Dunno yet about Comic Sans tho. I'd imagine it's TOO bold.

[/ QUOTE ] On my system it's the opposite, not bold at all, almost pencil thin, hard to read. I need to figure out how to bold it so I can see the levels on the enhancement icons.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not sure if this will help, but you could try the bold version of Comic Sans MS...the file name should be COMICBD.TTF. Haven't tried it myself, but if anyone uses it, let us know how it goes!

[/ QUOTE ]COMICBD.TTF looks wonderful! There are still minor issues, pet peeves that I can't adjust the boldishness between windows and places so that the bold isn't too bold, but overall it's great.

I don't suppose anyone knows the name of the font file for entity names? The ones that appear above players and mobs and contacts heads.

when you change the name, don't put in the .TFF cause its already a .TFF file and the game doesn't reconize mont_demibold.TFF. But it reconizes mont_demibold if its a .TFF file

get it o_0

just rename it mont_demibold

[u]Note[u]: There are also the commands: /window_hide (or, /hide); /window_show (or, /show) and /windowtoggle (or, /toggle), which also take a <windowname> argument.

[/ QUOTE ]

/hide is not a synonym for /window_hide, despite what /cmdlist reports. /hide will hide that character from search results and /whoall queries.

Kinda added it to paragon wiki, we might make a guide section, and I need to pull the important information into the top section.

Also, what are the max/min numbers? At the beginning you say .64 and 1.54, but later on you specify .54.

Hover Speed

[ QUOTE ]
Hover is getting a 10% speed boost in I8.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes it is, and you can feel it. I had a character on test when they started testing I8 that had 3 Slotted hover and 2 Slotted Swift (for runspeed at the time). Now with 2 Flyspeed in swift, hover feels like a slightly slow fly. Much better than a slightly slow crawl. Once she gets a respec on live, I'm losing the second slot in swift.
10. [ QUOTE ]
Here's a breakdown of Hover speeds for you (with white SO Flight Speed enhancements)...

0-slotted Hover: 4.20 fps ( 2.86 MPH)
1-slotted Hover: 11.19 fps ( 7.63 MPH)
3-slotted Hover: 24.15 fps (16.47 MPH)
6-slotted Hover: 27.30 fps (18.61 MPH)

0-slotted Swift at 50: +2.87 fps (1.95 MPH)
1-slotted Swift at 50: +3.82 fps (2.61 MPH)
3-slotted Swift at 50: +5.59 fps (3.81 MPH)
6-slotted Swift at 50: +6.02 fps (4.10 MPH)

--

1-Hover/0-Swift: 14.06 fps ( 9.59 MPH)
1-Hover/1-Swift: 15.01 fps (10.23 MPH)
1-Hover/3 Swift: 16.78 fps (11.44 MPH)
1-Hover/6 Swift: 17.21 fps (11.73 MPH)

3-Hover/0-Swift: 27.02 fps (18.42 MPH)
3-Hover/1-Swift: 27.97 fps (19.07 MPH)
3-Hover/3 Swift: 29.74 fps (20.28 MPH)
3-Hover/6 Swift: 30.17 fps (20.57 MPH)

6-Hover/0-Swift: 30.17 fps (20.57 MPH)
6-Hover/1-Swift: 31.12 fps (21.22 MPH)
6-Hover/3 Swift: 32.89 fps (22.42 MPH)
6-Hover/6 Swift: 33.32 fps (22.72 MPH)

For my benefit, I quote the OP on base running speed:

Thanks Dwimble, this makes decision making much easier.
11. Why would you need $$ in front of the first command?
12. /bind H "say Here and get up $target $$powexec_auto resurrect$$powexec_name recall friend"

I believe this bind will work as you intend. Target a defeated teammate, hit H and click on the ground next to you, as soon as your teammate shows up the resurrect power activates. (my only emp/* defender doesn't have recall friend, I can't fully test this for ya).

I forsee slight issues when you use it multiple times (even spaced far apart). /powexecauto toggles a power's auto status, and if it's only used on one power then it till turn off the auto status. So you use this bind which toggles on Resurrect's auto status, then 3 minutes later no other power is set to auto, and you're forced to use your bind again, Resurrect's auto status is turned off, teammate shows up, but resurrect doesn't go off automatically.

There is another command, and a property of powexec_auto that might aleviate this altogether. But they will be executed so fast there might be lag and might not work as I intend.

powexec_abort Cancels the auto-attack power and the queued power.
powexec_auto Sets the auto-attack power to given named power (or blank to shut it off, or toggles if it's on already).

TESTING!
BINDS USED
U "me testing auto powers$$powexecauto Brawl$$powexecname Sprint"
I "powexecabort$$me testing auto powers$$powexecauto Brawl$$powexecname Sprint"
O "powexecauto$$me testing auto powers$$powexecauto Brawl$$powexecname Sprint"
P "powexecauto ""$$me testing auto powers$$powexecauto Brawl$$powexecname Sprint"
[ "powexecauto """
RESULTS
"U" acts as I suspected above, every time pressed, toggles Brawl's auto on an off
"I" seems to be ok, repeated keypresses keep Brawl on auto
"O" doesn't do what I want, gives me syntax errors for powexecauto and acts like "U"
"P" seems ok as well. But I worry about quotes in binds.
"[" was there to turn off auto powers and stuff

I recommend this bind:
/bind H "powexecabort$$say Here and get up $target $$powexecauto resurrect$$powexecname recall friend"

17. There were 2 threads in Player Questions, one turned into a UI layout, the other was spawned from the first as a UI layout thread.

