  1. I go beyond the norm, and have created a whole track for what appears to be 2.0's entire hero career, including the people he meets.

2.0's theme song is "Hero" from Nickelback. It just kinda suits him. That or "Savin' Me".

Blind Messenger has "Running Blind" as a calm, intro song, and I can't remember the name right now, but a fast paced song with the word Blind in it for his battles with 2.0.

Shimmer... Heh... His music is more mysterious, with a dark tune to it. Not TOO dark, but dark enough. I don't remember the name...

...Experiment 3.0's song is creepy. It is by Evanescence and kind of freaks me out sometimes.
  2. Well, Ess, I think we should ALL know by now you are t3h dr4m4 .

Soviet... Well... That was also a given.

For me... Strangely enough, it depends on what music I am listening to at the time. For instance, if I am listening to a dramatic, heroic music, my character is most likely going to be doing something dramatic. Maybe not heroic, but dramatic.

Rock, most likely going to be an aggressive little character.
  3. (( Yes, I know, there are already two out there, but hell, is it MY fault I came up with a story at the same time the others had their ideas awakened in the recesses of their minds? Of course it is! But, let us forget that for a moment...

This, much like for the other RPs, is for those who have met Experiment 2.0. As in, actually have MET him, not have seen him, or fought him, without talking. 2.0 is one of those "Don't trust them till you know them" kind of people.

And, also of his nature, he has tried to contact people any way he can. So, it would go like so...

Natural: Recieve a letter, asking for help, and to come to the Paragon City Times building in Steel Canyon the next day at 9:00 AM if possible. Note, the handwriting would be rather messed up. Come on, he uses tech for a living, and types all of the time. You expect him to write well?

    Science: Same as Natural.

Magic: A mystical voice would most likely reach you, sending the message directly into your mind. However, it would only have the vital information, and sound pretty messed up. 2.0 isn't into the whole "magic" scene.

Mutant: Again, same as natural. Easiest way to reach people normally.

Tech: Seeing as how he is into the whole Tech kind of thing, this would explain the most. It would explain where to go, when, and sort of explain the situation. Over comm. units given by City Hall, or just normal comm. units in general, 2.0's voice would be easily heard, talking about needing a large amount of help by anyone he can trust.

Note; If you have a villain that he has at least met, go ahead and bring them in, he is just gonna give you a rather hard time, at least for a while.

Also note; You can be contacted by any of those means. Letter, Comm., or by the magical wave. I am just pointing out the most likely ways he would contact each origin. You can also personalize the message, since it just wouldn't be nice for him to send the same message to every person.

...And I swear. this has got to be the longest OOC post I have ever written. ))

Earth Titania brought the hammer down upon the Lead Brick, sending the stone-user into the earth.

"Where you belong." muttered the hero, dropping a Tele-pad on the villain.

As he disappeared, Earth felt a sharp ring in his ear. He activated the comm. unit, sending a recorded message through into his ear.

"Earth Titania, this is Experiment 2.0. Do not reply, as I can not get to you. I am too wrapped up in notes right now, so I will make this brief. I need your help. I found some info on the guy that sent in the Assault Drone photo. I think Paragon City may be in mortal danger. Get to the Paragon City times at 9 AM tomorrow. It will arouse less suspicion if you arrive then, asking for John Ballard. People will simply think you just came in for an interview. Now, PDA, begin pulse-recording.

"I am sending messages to everyone I can trust. That may not sound normal, but trust me, I think I will need it when I finally figure this out. I already found the core of one of this guy's battle drones. I will conduct experiments while I explain. Not long ago, I started research on someone Hero Corps. asked me to write about. In a recording, he said he knew me, and it intrigued me. Now, I think I am getting closer to figuring out who this is."

A line of static spreads through the pulse.

"Agh, I don't know what is wrong with this core. It keeps buzzing."

    *Clank*

"Woah, it had an outer panel! Cool! ...What the hell is with the numbers?"

    *Beep...*

    "Oh shi-"

    *CRACKLE* *KZZT*

The pulse continues, spreading that recording out to the comm. units 2.0 had designated.

