Do not feel disturbed BillZBubba! I did indeed crop that image! The massiveness of that image unmolested would have killed you all in dead in your seats!

note: I'm still going to do this as a claws brute rather then DM... the damage chain/endurance balance is better that way at this recharge.... not to mention the "eat this" factor of claws animations.
It look amazing except for the accuracy. It's such a balancing act but I don't think this is gonna fair well against +4 bosses due to just that fact. I might be remembering wrong but I thought the goal was around +185% accuracy. That's what I try to shoot for. Seeing SL at +139% makes me worry. That and I hate the thought of muling Brawl. lol I know it won't be used and I myself have muled Boxing on Excelerate with no intent of ever using it but... you 4 slotted brawl!

That's very interesting there. Certainly there are things I don't like but it can't be denied that you hit the softcap across the board. Well done. I'm going to spend some time deconstructing that.

That's a good point. If I can come up with a slot to loose somewhere else I could do that. I'll take another look.

I think it is. That was my intent with the build now, however actually comparing the options I don't see much benefit to using one in Stamina. I did place one in QR to replace the End Mod/Rech. This takes my net recovery from 3.07 down to 2.95 eps. Now we add in the .22 eps gained from the proc that Mids does not reflect for a total eps of 3.17. Not a ton but an improvement nonetheless!

    Let's look at Stamina now.

I have it 2 slotted with normal IOs. If I were to add a slot to it and use 3 Perf Shifters the set bonus would be+28 HP. That's very desirable to me being /WP. The problem here is that I am at the "rule of five" for that bonus already and don't see a place that I might shuffle things around to make it useful, so three slotting with PS would be a waste. Leaving it Two slotted yields a very small return for pulling one IO and replacing it with the Proc. Now my current recovery is 2.95 (remember we have to add in .22). Removing one IO and adding the proc in it's place drops the recovery to 2.76. Factoring the proc in adds .22 again for a total of 2.98. A gain of only .03 that is also subject to a bit of chance as the proc can't be counted on all the time. Not really worth it in Stamina to me then.

Now stealing a slot from someplace and adding it into Stamina to slot it with two basic IOs and the proc probably would be worth it but I don't see a slot I wanna dump when, according to my math (always suspect ), my attack chain is sustainable anyway.

    Whew.

Gah! Well that'll change things then won't it? Yes PF it will!

Sooo to accurately represent the proc I need to math again dammit.

    Here we Gooooooo!

20% chance to get 10% end back every 10 seconds yes?

So that's an average of one proc per 50 seconds returning 11 end on this build, or 11/50 = .22 eps recovered from ONE proc on average right?

That's the rub right there, and why I abandoned this project myself, stalling my Kat/Dark at 47.

I'm too lazy to figure out the attack chain atm and the end needed to make it run but looking at the build it doesn't look good.

Otherwise he looks pretty damn strong though. If the end can be managed he'll be amazing.
  9. First post after a Powerforge! *edit* second dammit.

    Humph!

So now I'm trying to recreate what I saw in Mids last night regarding the slotting of the PS proc. Well Mids doesn't seem to react to it at all now. In or out it doesn't change my numbers at all. So am I crazy? Does Mids reflect the PS proc or not? In my copy broked? I also couldn't open the build I posted from the link but using the data chunk worked fine.

Can someone confirm for me that Mids does or does not accurately represent the PS proc please.

    Thanks.

jeezzz I forgot I was suppose to work on build for this combo...
Maaaann tell me how! That was the goal initially I guess, although I did want the crazy regen available too. I cannot get my defense capped without gimping myself somewhere. The last build I posted looks pretty good to me though. However, if you can cap the defense, just whisper the secret in my ear. I won't tell anyone I swear it!

I'd recommend the proc in both (it's not unique)... and then the P-shift EndMod, and a IO EndMod in each. I believe that's the best way to get end from those 2 powers. It takes 1 more slot then you have.. .you might be able to steal something form your defense powers that are 4 slotted.

Another slightly more endurance efficient trick would be to slot tough in the most endurance effiecient slotting of your resistance sets (since it costs the most endurance of those powers).... I'd slot it with the 2 uniques and 3 aegis there, choosing 3 aegis that give good endurance reduction since the uniques already will give extra +resistance.

I wouldn't give up on trying to find more +defense. I got may Claws/Willpower build completed.. it's at 45+ across the board and has the endurance game balanced to be infinately sustainable. I think DM can do it, too. However, you have more hp and regen then my claws build.
Well I gots a question about this. Normally I would always slot the End proc but this time I actually played around with it im Mids, taking it out and swapping it in. Unless I am remembering incorrectly or Mids figures the end return from the proc wrong, it was better to go without it if I hadn't already entered the "red zone" on the powers end return. In other words, I was getting better numbers in Mids slotting to get the most end return from the power itself since I hadn't reached the cap. As for stealing a slot from the defense powers, I'd be up for that as they're overslotted for effectiveness, but it's helping with my accuracy, which this build is just a tad short on for my tastes.
  12. I had some time to re-evaluate this concept tonight. I also took the time to actually develop an attack chain and figure endurance consumption.

    Talk about a balancing act.

