  1. The rosters in the first post of that thread aren't accurate. I had to put together the updated rosters from a few different threads and pm's, and several people had mentioned that it would be easier to keep track of rosters if we had a separate roster thread vs the thread that we use for scheduling matches and listing rankings. I was trying to be considerate to both the mods (since we don't want to have to bother them to edit the OP for every roster change) and to the people that don't PvP when I asked for this to be marked to save instead of being stickied. I'm sorry if that wasn't good enough.

    Sticky please.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Do we really want another sticky here, or are we content with marked to not be deleted? I don't care, but there have been compaints about too many stickies.
  3. We'll try to get this marked so it does not get deleted. If you make a roster change, simply copy the whole list, add/remove globals from your team, and note changes (as is adding X player) and availability dates at the bottom. Here are the current rosters as far as I know:

Please keep up with your rosters and make any necessary changes. (Emp, I'm assuming you listed Bug's and r0y's accounts independently in order to make them eligible to all be played in the same match. If I'm mistaken, you can correct that.)

Unless I'm mistaken, lastol and Strong have both expressed interest in joining. Both has experience in arena PvP, so start recuiting (or start selling yourselves to those not at the roster max of 10, guys). GL HF! <3's!!!

    Edited for corrections.
  4. We still only had like 12 or 13 people I think show up last night. I can't imagine a night where we would have more than 15 or 16 available.

lol Me and Skit dead in that screenshot.

Yes, we sucked while playing together as a server. But in minor defense, I've never experienced as much lag as I did in that match; I was basically worthless. That match was actually the direct reason I got a hardware upgrade back then. I think 16 of JP's 17 kills were me.

    Very nice write-up, Foo.

I think ABH was very reluctant to leave Infinity for a while, which is why no one was able to get an official with them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I believe they got their eyes opened when they first fought on Test (like a lot of groups do early on), which is hard to swallow after dominating your own server so thoroughly. From what I understand, initially, the core of the group was motivated to be competitive on Test and worked on strategy and builds to do so. But matches didn't happen often, and eventually there was a split in the competitive drive.

I had joined while LD had been at the top and HVND was going strong. Omega had recruited Lacuna and Mags into ABH around that time as well. Q (ABH founder/leader) was fairly busy with work and rl, as were a number of the original core members at the time, so I remember getting numbers for practice was difficult.

Omega was heading our effort to be more competitive on Test, and Lacunca and Mags were all for it. Q and TGIA weren't opposed to it, but they weren't about to push people into it or anything (not that Omega was, but he wanted the SG to step up our efforts, etc.). You had a number of people like, say, me and Skit that wanted to play, but we didn't feel like it was priority #1 either. Anyway, I've always seen that motivation difference as the root of the big ABH split/drama. Most of the other crap that happened afterwards should've never happened. Different people have different priorities and motivations. I don't care any more about any of it; forgive and forget I guess. It's history.

I think we were on the receiving end (in practices, at least) of some Veng-stacked-enduced beatings, which may've made us overly paranoid about practicing stacking.

off topic maybe but bring back veng stacking pls. i was never part of that scene but it looked fun as [censored].

    [/ QUOTE ]

High-scoring matches may sound like fun, but the whole thing was pretty ridiculous. First, the only way to be competitive on Test at the time was to practice stacking; it's not all that easy to gather and stack veng 3x+. And practicing something like that gets old pretty fast. (Not to mention the exploit available at the time that allowed teams to pre-stack veng.) A lof of matches often simply came down to who could stake veng the best; it didn't matter what kind of skill your team had if it had a single application of veng vs a team that had 5. We all basically agreed to stop the nonsense once a dev (Posi maybe; I don't remember now) came in and said something to the tune of "Yes, it's an exploit. We tried unsuccessfully to correct it. Do what you want with it in the arena/zones."

I personally hated having to fit Veng into my build...and practicing stacking...and wondering if our stacking skills were going to match LD's or whoever. Meh...that kind of thing and the barcode teams were big turn-offs for me back then. I think several of the ABH'rs had similar feelings about the Test environment back then, which was part of the reason for an internal split. The ladder and its rules have helped the Test community incredibly, considering how infrequent matches happened back then.

ABH got into PvP on Infinity as soon as I4 hit. Agent Q was the founder and leader, and TGIA (the guy who listed the initial roster threads here) became their other leader. I got to know most of them through zone fights in those early days, but I didn't join them until later. (Omega, Skittler, Skin, and I were on the same team in the first IPvPL around that time). I participated with them in the initial server fights, which were total lag fests, but they were great for meeting other people interested in PvP.

I know ABH fought some of the early PvP SGs, including LD several times (you can see one of Rift's posts talking about ABH taking them to a rare, 3rd round on the LD site back in 2/07). One of my earliest Test experiences was playing aginst LD in 2 warm-up matches before they took on HVND (which we actually won, but lol practice matches).

    Is this better? (See sig)

dUmb is casual enough that I don't feel pressured into making every practice or playing 4-5 nights a week. I've known most the dUmbies for a long time, and they've always been great to me; so if I'm gonna play a time or two a week (and PvP is what I prefer), then dUmb PvP seemed like the logical move. I think they have few enough available emps now, too, that having me as an option might be handy.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
Damn, dUmb just basically lost all of their sexy points with taking Psoma off the roster, major hit.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, it was never my intention to fight for dUmb on Test, but I had told them that they could add me to the roster if they wanted-just in case they somehow ended up being short on emps for a scheduled match...and I happened to be online atm. There's also the possibility of the team I've been putting together (to PvP on Monday nights) electing to have matches on Test, and that could be a small conflict if I'm already on someone else's roster...actually, I'm not sure the Test server could handle any more sexy than a single HP brings.

  13. Well, this has been an issue for a while, but it's definitely still in I8:

When using Mind Control's Levitate within indoor maps, mobs will sometimes go through the ceiling's geometry. This happened to me several times last night. The problem can be compounded when using TK on the mob (as it will sometimes push the mob into different rooms while still in the ceiling). I've contacted a GM before on a timed mission that I nearly failed, because this bug will sometimes make the mob get stuck in an area that is impossible to target and, therefore, undefeatable (unless you have access to a targeted AoE power...which still doesn't always work). Of course, the lower the ceiling, the more likely this is to happen. Behemoth Overlords and Warhulks in low-ceiling maps are the ideal criteria for replicating this bug.