"Great... Experiment did it again. He blew up the damn lab again." muttered Earth Titania, strolling down the street now. "I swear, that is the third time this week."

    Breaking Out...

The cell door was seperated from the common thugs of Paragon City. It was in the far back, a blue glow emanating from the cell. An armoured guard with an assault rifle peeked in on the device inside.

EMP constructed chains were holding a robot. It was red and black, with a plasma rifle strapped to its back. It also had a few devices strapped to a built-in belt. The eyes were dead.

The guard, satisfied, started walking away.

However, an explosion rocked the building, and the energy supply was destroyed. The power dampeners and EMP holders were disabled.

Slowly, the guard crept back over to the door. He peeked in, only to have his head ripped away, his body slumping to the floor, dead.

The door flew to the other side of the room because of a kick from the robot.

Its thermal scanners beeped across the visual receptors, as a shadow-covered scientist controlled its movements. He sent voice commands through a microphone; "Leech off of Arachnos, and get back to the Rogue Isles. Time for your second test run."

The robot's scanner turned green, showing auto-pilot, as he followed the crowd out of the Ziggursky prison.

Back in the base, Dr. Shimmer placed his hands together. "Hmm... I think I will find some allies... Destroying Paragon City alone with only an assault bot prototype and a few slaves is much more difficult than it appears..."
  5. (( Hey, 'tis the least I can do! I must not let others feel the pain of the loss of a clean keyboard... I believe it was General CoH discussion I had my first spill... Bah, memories... ))
  6. (( You guys really gotta learn not to drink things while reading the CoX forums... I learned that waaaay back...))

An explosion racked the Paragon City Times for the fourth time that morning.

And it was only 2:00 AM.

"Okay, for the last time, who the hell let a hero live under the PCT?!" yelled photographer Karl Jennings.

"Eh, he isn't any harm..." muttered Kevin, an intern of the editor. "At least Ex- the hero hasn't blown the building up yet!"

Then, after returning to his desk, his whispered into a tiny microphone.

"Damnit, John, what did you blow up this time?"

"Listen, Kev..." came a crackled, british response. "I despise getting devices wrong. I hate having malfunctioning devices around, so I set fire to them. I can not help it if the device is explosive!"

"Sure you can! You pour gasoline onto the thing!"

"....It lights up easier. Just get back to covering for me, okay?"

"Look, I doubt that they will believe that you have been in the bathroom for almost..." Kevin looked to his watch. "Fourteen hours now."

"Pfft... Just say I went home last night, and need to get a bus back."

"...Experiment... There ARE no buses around here."

    "Exactly."

    --------------------------

"Exactly." 2.0 replied into his comm. "2.0 out."

Experiment shut off the unit, as he cleared off charred metal and materials from his desk. He blew the last flame from the tip of his hair, which had since grown to his face.

It covered an eye, allowing him to regain the mysterious look he liked from movies and comics.

However, when 2.0 heard a *POOF*, he had to move the hair from his left eye to see who appeared to be some kind of humanoid, green smokey... guy.

"Uh... Who are you, and how the hell did you get into my lab?"

"Experiment... How often do you see green smoke?"

"All the time. The Circle of Thorns uses green everything."

"Ugh. Does the name Hallucinogen ring a bell?" muttered the illusion coolly.

2.0 caught the change in voice. He remembered Hal from the slight transdimensional jumping of the Chess game.

"Ah, the master of illusions! How did he figure out how to send anything here?"

"He has ways... Look, it matters not. Get to MAGI in Atlas Park at 11:30."

"....Ugh... Do I really have to? I kinda wanted to test out this new tracker I got. It only self destructs if someone nearby says 'Pie is disgusting' now."

    "Experiment...."

"Ugh. Fine. Hey, did you contact anyone else I know?"

"...No. I do not think so."

    "Oh. Okay, just wond-"

In another cloud of green smoke, the form disappeared.

The red armoured hero raised an eyebrow.

He had been able to note when Hal was not telling the whole truth before, and he could swear he had sensed it again.

He shrugged it off, looking at his PDA...

Which gave him an almighty jolt.

