It's a pickup game of Arena PvP. Everybody joins the match, 2 captains are selected, and they take turns picking players. It's generally open to anyone who wants to join, but be thick-skinned as you will be the fat kid that gets picked last at first. It's also a step up in competitiveness from zones, so bring a reasonable build - it doesn't have to be super purpled and pvp io'd, but have SS/SJ, 41 kb protection, lots o' hit points, etc. Also, have Ventrillo installed before showing up, and ask for Vent settings when joining the match.

If you're going to roll one toon to do better vs. stalkers, roll a stalker. Spend some time in RV chasing around the best PvPers you can find, and enjoy your front-row seat in stalker avoidance class. All of your other toons will benefit from this eye-opening experience.

Definitely fun, but the pre-arranged events don't run. You need to find a buddy who wants to duel you, and create your own match. Most folks find a willing partner in their SG or in Arena chat.

However, Arena is kind of the territory of the experienced, hardcore PvPers. Most folks in there are using decked out level 50 FoTM toons. For casual, mid-level PvP that's a little kinder to more than a few specific powersets, try out some zone PvP in Siren's Call.

They should make it work like phase shift, where if an opponent logs out, then you can log out, and beat their *** on the login screen.

The idea that refusing a reschedule is a dirty move is hurtful to the league, and really needs to be left behind. Being asked to reschedule is always a guaranteed lose-lose situation. Either you refuse and now you're known as the dirty squad of the league, or you accept, and are forced to scrabble together a lineup on short notice that will almost certainly be less competitive and will not reward the players who put in the work and effort to earn a playing spot on the proper league night.

If there is a next season, it would be nice to have mid-season and end-of-season off weeks, during which rescheduled matches could be played on the regular league night, so that teams can actually plan to be available for a rescheduled match with some advance notice.

Also, trying to shame your opponents into bringing a lineup you know you can beat with lame forum posts is probably the gaiest strategy attempted in the league yet - a thousand times gaier than an all-taunter draw lineup, and a million times gaier than a totally legit MM lineup.
