.. I have made some cool items.. But said items will cost us well in excess of 4 million prestige to place.. What we have working now is almost 1mil prestige.. So it will take us what 4 months to 5 months to place 3 items we have crafted.. Kind of out of whack if you ask me.