He was sent flying at the wall behind him, smashing into it, causing an avalanche of devices. After clawing his way out, a disgruntled female voice yelled at him. "You had better not EVER do that to me again! You hear me, Experiment! Never!"
  7. If only... Then you would be Cuppagogue or somesuch nonsense.
  8. Ugh, I tried using Search "Bio/Background" in Guides and Roleplaying, then "Bio/Character", then "Bio/Background Guide", and I couldn't find it...

Most likely, my search-fu is weak, so...
  9. Experiment 2.0 drifted through the air, his new jets pushing him through the air at a cruising speed. He twirled slightly, enjoying the feeling of flying on his own again.

"I swear, from now on, I am taking these things everywhere I go." muttered the hero in red, metallic armour.

He stopped, hovering in place, turning on the hologram of the card once again.

The directions his PDA gave him led him to what seemed like a small group of heroes attacking another CoT ritual...

"Ugh... Magicians...." 2.0 grunted, falling to the earth, and landing softly. He checked his pocket, making sure the chip was not lost during flight. Satisfied, he sidestepped to the door, watching the fight.

"...Uh... Is this the android's birthday or...?"
  10. John Ballard walked through the cubicles, right to the door of the men's bathroom. Then, Bill Karser walked around the corner, with a look of success on his face.

"Hah! I knew it! I knew you had problems! You went in there four hours ago, came out two minutes ago, and are going back in!"

John simply raised an eyebrow, walking in calmly. He closed the door behind him, not bothering to even lock it. He wouldn't be in there long.

"Oh, John?" Bill opened the door slightly, peeking in. "You got a call from Kevin, said that you owed him-"

Bill stopped at the odd sight.

John Ballard, editor of the Paragon City Times, was spinning downward inside a toilet, in a swirly fashion... But actually flying down the drain. After he was gone, Bill looked in, to see the usual tiny pipe and water.

    "....I need help.."

    *********************

John landed quickly in a technologically advanced base, hitting a few keys on a blast door. It slid open, revealing a large room with testing tubes, experimentational devices, and such.

He walked to a cabinet, opening it to reveal an armoured suit, that was very much dented from many missions over his career as a super hero. He pushed that out of the way, and saw a more recent suit, which held so many marks it was impossible to see the colour. John smirked.

"Heh, who would have thought that that stupid chess game could cause so much damage to a single suit?"

He pushed that out of the way, revealing a new suit, an exact carbon copy of his previous suit's previous colour.

    "Send in more armours."

The two old suits and the empty hanger slid into a smelting furnace, as three brand new clones of his armour slid into place. He smiled and closed the door.

He hit a switch, and the armour formed around him, a small device attaching to his wrist.

    *You have [One] new messages.*

"Huh. Play." said Experiment 2.0, and a hologram of a letter floated over the device. He read it quickly, raising his eyebrow once again.

"A birthday for S-6? Eh, while it is odd, I may as well join in. I need a rest from all the action for a while."

2.0 hit a switch on his device, saving the file, and walking over to his desk.

"Well, I know it said no gifts..." Experiment picked up a small microchip, with a tag reading 'Advanced hacking defense for robotics and toasters V1.2', "But heck, I may as well bring this. It needs a testing run, and Essex is a perfect example... I may need to ask her creator if she has any system mods that may reject the coding first though...."
  11. ((Then I am most totally in... Once I figure out how the letter should get to 2.0... Perhaps during his work, which would raise questions... Or... Yeah, definetely the other one... I will post a little later.))
  12. ((Hmm... How about GoCC? Is this after the end of that as well, or before, or during in some other dimension thing...? Not that I was planning to join either... Of course not! Why would you assume such a thing?!.... Uh... Maybe a little...))
  13. Experiment 2.0 will definately attempt to be there... If he can get his new jet-boots ready. Do you know how long it takes to repair those things?

Maybe, when he has to go, ol' Blind Messenger can come along...

Anyway, I will try to be there.

Pocket D is a good choice... But I keep hearing something about... What is it, Blyde Park or something?

Sure, let us go with Blyde, because I am currently dead.

    The Awakening...
    -------------------------------

John had gone back to the Times already, having been rescued by some guy named "GenericHero200014".