We've lost a bit with the new build but gained a good bit too I think. I now have a gapless attack chain of MG>S>SL>G>S I believe. Endurance also appears to be under control. If my calculations are right the attack chain will burn 27.63 end every 8.048 seconds or 3.43 eps. Recovery is at 3.07 eps with Tactics turned off (Tactics is essentially a mule here for the S/L defense but I also like having the +perc. This power could be dumped for something more useful if I can make up the defense).

This means a net loss of endurance of .36/eps. Out of gas in 111.8 end/.36eps = 310 sec. or 5 minutes 17 sec.

But we now have Dark Consumption. Available every 76 seconds it will yield 43 end against one target alone. This equates to 43/76 = .56eps extra if I am figuring this out correctly.

Soooo recovery is actually 3.07+.56 = 3.63. That's .2eps more than my attack chain costs so it should run indefinitely.

Still a very respectable 35%-39% defense to all types.
    Over 2500 HP!
Regenning 72.9 hps with one foe in range and 118 hps with 10
Siphon life healing 221 hps every 5 seconds
    51% res to S/L
and acceptable acc against +4s even with SD down.

I'll continue to look at this more. If someone would please double check my figures and perhaps figure the dps on the attack chain with one foe?

    Thanks for the advice!

  13. OKok I'll do it. We need to meet up on your server I guess so I can take a video of you. (Oh hellz yaeh!).

    @Powerforge
    @Excelerate

I'll warn ya though. I'm not good at these really. I do them only when I want one which means I have a whopping 3 under my belt. It'll take time for me to get it done.

  15. Thanks for the reply Manic. I'll give it a try and see how wrangling AVs goes with it. I'm sure that regular gameplay will benefit from it immensely.

    Help with AVs

OK, I'm changing my focus on this guy just a little. To be more team friendly I've picked up a few more powers that will help with large groups. I opted to keep RI for this purpose and the fact that, against mobs that don't resist, it soft caps me to all positions. I'm really enjoying him much more now.

  17. It's just come to my attention that I can respec out of my Patron choice.

I know I know. I shoulda known this.

So here's my question. Currently I have a Bot/Dark 50 that is a powerhouse. When deciding on my patron I was up in the air about it. Waffling between Ghost Widow and Scirocco. All I really wanted was an Immobilize for AV fights and either fit the bill. I settled on GW and have enjoyed great success with my MM.

What I didn't know was that Scirocco's Immobilize will actually hold the targets still when they would normallly suffer knockback! You know robots..knockback..bad guys thrown out of Tar Patch.

Sooooo now I am seriously thinking about going Mu. What I wanna know is how does the 10 foot radius compare to the 40' cone with the 25" arc? With a little work I can corral 3 AVs into the cone and get them all immobilized. Will the Electrifying Fences work similarly? I can't really visualize it very well. A 10 foot radius would actually be a 20 foot circle and that seems adequate but I'd like some feedback with people who have used the power please.

Thanks for all the advice everyone! It's good to know that I am actually on the right track here.

I only have a second, as I am stealing a minute at work but I have a big question.

Many of the suggestions here are to dump Black Scorpions power pool. I was under the impression that since I have already chosen his pool I was stuck with it. Is that not right?!? Please tell me I'm mistaken. I'd dearly love to dump that for Mu Mastery!

Thanks for the clarification on that Trick! I was thinking about it later and sorta thought that might be what happened. I had made a test run with only two of the four images and was noticing how it looked a bit better. Then I started thinking about how PS had this palette of colors created that was only 256. So there ya go. More colors means less quality! I geddit now!

    Help with AVs

    Hello Corruptors!

I have several characters that I can solo AVs with, including a few scrappers a Mastermind, and a Blaster who has had limited success. I wanted to try out a Corrupter since they have a reputation as being so good at this sort of thing but I am running into a wall.

I rolled a Fire/Rad and was able to get him kitted out this last weekend. I'll post his build at the end of the thread. I'm really struggling to down AV though. I am getting held, slept, mezzed, a good bit. How does one cope with that? I realize I could eat Break-frees but was kinda hoping to avoid inspirations. The character is softcapped to range (well, almost, I figured RI would take care of the last 3%). I also seem to have a problem getting hit a lot. Maybe it's just the enemies using AoE attacks or something but when I load up a Quarry or a Crystal GM in AE they are wasting me. Checking the combat log show their To Hit chance at 87%!

    What am I doing wrong?

Initially I had planned to use the immobilize in Black Scorpions patron to lock the AV in place but the animation is so long I hate doing it. It does work though and one application of the web will ground fliers so that's nice.

I have been successful against Infernal and Black Scorpion and one other, which I forget. I have been beat down by Viridian, Scirocco, and Woodsman.

Looking at my build I realize I need to reslot Lingering Radiation. I didn't realize it required a To Hit check so I'll fix that. Most likely stealing the slots from Web Cacoon and dropping that power altogether in favor of something more team friendly. I don't expect doing so to really help with AVs/GMs though as survivability seems to be my main problem.

Sorry for the rambling nature of the post. No coffee yet.

    Thanks for any help.

  24. Yeesh!

Here's my first real leap into the world of animated gifs!

While I have made my own animated avatars, it's always a troublesome process for me because I never really went and officially learned the right way to do it. I sort of just kept trying stuff until I had it done.

This time I read a tutorial!

And it still took three hours to make.

I like it though. The quality is a tad low but I don't know how to improve it any. I'll settle for this though, it's good enough.

    Thanks for looking.
