As for that static team Emmi was talking about, I'm thinking about going with Ice/Fire dominator.

Do think about Poison with your thugs though: the buffs from the Enforcers work quite well when coupled with Poison's debuffs.

But I've heard quite good things about FF too, although I've seen it a lot with Robots to stack with the protector bots' bubbles.

And if you're looking for new MM options, I have a level 32 Thugs/Poison that's really fun to play. You get to spit on people and shoot them too! It would change you from your mostly melee-oriented Necro pets. Up until the Bruiser, you mostly run with a firing squad around you at all times.

Ah yes, the red electricity. It kinda imposed itself for me to pair it with Pain Domination. Now if we could only get those red energy blasts that Dominators get...

MMs tend to level pretty fast - why not try another power combination? Maybe you just haven't found the right pets for you yet?

I know SO MUCH what you're talking about, Em. I used to have a sonic/sonic corruptor and I fell asleep a couple times during missions. It's not that /sonic is a crummy set, it's just that it isn't for everyone. It takes a very special kind of mindset to enjoy.

But what do you think about the Elec/ part?

And I've had a look at your new pet there. That's not a llama, that's an alpaca. And judging by all the fluff, I'd say it's a [b]Trivialpaca[b].

Hey gang! Sorry to hear about the bad things happening to some of you. I hope everything turns out for the better soon.

I also hope you'll all permit me a rare opening of my in-game feelings right now. I lack the pretense of thinking this warrants its own thread and I've always enjoyed the outlook of the Rookerizens. Maybe you'll have an insight that will help me.

I never got a villain to 50. In the low forties, yes, but no 50 yet. I got a SS/WP brute at 42 but I can't bring myself to playing him anymore. It seems I'm always running after Fury and watching for when Rage is gonna crash on me. I got an EM/SR stalker I enjoy a lot, but I always soloed him and the last time I played on a team left me the impression it was better this way. Indeed, every one of my attacks felt too slow and cumbersome compared to the speed at which the rest of the team was killing. (And no, I don't AS and wait for Hide to come back - I hold my ground and scrap it out.) 41 to 50 is a loooooog way if I'm going to solo it all. I don't want to feel like the 5th wheel on a team.

To solve my problem, I've recently created an Elec/Pain corruptor which I enjoy quite a lot. I feel very useful to any team I join because I can equally well dish out damage and support - and I can easily balance the two roles depending on the needs of the team. It's been a fun ride to 21: I've formed and lead my own teams most of the way up. However, in the last week, it started to bog down. Since I hit Sharkhead, it seems I've stepped into a ghost town. I can't recruit anyone anymore, no teams are recruiting either - it's like the whole zone is empty. /whoall reveals maybe a dozen people, half of them way past my level.

I'd really like to be able to hit 50. Because I want to experience the redside high-end content and try out the VEATS. But I don't want to do it at the cost of not experiencing the content on my way to 50 and neglecting the natural development of my skills. I felt bad the other night because I was playing a level 41 stalker on a team and I had never teamed as a stalker before: the result was that I was a lot less useful than I ought to have been. I don't want to be that 40-something corruptor who can't time his buffs in a smart manner when the s*** hits the fan on a LGTF.

What it really all comes down to is: what should I do to have more opportunities to team with smart, funny and interesting people? I know joining an active SG is more often than not the way to go, but I already have my own group that I share with another person, a very close friend. She's not on very often but I'd feel guilty abandonning her, especially ater all the work she's done on the bases!

You know, I came *this* close to hating the MA last night as I found myself incapable of getting a team together (yes, I put together my own teams instead of just waiting for invites). Ah well, here's to hoping I get better luck tonight. I just hit 20 on my Elec/Pain corruptor so I guess I'll move out of Cap to Sharkhead, thus extracting myself from the AE farming smog that hangs over that zone.