He walked into his office, wondering what he had done to deserve this stuff.

By 'this stuff', he mean't the random drops of poison, and a few spines here and there.

He looked around, spotting an odd looking bookcase that didn't seem to be there before...

In all actuality, it had been there the whole time, but John had been too focused on his job to concentrate on it. He walked forward, looking at the books...

"'Prevention of poisoning and antidotes'... Pfft... 'Dealing with sharp, pointy things'... Huh?... 'Pull this book'... What?"

John shrugged, and pulled the book from it's area. The case pulled him into a revolving door, sending him into a deserted part of the sewers... Leading to some kind of base.

"Ok, now I am officially insane..." muttered the editor, walking into the base. He heard some sort of earth crackle, and felt the need to roll forward, and he did. A large piece of rock barely missed the newly-talented John, and he turned in the direction of the attack.

Some guy in a brown sleeveless shirt, and blue jeans looked pretty angry at John for the intrusion. "What the heck do you think you are doing here?!"

Ballard quickly shrugged, and got up, cleaning himself off. This seemed to anger the apparent hero and he pulled an AC unit from the wall... And it trailed to about three. He spun around and around, and let go, flinging the units at John...

    ----------------------------------
  18. ---------------------
    The Massacre
    ---------------------

John woke up, his head searing with pain. He looked around, noticing everything was destroyed, or very badly damaged. The table he had been on, as he looked over, was now on the other side of the room, and where it had been was easy to tell. The wires had been ripped right out of the ground.

He looked at the scientists. All were dead, except they all looked like Crey Technicians. He could tell by the masks and aprons. Where was the head doctor?

Ballard couldn't think about this, as Countess Crey burst into the room, with guards flanking her.

"Just what the hell do you think you are doing here?!" screamed Crey, motioning to the guards to take John.

John did not want to be taken. He started a punch, which he knew would not do anything. It never did...

Or, that is what normally happened.

Once his arm was extended, a poison-tipped spine fired at the guard, hitting him in the chest.

Ballard looked at his wrists, and saw nothing. He punched again, sending another spine flying at the other guard. Eventually, both were dead.

"...I... I didn't mean to kill them..." muttered John, realizing that had been the first time he had spoken since leaving the Times.

"You are going to pay." replied Crey, pulling an odd pistol from her belt.

John recognized it as a Crey Cryo Pistol. He did NOT want to be hit by that. He ran at a window, and leaped out...

Which wasn't a good idea, seeing as how he was now plummeting toward the earth at an increasing speed.

"...But... Normally, when someone gets powers... They can fly... Right?" Ballard muttered to himself, as he fell...

    Then, his brain clicked...

"Fire a spine at this tragectory, aimed at that flagpole. Make sure some sort of line is attached to save myself.." Was all he thought, his brain working at such a fast speed, it was unbelievable.

He did just that. He passed a horizontal flag pole, firing one of his spines. However, he did not expect a sort of organic line to fire also. It became a pseudo-grapple-hook and pulled him into a swing. He dangled on his spine, and waited...

"Uh... Can... Can someone help me up here?!"
  19. (( I recently decided that, since I keep mentioning things about Experiment 2.0's past, I may as well give the origins of him and his nemeses out. ))

    --------------------
    Introductions of the characters...
    --------------------

John Ballard awoke suddenly, pain rushing through his body. He was blinded by a white light, which he could only assume was that of a surgery device.

John tried to look around, but a metal plate over his face kept it in place. He tried to remember what had got him into this situation...

    ---------------------------------

Not long before, John Ballard, editor of the Paragon City Times, had been walking back from work, when he saw a bunch of Crey's Paragon Protectors fly by...

Well, having been a journalist at one point, John's curiosity got the better of him. He followed, camera in hand, to see what was up. It took a while, but he eventually got to an alley, the PPs talking to a respected hero.

"Look, guys, I don't know why your boss said I had stolen those chemicals, but really, I have no idea what you are-"

He was smashed into a wall by a fist with the strength of 5 men. The PP that had knocked the hero out, nodded to the other, but spotted John's camera in a flash of light.

