Ok, here is my basic build. Its a general all purpose build and I want to put procs in it. it is a starting point build, for someone who doesn't have the influence to do all the io sets. So i just wanted a basic build with the procs, as stated before. What do you think? Im more concerned with how the powers are slotted for effectiveness:

I just started playing the new dark/dark sets on a controller. I'm having a lot of fun with it, but as I'm just getting back into the game I have no direction on how to build this alt. I'm looking to do just a very basic IO build with some procs for mez, status, kb and psi prot. Maybe a stealth in sprint. I also posted the pools I thought of having and what powers out of them. If you think of something different feel free to put them instead but please explain why, just out of curiosity. Nothing too fancy for now. By basic I mean no sets. Thank you for your help, in advance. Who will accept this basic challenge and post a Mids build here:
Archetype: Controller
Origin: Magic
Primary: Darkness Control
Secondary: Darkness Affinity
Pools:
Speed: Hasten, Super Speed
Leaping: Super Jump
Concealment: Stealth
APP: Psionic Mastery
Mental Blast
Indomitable Will
Mind Over Body
World of Confusion -

Despite all the crazy levels most of us got..More importantly, we all had FUN!! And, in my case, the last 2 years i haven't been able to play as much as I wouldv'e liked because I had carpal tunnel surgery on BOTH hands, that WAS needed. Now that they are both healing, i have a much-renewed vigor to play the game! I even made a few alts featuring the powersets that have come out in that time and will be playing them along with some other alts and slow-playing them so that when the next 2xp weekend comes along I wont feel the need to 'just get them to 50 because they've been on the back burner and neglected for so long'.

((I made my own thread about 2xp weekend. I will post these remarks there too. Please feel free to add your own their as well. )) -

I agree with the 'controversy' of the 9am EST maintenance shutdown. They did advertise a 10am EST end time today for. They can't use daylight savings as a valid excuse because it did start promptly on time as advertised as well. How come DST didn't have an effect on the start time then and only the end time?
-
Ive never missed a 2xp weekend. Been to every one of them..I have NO idea how I did a session like that and wasn't more exhausted than I was..I relaxed for a few hours and was back at it. I must be getting better with age, like a fine wine.
-
I normally do a whole seperate thread for leveling results but was crammed for time this year with the laptop just getting back to me the Monday before the 2xp weekend..so here's the final results of my leveling:
Mr Ryker...lvl 40 mm to 50
Big Daddy Slick lvl 36 mm to 50
Phaoroh of Phunk lvl 40 scrapper to 50
Arch de Triumph lvl 8 defender to 33
and sat night at 2am began a totally psychotic, mentally-deranged, 17-hour non-stop marathon session by me that only ended with my 3rd 50 of the weekend!
I will post later about my afterthoughts of this 2xp weekend and thoughts on upcoming 2xp weekend(s).
And thank you to all the Cape DJ's for providing awesome music around the clock non-stop. And another big thank you for all the players who helped me achieve my goals this weekend. I DEFINITELY couldn't have done it without you! -
ok...

Phew! Getting tired all over again reading that back! -
Quote:9am ( pacific time) to midnight frid sat sunday some breaks in between for food and cigs. your time (eastern) around mid day
Ok, I will be on then..I might be on earlier getting toons over to PI..have a few things to do Friday morning..a few things came up in RL thrusday...gggrrr..but once we get started the fun will take over and push the bad away until 2xp weekend is over. yes EST noon to 3am works fine. -
Huzzah! Snuck in the mission! Both villians are now Rogues and are in Paragon City! I will get them over to Peregrine Island sometime today along with my lvl 40 hero. I will make my official posting of who i will be levelling this weekend.. This may not be my most spectacular levelling weekend but, hey, it's the participation and fun that counts!!
-
Cien, if you want to do the 'AV Express' all weekend that's fine by me..The last two years or so, between my 2 carpal tunnel surgeries and needing the surgeries I havent played much except on Pogo doing the incarnate trials and on 2xp weekends doing the ITF's..So yeah AV's are fine by me.
-
Update- 1 of the 2 'villians' is now 'Rogue' ..The other one just has to do the last mission then can crossover..i was going to do it early this morning before a full day of errands but server maintennance..ggrrr. So Tonight I will spend moving alts into location for the weekend..And, once again, since I havent played this alts in almost 2 years and was busy this week, they are in desperate need of respecs...Ok plus my laptop was off getting repaired. I'll just be very happy to get through this 2xp weekend this time
-
Ok, got my laptop back, fully repaired so 2xp is a go!!
Just trying to throw out a lot of stuff off my 10-year old pc..This is its last 2xp weekend if I can get it to go...I don't need adobe reader on it do I? I think the onlything I can have on it is CoH and soundblaster lol -
Quote:From the initial sounds of it I would point to the power supply overheating if just simply "shut off without warning". If it were the GPU overheating, then I'd expect a bluescreen crash.
Very good call! while doing a system reboot, i noticed the laptop was getting incredibly hot..then i realized the fan was making NO NOISE which lead me to realize the fan WAS NOT WORKING!! I talked to ACER yesterday. I just shipped the laptop off to their Texas repair center as it is still under warranty. Hopefully I will get it back in working, and CoH playing, order!
Also, I discussed with people at the UPS store..I didn't know this, but there is now laptop cooling trays that plug into the usb ports..I am so getting one in a couple of weeks. -
It happened again before to me..Playing coh..this time I made it to the 2nd mission of the chapter 6 pf the vip patron arc..almost done...and...'blip!!' my whole system just shut down again! ggrr!! this didnt start happening until that warning showed up!!

A couple of weeks ago I started getting this message across the top of my CoX login screen in red letters: 'Important: Your computer appears to be using older drivers for your video card 'AMD Radeon HD 6650M' with driver dated 10-28-2010.' So I went to update them but they were updated..So i weent into the game to play.Twice not even 10 minutes of play time my computer just blinked off with no warning. Everything was going fine. One thing led to another. Basically, I had to do a system reboot today, and followed the forum advice, did the 'hijack this' thing before. I will post all my data I have, because I'm really not sure what I'm looking for. Thank you in advance and I do appreciate the help. Mind you, until a week or two ago I nevr had a problem with this and was playing just fine. The this error popped up.
Oh MY OS is windows 7 home premium 64-bit on an acer aspire 5552g -
And I posted in the developers section too. Thanks.

I've been having problems with my video card and coh the last couple of days.
I have an AMD Radeon HD 6650M.. out of nowhere now, for the last week, the game gives me a red letter warning that my driver is outdated since 2010 (?)
so I go to update the drivers and the websites I use say they are updated already..so I go to play..two times..both times not even ten minutes into playing, my computer blinks off. no warning, just instantaneous shut off.
a friend suggested yesterday uninstall the video card and reinstall..this takes all day as everytime I find a link to reinstall it, its a website where they want me to buy something...finally I call the laptop manufacturer, explain everything...their answer: its obvious its the games fault! I explain, AGAIN, I had NO problems playing until this week..now he wants me to do a complete system reboot. so i have a lot of stuff to save to discs before i do this though. Oh I run windows 7 home premium 64-bit. thanks again.
Is there any help you guys you can give me?
oh, also, I downloaded a catalyst control center, but it gave me an error that it couldnt find a proper graphics adapter.... *sighs*
sorry for any typos, grammar, spelling errors, not much sleep the last week. __________________ -
And then it wont download because : 'your computer does not contain a proper graphics adapter.'
