I'm so outta breath from running through people's veins!
Glad you peep like them. Frost was especially cool to work on, since I rarely get a chance to draw someone - how to put it - stout. -
I can't say how many pieces of CoH art I have, but it's several boxes. Individual heroes, I'd guess I've drawn around 400-500, some of them multiple times.
-
Last on the list, but still front row.
And you're getting your own art soon, too.

(is GOT/Bugbite/hollis/charon still around somewhere? or are the pics post-mortem?)
[/ QUOTE ] Got, Hollis and Charon are still around, though Hollis is more of a WoW person now as far as I know. Bugs hasn't played CoH forever, not sure if he's in WoWland as well. -
Tsk, you impatient people.
*goes to make a new thread*
And DB, there's a special wallpaper sized version. -
It's taken us long enough, nay? I posted the inks a while back, but the amazing T!M/Veik had a Herculean task before him when he started coloring this! He did master the challenge though and we can finally present you the finished Guruverse!
The size of this poster is 34*29 inches, 110 characters from the CoX games are spread and hid on it, some created long before the game was in beta! You can find a numbered and named version on the above page, but don't spoil yourself if you want to guess names.
Big shout out to the CoH Guru community and huge thanks to Tim for his amazing color job, it was great working with you and an awesome experience overall!

Okay, I do have Poison on Liberty!
I just need to know now when soneone is around who could invite me.
-
Liberty, eh? I'll have to check if I have a Poison there...
-
I was always thinking of Alex Winter of Bill and Ted fame (you know, not Keanu Reeves)! But it really is Memoriam's player.
The cracks in the skin were his idea, too, so all credit goes to him. -
My namesake Poison is already taken on Virtue, but I'm still free on some other servers.
So if there's room and the server is decided on... why not.
-
My latest piece was a portrait of Memoriam. It turned out pretty sweet, if I may say so myself! Especially the face (and smirk), which is actually the player's own look.
Memoriam is all spiny -
I should have an updated, numbered and colored (mostly flats so far) version up soon!
-
A new and electrifying pic, Alpha Red & Lightning Strike.
Enjoy! -
I registered with DA very long ago, so I was lucky to get Poison there. Would I register today (and naturally not get Poison), I'd go for my real name.
So to answer your question, DJ, people do use their real names. Dave Nakayama, for example, has ~david-nakayama. -
At least until this forum community decides to unite for an even bigger group shot!
-
Zekiran, awesome pic you have there! Makes me want to start another one!
I'd still win if I had called it the biggest CoX group shot.
If you want to see a breathtaking group shot about basically everything, check out http://www.howardhallis.com/artgallery/tpoe/index.html -
I sent a selection of my art. Too bad the poster won't be done in time for the last comic!

I dig the callback to the ol' Kevin Maguire Justice League covers with the CoH twist. Man, 110 characters? Did you get your eyes checked afterwards?
[/ QUOTE ] Actually, the thing that got all of this started was the cover to Civil War Files by the amazing Steve McNiven. Alex Ross' Kingdom Come covers were a big (and challenging) inspiration and I learned a lot about facial expressions from Maguire (LOVE his stuff).
My eyes luckily work as badly as ever. Seriously though, drawing this was a lot of fun and Veikirae had to stop me from adding more and more characters, reminding me that he had to color it all!
[ QUOTE ]
Sooo..Poison....where's the key?
[/ QUOTE ]
Lots of time, a lot more patience, a lot of diskspace for all those screenshots and enough space on the floor to put together all the sheets this was drawn on (the original drawing is 3 feet by 28 inches). -
Heh, sorry about the lurid thread title.
Anyway, I teased a while back that I had been working on a huge CoH project and would post it soon... well, here it is!
The Guruverse
It's the finished lineart for the so called Guruverse poster. The Guruverse (as we decided to call it at some point) is a huge joint project of the CoHGuru.com player community where all community members were able to get in their own or others' City of Heroes/Villains characters. The final count is 110 characters, although I was hoping to put in some more... Some of them you'll know from this community, from the CoH comics, the pre-beta forum or just Virtue (where most of them play).
The one and only Veikira is working on the colors for this baby as we speak, which makes me incredibly proud (having him color it, I mean). I am very much looking forward to see it finished and will upload it to my page RP Visions then.
Hope you all enjoy it! -
A very obvious question, in case nobody actually asked it:
Will characters that have done story arcs, task/strike forces and trials in their past (and have the badges/souvenirs) receive the now rewarded recipes retroactively?
Would be very annoying to have to do every TF and trial again, but redoing story arcs is impossible. So I hope above is planned. -
Thanks all!
I must admit, having fire in a pic makes it a PITA to color, but it's really worth the effort once it's done. -
Hey, nothing against Hot Topic. I really enjoyed those shops the last time I visited the states. And even more so did my gf.