John knew he had been noticed, and ran at an amazing speed away. Not fast enough, though, as the Paragon Protector could fly much faster than John could sprint. An immense pain in the back of his head, and then darkness.

    -------------------------------------------------

That is when John awoke in the odd device he was strapped to, which now let out an odd, mechanical sound as it started up. Ballard felt an odd heat move through his arm, and then pain hit his nerves like a 2X4. He screamed as loud as his lungs would allow, before something started happening to him...

His mutation, the Dark Armour that he never used, manifested itself. But, part of it seperated, take half of the dosage that he was hit with with it. The armour fragment seemed to manifest, glowing red eyes appearing, before entering John's body again, giving him enough strength to stay concious.

"Doctor, his life signs are going haywire. He looks like he is changing!" called a Crey Technician to the head doctor, Dr. Kartask.

"I know... That is the point. However, the subject is not manifesting the needed effects... Why is the dosage not working?" called the doctor back.

John had to think about this... Was he crazy? Or was he the only person in the room able to see shadow-people?

Then, another shot of pain made him forget his musings, and he slumped on the device, unconscious again...

    They have me.

That should be enough to get him on the server, eh guys?

    *Crickets chirp*.

Yeah, we have a heck of a lot of roleplayers on there... Which is why I am sorry I had my main hero on Liberty.

Those guys are rough when I roleplay... Still recovering from that slit wrist...
  21. (Okeydokey, guys. I am way too confused by everything in here... You might want to get a new person to control the guards.)
  22. John stood, seeing Kevin become weakened, and smiled slightly. He looked at his monitors, back at the villain, and at the monitors again...

He hit the switch, and the monitors turned, along with the wall, to show a wall covered in different techno-gadgets.

An invisibility belt, more thermal contact boxes, a net-bazooka, and a few specialized grenades, like flash, smoke, and a normal, blow-em-up grenade.

John pulled off the flash grenades, and the net-gun, covering what he took the best he could from the girl, and the one weakening his ally.

Then, in one quick motion, while the villain was busy draining Kevin, John turned and shot the net. If it hit, it would tie up both the villain and Kevin.

If it didn't, it would simply hit Kevin, who couldn't really help much anyway, but as the net protected itself from powers inside or outside of it from being used to either escape or destroy it, Kevin would be pretty safe.
  23. Kevin, catching a strange occurence, backtracked.

He remembered earlier, seeing John, the Official, and the girl... Now, his thermal sensor caught 4 figures...

He pulled his own 1-shot sap gun from his holster, kicked the door in, and fired, almost in one move.

Meanwhile, John felt the pain in his arms slow him down, as well as the darkness blinding him, but it didn't let him give up. He fell to the ground, but in mid-fall, decided to do a rising round-house kick, attempting to knock the enemy back, even a step, so he could recover.
  24. John's expert ears picked up the rustle, and, in this delicate situation, he did what he always did in this kind of situation.

He turned and pulled a blocking maneuver, similar to that of the Tae Kwon Doe style, into the air.

However, immediately afterward, he reached to his belt, pulling a pistol from a hidden holster.

If the block missed the fist, he would most likely be sent into his camera unit...

If the block hit, however, his arm would hurt like hell, and he would fire the Sapper Pistol to where the hit came from, using his one charge to temporarily shut off the powers of the attacker.
  25. It looked like the official was about to leave the area, but John needed him to stay until they found the stealther, thinking that was the only one they hadn't gotten to yet.

"Oh, by 'da way, sir, I was wonderin' if you had any idea who we wuz tryin' to find."

He had no idea how to stall. Normally, he was the one being stalled by Jenny so Kevin could do something outside of his authority.

"'Cause if we have any guys..." He took a glance at Alex, then away again, "Or girls that may have gotten in, we have to know what we would be lookin' for, y'know?"

John was now getting impatient with himself. He simply couldn't think of a good reason for the official to stay here without revealing to the girl that he knew about her friends.

Then, Ballard thought of something. "'Ey, sir, maybe you could come check this thing out 'round the back? We just got it from 'da tech department, and I ain't got a clue what it does. It looks dangerous, so you might not want to bring the girly, but she can stay safe in 'ere..."
