Current Major base issue:
You can't log out in base and switch characters. you will crash to desktop and have to verify files. Its been reported, but worth adding here. -
Any luck on the transcript yet? I know the base builders are chomping at the bit to find out what was said.

Edit: It shouldnt cause more lag than we have now with 900+ objects in a single room as scafolding for some of our magic desk projects.
Filters can be put in place to shorten those load times during editing. Rather than the tabbed method. Give me a drop down window that lets me pick from (just an example, not even really a suggestion here), Objects: Street: Small: including trashcans, phone booths, boxes, mailboxes, newspaper stands etc...
Or Objects: Street: Large: Cars, Trucks, Dumpsters, etc etc
But, more or less I agree with Peregrine here, there's little reason to not give us the items that can be placed reasonably. Because if they give us say half, you know within 5 posts someones going to say "but where's this item that we asked for and exists"
Itll really need to be an all or nothing deal when and if it happens. Or at least 90%...Id be happy with it...i know others wont. -

Concuring with MS on this one. Please let us know if you need more details on any given issue. I am sure someone here is more than capable of giving or demonstrating many of these issues.
If like SexyJay you need pictures of items we want to see that exist, im pretty sure we can do that too. -

I'd bet it starts getting tricky with things that will be blocking from one angle, and passable on another. For example, you don't want to end up allowing 6 archways across a door rotated so the pillars are all blocking the door.
One solution to that may be to create many new pillars and floatable cross-beams. So they're treated as 3 separate hitboxes, you just need to assemble them yourself.

I think some objects need to be flagged 'walkable' the same as some objects are flagged to allow items to be stacked on them. If the object is flagged as walkable, then pathing can go over them, as long as the height between them and any adjoining wlakable areas is four feet or less, something like that.
I think pathing currently ignores floor height completely. It just sees a floor, and knows it can move through whether that floor is at 0', 4', or 8'.

Pathing Issue
Ok so I cannot place desks any closer to the stones due to pathing, even though there is a clear path. There is other ways to get over the desks....so yet another example here. -

I would like to see more trophies. Specifically, I would like to see trophy salvage drops from various mobs that could be exchanged/crafted into trophies that could be displayed in your base or apartment (). Generic trophies like 'tsoo dagger' or 'carnival mask' could drop from normal mobs randomly, and named mobs could drop very specific items "Baphomet Claw" or "Babbage Spindle"
Also, add trophy salvage drops to every story arc with souveniers. Make the trophy match the souvenier. Would also be nice if players could get these retroactively. Trophy salvage inventory should be much larger than invention salvage, if limited at all.

SG Kill badges
10000 (random number folks dont panic) of X type mob generates a badge for the SG that provides a trophy for that mob type. -
I wouldnt say the entire system needs to be scrapped, but I am rebuilding a base from the ground up and ran into a problem last night that rather left me...perturbed.

The doorways are at 2nd tier height. The room floor is at the bottom. Placement looks as such

I ran three short bridges the length of the the three Xs from the right most door

I tried to place an end to the bridge using the wooden platform and wanted it to go across. The topdoor way. I was told these objects are blocking a clean path between doors.
My question is. in what world?
Should the entire system be scrapped? Probably not
Does it need a swift kick in the [censored]? yep. -
advancing the Non PVP use of the generator so pathing remains.
Combo Unit: +0
Basic Gen: +5 End (benefit to being in a group)
2nd Tier Gen: +10 End
3rd Tier Gen: +15 End
Duration: 1 Hour Real time
Useable: Every 24 Real Time Hours
To avoid abuse with the usabilitty and duration. Though if you wanted to be mean you could make duration 1 Real time hour, usability every 24 Game hours...
Also to the note on bridges: Considering how bridges must currently be mounted to walls (kinda defeats the purpose of a bridge sometimes...) I dont imagine the railings will be an issue. -
Personally I like the pictures. I wish the Arcane ones were more visible from a distance though.
However I do believe we are getting a bit off topic in terms of our pathing concerns.
here is one I am running into right now with my base. I am building a ship in a 4x3 workshop.
Along one side of the room from door to door I have the long wooden bridges creating a path from point A to point B. Now..I am trying to build something in the space adjacent to the bridges and am told I am blocking between doors. however, there is a clean path.
This is something that really should be looked at. Bridges and the one Arcane arch are good examples of things that can "block pathing "even though they don't block anything.

I am at work right now, but an idea just spawned of items that "block pathing" but shouldnt being consolidated into a list in this thread. -
Understanding what is considered blocking would be a help.
As an example look at the Teleport Beacons. You can place them on a wall at around the 5 foot mark and cannot end up placing something directly under them (sometimes) as it is called blocking an item. Yet there is nothing blocking anyone from access to it. -

Just think, odds are we won't see this until Issue 14 , 13 if we are REALLY lucky. But think of how many new maps will be created by the devs between now and then for us to choose from..=)

That I think would be the ideal implimentation of it. God I can't wait for more details. I have been running arcs for my SG for the better part of two years, changing mobs/maps/story to fit the story we wanted to tell for the group. (after the 10th time saving the warrior clan village you really do want to let it just blow up.)
