  1. Gratz Maz! Was a great night on Monster Island for dinging
  2. Well done Ant. One of the more creative bios I've seen, for sure
  3. [ QUOTE ]

Why not put it in your sigs?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I do

We pestered Bridger about this something rotten in Bristol. He knows about it, he knows it's gotta be done. Just "when" is the thing.
  4. [ QUOTE ]

My pics didnt turn out so well just lots of bright lights and one with the back of honsou head.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I spent the whole raid with Honsou on follow so all I got to see was his backside for 70 minutes!
  5. Lovely pics Hammerfall, I'm using the first one as my new wallpaper You can see me next to Hamid... I mean, Honsou. So hard to tell them apart.
  6. I should be there again. Get one more in before the World Cup starts
  7. Proximity

    Gratz Peak

He also played the most garishly dressed Scrapper you ever did see. Never mind "Blind" from the Illusion set, we just made Highguard stand in front of the rest of us to dazzle the enemies

Gratz to you High on another 50. Didn't ever play with you as Peak, but I'm sure we would have had fun
  8. Nice one Hons, although Noxxus didn't appear to be quite the debt magnet Byrne was!
  9. Well done Chrys, I thought you'd hit 50 ages ago I must admit.

Anyone who can keep Proximity alive when in a big team deserves a lot of respect

Been a long road for you but really glad you made it
  10. Thanks all,

I just want to say that as a totally team-focused build I couldn't have reached 50 without some damn fine teams backing me up and doing all the damage (apart from when I Nova, obviously )

Being an Empath taught me that the only part of the screen you look at are the bars of team-mates health and and the buffs they have. It's been a real learning experience it's been a lot of fun.
  11. "Could you do it again, I missed it!"

Always nice to be in a team with a 50 ding, gratz to you Witch
  12. Yeah I haven't taken Stamina with Moonlit. I find RA does OK, and now I have Conserve Power to use if necessary when RA isn't up.
  13. I would switch out Stealth for Hasten, definitely.

It's a bit strange not having any Stealth (my Blaster had it very early on and my Controller has Steamy Mist) but as Wilfred says, you shouldn't be drawing too much aggro anyway.
  14. Proximity

    Archy bows out

Sorry to see you go Arch. You've always been there to help people in game, and it's always nice to team with someone who knows their AT inside out.

    Take care
  15. Gratz Tenjuo, always fun when we've teamed!
  16. I've found 3-slotted Hover to be invaluable in combat situations because of the "Line of Sight to heal" thing. I have SS for faster movement too.
  17. It IS about hitting things til they fall over. That's what makes Blasters so much fun.

It isn't about repeating the same mistakes over and over again.

I am immensely proud of playing a Blaster who was my first character, and sure, I made mistakes with power picks, with tactics etc but you have to decide what works and what doesn't.

There seems to be a stereotype of the Blaster as aggro-magnet/poor player and it's one that even most Blasters seem to play off of and run with at some point. I certainly have.

I found playing my Blaster was incredibly tactical and calculated simply because if you make one mistake with a mis-used power or not knowing where you are on a map, you die pretty quick.
  18. Thanks for the response Arch.

My level 19 Grav/Stormie has 3x Hold, 1x Acc, 1x Recharge and 1x End Red in Gravity Distortion at the moment, and 1x Acc, 1x Hold and 1x Recharge in Gravity Distortion Field, and I don't seem to be missing too noticibly. Only on DOs at this stage, obviously.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
Sounds like many of the blasters I have teamed with, mentioning no names "cough" Prox, Starstorm, Pyra, Lady Flare, Urbane "cough".

Leave them to it. A blaster without debt is no blaster!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Being a good Blaster means you learn from dying. You need to work out what you can go up against, what to take out first cos it mezzes you etc. It's about being a solo juggernaut and knowing your capabilities yet not being an aggro magnet liability in teams. It's about communication, it's about teamwork.

All Blasters will die, that's a fact, but dying has to mean you learn something or you just repeat a doomed formula.
  20. Gratz to all 3 of you

Must get killed by deathbyproxy in the Arena sometime
  21. I thought there was an -Acc penalty against the mass hold, so I can see why 2x Acc, 2x Recharge, 2x Hold Duration slotting works. But why do you need 2x Acc on the single target hold?

    Just curious
  22. A bit more elaboration:

If we get a few people willing to do a short set each, that I would get some kind of running order so that people knew when they were going on.

Jokes would have to be fairly short and ones that work with only one person typing them out.

The audience wouldn't be there to shout abuse or anything, it should be a frindly, fun environment like the atmosphere at my quiz night - ie a bit of banter but nothing too horrible.

This is how I see the processes:

First Prox welcomes audience, and tells a couple of gags, then introduces first standup. TG goes on stage area, types out a few gags, "noob" chant starts. TG tells a couple of Pyra n00b jokes. Audience raise number cards and laugh. TG leaves. Prox ushers him off tells another gag, introduces next standup.

Nothing too strenuous. It's not like a gameshow or anything. If I can get a couple more people interested in the standup side then I'll try and set a date. It'll definitely be sometime in May though
  23. After the success of Proximity's quiz night on Easter Monday I was racking my brains for something else to do.

    And then it hit me...

"A Mortificator, a Sapper and a Jaeger walk into a bar...."

How about a stand-up comedy night? Hold it in Pocket D, give it a catchy name like Paragon Comedy Central, and get a few aspiring comics to do short routines in front of an appreciative audience. Maybe chuck some Inf around for their efforts.

Would anyone be interested in something like this? I'm sure with some of the personalities we have in this game we could come up with a fun-filled evening. Jokes would have to be fairly clean, obviously, and wouldn't have to be related to Paragon/CoH at all. However there's a few threads on the General Forum with some great short CoH-related gags in like "What do you call a fat Vahzilok? Dead weight"...

I was thinking a weeknight evening from 8pm to maybe 10pm. We'd need a few people to be interested in the stand-up part and some people to heckle, er, applaud their efforts.

I would be up for compere duties if this got off the ground.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?
  24. Well then there's no downside - Air Sup with all those lovely melee-range buffs, mmmmmm