Thread 1: Do people still...?: Initial question was about the Chat Bubbles, which the OP turns off.
Thread 2: question about setting up UI: OP refers to Thread 1.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I haven't seen a UI guide.

Is there any way to bind commands to the icons in the powers tray instead of keys? I love the idea of having my character say different phrases when she uses a power, but I hate hate hate assigning powers to keyboard keys.

Instead of assigning a power to a key and having that trigger a phrase, I would much rather be able to just press the "Jab" button on the powers tray and have my character say something witty when she throws a punch. Is that possible?

[/ QUOTE ]In short no. you can do a macro that activates the power. and put it on the tray above or below or take the power off all the way. but then you wouldn't know when it recharged.

[/ QUOTE ]

meh it was late.

[/ QUOTE ]

I saw a thread about "random" quotes from a keypress, through the use of /bindloadfile and about 57 bind files. 90% of those did not have an emote or chat text, but the other 10% had emote and/or chat text.

What you could do is bind the "jab" key (number 1, I assume) to still execute whatever is in slot 1, but load a bind file that rebinds the number 1 to execute whatever is in slot 1 AND chat as well. (which then binds 1 to execute slot 1, binds 1 to execute slot 1, binds 1 to execute slot 1 and say something, binds 1 to execute slot 1, etc, etc).

RANDOM1.TXT
1 "powexecslot 1$$bindloadfile RANDOM2.TXT

RANDOM2.TXT
1 "powexecslot 1$$em jabbity jab jab....... jab$$bindloadfile RANDOM3.TXT

RANDOM3.TXT
1 "powexecslot 1$$bindloadfile RANDOM4.TXT

RANDOM4.TXT
1 "powexecslot 1$$bindloadfile RANDOM5.TXT

RANDOM5.TXT
1 "powexecslot 1$$local $target gets a kidney punch!$$bindloadfile RANDOM1.TXT

And by the time you get that far, just bind the power to a key.

Binds execute left to right, but POWERS in binds execute right to left. This can cause some confusion as to the order to do some things.

I believe powers may be pushed into a LIFO stack as the bind executes.

[/ QUOTE ]

Excellent, excellent insight, Linea_alba! I've tested this and concur. Commands in the bind string are executed from left to right, but POWER COMMANDS in the string are activated from right to left. This is the reason that the "bind_load_file" command is placed at the end (far right) of the bind string... so that the other commands in the string (including powers) have a chance to execute before the new bind is loaded. This is something I should have noticed and mentioned, but didn't. Thanks to fellow gamers like you, great strides are made in our understanding of the game. Excellent and well done!

Bugger. All right, I've rewritten the entire ARRANGING YOUR BIND COMMANDS section to adjust for this realization. The most updated version of my ADVANCED BIND GUIDE can be found here .

[/ QUOTE ]
I would like to point out the reason POWER COMMANDS seem to go right to left. Each time a powexec command is used that will activate a power, the power is queued. When no other power is queued, this queue time is minimal. However when used in binds, where several powers are activated all at once, each activation interupts the previous. An example I cooked up that ALL players can see is /powexecname Brawl$$powexectoggleon Sprint$$powexectoggleon Rest.

I cannot open CoH right now to get the exact syntax. Bear with me

First, turn off Sprint and make sure Rest and Brawl are recharged (not hard to do). Also have an enemy targeted. (out of aggro range, or extremely low level so they don't kill you or run away)
Second, have a tab open that has the "General Combat" channel in it. (by default the Combat tab).
Third, execute this command (bind it to a key or type it). You should see in the General Combat channel "Now readying Brawl", "Now readying Sprint instead of Brawl", and "Now readying Rest instead of Sprint" all right in a row (well... collumn, 3 lines). Rest should be activating and be toggled on shortly.
Execute it again. It should say "Now readying Brawl", and "Now readying Sprint instead of Brawl" but nothing about rest, because rest was already on and there wasn't a need to activate it. So now Sprint toggles on.
Execute it again. It should just say "Now readying Brawl". Sprint and Rest were already on, so no activation needed, so no interupt.

I cannot explain the powexectoggleoff A$$powexectoggleoff A bug.

Great guide though. Favorite'd just in case.

EDIT: Oh, might I suggest a "Last Updated" on your latest guide thingy.

EDIT2: One more thing. Be sure to mention the /unbind command in your CLEARING BINDS FROM KEYS section. /unbind *should* set the key to default. /unbind W would be the same as /bind W +forward, /unbind K *should* be the same as /bind K NOP, but may be /bind K " " as you state in your guide.
I have not tested it with the default chord key binds, such as SHIFT+1 for teamselect 1, only with custom binds, such as the LSHIFT+LBUTTON powexecname TP bind.

EDIT2b: Or not too bee. /bind <key> NOP is useful when you want to ALT+TAB out of CoH but don't want to change targets. Since there's nothing for ALT+TAB, CoH just interpets the TAB which changes targets. /bind ALT+TAB NOP aleviates that. Just an observation, not bind guide worthy.
