Bots, thugs, and necro - any of the three with /dark will work nicely. The debuffs in tarpatch itself is worth the selection. Edit: demons will work, too. Also if you get a team leader level 25 or higher, you get access to the second tier two pet.
Thermal isn't bad, but its debuffs come late. Forcefields is very safe, but doesn't push your dps. Traps is a good set, set doesn't really get all its gadgets until level 20ish. Don't get me wrong, these secondaries are successful but not optimal for a level 20 push. -
Gang war is magnificently useful for the 2 defense pet auras and the 2 resistance pet auras. As some may not know this aura is based on a radius from the mastermind and affects all pets. Because you do have so much defense already with forcefield generator and the enforcer's defensive maneuvers, I would be tempted to four slot call to arms and two resistance aura bonuses to get the recharge bonus
-
End game or not, it's the AV killer - lots of -regen. Toss some end reduction in it with heavy recharge and hold enhancement.
-
There were occasions before demon summoning when pets would rush into melee, but pets AI was changed when demons came out. The specific example is now that dark servants rushes into melee when before it rarely did.
-
The defense bubbles synergize best with bots, thugs, and ninjas which have defense among the pets in the primary. Ninjas have the best burst damage, and since forcefields don't leverage any damage or debuff foes, that is a nice combo.
-
It's a situation all masterminds deal with. Melee set masterminds like demons, necros and ninjas don't notice it as much. They 'adjusted' the AI with the introduction of demon summoning. Basically it comes down to which power is available, pets attack rate cannot be buffed. The real clinker is that protector bots don't have a melee attack, but they still run in.

For me, earth/kin is a natural fit since the earth does the defense debuff which kinetics craves to land the buff/debuff
-
Brain not awake yet and I am still absorbing the data numbers. I was under the impression that the -speed portion of siphon speed was irresistible in the kinetics set; does that not include -recharge?

First, the big booboos: you have 7 of the Luck of the Gamblers 7.5% recharge enhancers slotted, you can only use 5 in a build. You also have 6 10% regeneration set bonuses. You can use 5. You slotted an IO set enhancement for acc/rec in stamina; you would do so much better with an enhancement with at least a portion of end mod enhancement.
Minor quibble, if you are going to take Force Bubble, you need at least 2 IOs worth of endurance reduction to run it in combat. You six slotted weave for a total of 8% defense. I might put some resistance IO set enhancements for mezz protection in tough with all the incarnate level self-defense. I would slot bullet rain for damage, leaving the defense debuff set in empty clips. Bullet rain and hail of bullets can mow down minions nicely.
I am not a fan of putting too many slots in combat jump or tough - not a fan of fighting pool. I would try to get some of the resistance bonuses for mezzes in tough for sure. You could put a stealth bonus in combat jump, or teleport. -
I have seen storm with a sand theme. It works. Scirocco for tornado. Kind of a shimmering mirage for steamy mist. There are electrical sand storms. You can get raining sand downwind of a major sandstorm - kicked up and dropped down from hot air currents.

I am a dinosaur that still uses Windows XP. Program Files> City of Heroes > [login name] > playernotes.

Use well, with skill and purpose, Necro/Storm has the tools to be a BEAST!

So, an obvious alliance between Null the Gull and DJ Zero would cause Cole's machinations to implode!

Issen, I can't say how far you have played the thermal set. It is very back-loaded in its boss killing and AoE debuffs at level 35 and 38. The new changes to thermal buffing will make your life so much easier with more time for lash and crack the whip! The endurance reducing /resistance buffing Cardiac alpha was tailor made for demon summoning/thermal.

For one thing, most character don't take off until level 26, especially masterminds, defenders and controllers, in general. The other thing I would suggest, alt alt alt, until you find a primary/secondary pairing that clicks.

Quote:That's a big crowd, but I feel the sentiments. I also anticipate a mastermind secondary proliferation soonTM, and my money is on sonic -- although I would go squeeee if cold were proliferated. Sonic, thermal, and forcefields stacking, -- just Wow.So...what do we call it now? 8 Masterminds don't just turn the game to "mush" anymore. We need some ridiculous pudding-like substance that is the perfect metaphor for just how powerful 8 Masterminds will be now...
We would be beating the snot out them or if ghosts the ectoplasm. -

Think about a team of eight, with 2 masterminds, up to 12 regular pets, with 2 click from two masterminds you could have everyone and their pet bubbled/shielded in 5 seconds or so. That's a TON of QoL!

Quote:This was picked up on the defender boardsNoone seems to be mentioning this but, if force fields apply to an entire team at once you could potentially give an entire team powerboosted bubbles. Before this it was limited to only a few during PB's uptime. None of the other buffs are affected by powerboost except maybe kinetics but I think that would be less noticeable if at all.
I may actually finish off my old i6 bots/ff when this goes live. -
I no longer work 3rd shift in the states, but my 'after work' hours used to be the same as the peak hours of the Oceanic crew. It was very irritating.

With the team/league wide 30' defense/resist boost in thermal and FF, I can see these as being very desirable on teams, especially in tandem. That's a LOT of mitigation.
