  1. Due to her background, Sabrina San (Dragonfly) who was trained from childhood as a ninja generally believes in human supremacy. After a clan war in her home town, she migrated to Paragon City and has since been at odds with androids like Nene (Number Nine), mutants like fellow teammate Saffron McKenzie (the Amber Banshee) and aliens such as Vanyanarore the Elendevian (Dark Silver). Over the years though, she has made some progress, however little, to accept the fact that here in America, she is surrounded by freaks and there is nothing she can do about it. Either blend in (and watch reruns of Sweet Valley High) or go back home. Come to thing of it, its no wonder she sometimes comes across as anti-hero (or maybe thats just due to her attitude problems).

Anyway, I would imagine its a similar relationship between the civilians of our City and the super-powered. Some folks would feel threatened because they don't really know or understand supers. Some would envy them, and envy leads to hatred. Some would blame them for all their problems. And other civilians, like poor Sabrina, really do support human supremacy and are probably against mutants; the so-called evolution of mankind.

But to wrap up, as has already been said, some civilians in Paragon and the Rogue Isles are indeed anti-mutant, but more so, they are anti-super. Having said that, you'd be hard-pressed to find any of these people out and about. The majority are fans and supporters of brightly coloured spandex.
  2. Gonna have to count me out. I'm at work this whole week.

    [u]Deceased[u]

Dr. Daniel Le Blanc (Phaser), Dr. Micheal Civil (the Ultimate Victorious Y.Freeza), Young Christopher Le Blanc (Vizen), Young Alexander Frost (Huricen) and Miss Emma Frost perished as their starship (the Victoria) was blown to splinters by Rikti dropships. It is believed the crew were set to cross the galaxies in search of help from known alien contacts. They were engaged in battle just under Earth's stratosphere.

    [u]Missing in Action[u]

Sir Igor Noren-ko (Mer'de) was last seen with Vanguard, raiding the damaged Mothership in the Rikti War Zone.
  4. Okay. What levels are we aiming for? Mer'de wont be available for IC reasons, so I'm left with just a few 50's to choose from.

  6. If we can set this to Saturday evening, I'll try and get Mer'de from 35 to 36. Which wont take long.
  7. "Sentinels" said Mer'de. "Order of the Sentinels... the contract binding everyone in this room to a peaceful coalition should be secured under an identity, and perhaps that could be a better name." Mer'de rose from his seat and began packing up his equipment, readying to leave. "An identity doesn't have to be decided now, anyway. Its just a suggestion"
  8. Mer'de spoke "Under Vanguard's plan of action, the Militia will be concentrating their efforts in the War Zone"
  9. Mer'de was as shocked as anyone else to have seen the notorious Pistol present in the room. For a second he contemplated a plan to grab the little woman and throw her in to the authorities. Considering the trouble she'd caused so many across Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, it was almost worth eliminating her somehow and claiming her death as another casualty of war.

"I understand that Big Lunk organised this meeting and hence I am prepared to have him lead this council. So far, from what has been discussed it seems the overall consensus is to keep on protecting the city. As the man at the back of the room mentioned, we are on the defensive end of this invasion and I agree with Big Lunk that we should hold off a counter attack until we have a steady hold on the situation. Perhaps it is a good idea to issue a community service sentence to the Ziggursky prisoners, for want of more combatants against the Rikti. And perhaps those found guilty of treason ie, aiding the Rikti by killing other Earthlings should be sentenced. The government are issuing a state of emergency and I believe its safe to operate under Martial Law"

"Furthermore, I think an official document should be drafted recognizing all members of this Council, and perhaps we aught to give a suitable name to this alliance, this resistance, to solidify the truce between all hero and villain forces represented here tonight; a contract if you will. Lastly, I think we should hold these meetings on a regular basis, coming together with news updates and status reports concerning efforts against the invasion. Perhaps also, we should task somebody to prepare minutes of these discussions. And... for a name of our coalition, might I suggest Terra Refragatio, latin for Earth's resistance."
  10. From the depths of the Shadows two figures emerged; both listed under America's ten most wanted villains. Axel Hunter, a bald, dark-skinned man dared to show his face. He wore an all-black business suit and nestled both hands on a diamond-crowned cane popularly regarded as an icon of power.

"For the duration of this invasion" he announced, with his deep echoing voice. "our syndicate; the Gang plans to focus all its power against the Rikti. I agree to this truce and will not attack any heroes unless attacked"

"Likewise, do I" came the Sicilian-American accent, a feminine voice belonging only to Alicia Barzini, daughter to the Godfather. She stepped out from the shadows just long enough to be identified. "The Marcone and the Barzini families who make up the New Mafia shall concentrate on fighting the Rikti." Alicia paused, a solemn expression across her face. She looked serious. She meant business. "I cannot guarantee that the mafioso will be willing to work with known heroes, however... you have my word that I will not be the one to break the peace we've made here tonight." As quickly as the two had appeared, they were gone, beyond the shadows.
  11. "It appears a lot is already being done. We should congratulate our fellows for the swift and efficient responses" said Mer'de, genuinely impressed by what he'd been hearing. "This armor that you propose Lunk, should prove useful and if any of my team are interested I too shall place orders. In the meantime, while we are all still here, I would like to voice my support for Britanic's proposition of a truce between all heroes and villains. We must work together against a common enemy. Beyond a truce, I would like to see a coalition of all forces represented here today. We must form an official alliance and work together in the war outside this pocket dimension." Mer'de glanced to Coile. "Already, I am glad to here your co-operation ban will be lifted and I look forward to working with the Silent Tempest once again."
  12. Lower graphics settings, and more RAM.
  13. Mer'de watched the prototype designs of Big Lunk's Personal Armour Combat Suite and nodded in approval.

((Oh, I like that! Wait, hang on... is EVIL using the war for BUSINESS?! O.o shame on you!))
  14. The Militia field commander rose in his seat. A beast three times the size of the average human, covered in blue fur and 'clothed' with patches of brown soil.

"An interesting thing, how great minds think alike. Just this afternoon, after the first waves of Rikti did I summon a small team from the Militia and tasked them to research. I had the distinct plan to call a Council of War tomorrow, noon. Of course, you are all still invited to come. Speak with me afterwards for the details" Mer'de paused briefly, readying himself for the introductory section of his planned speech.

"My name is Igor Noren-ko and I am a Journere, a young offspring from a hidden race of beasts under the French Alps. The last time the Rikti invaded our planet, I alone climbed to the surface to help the humans in their fight. This time, I am again, the only Journere caring enough to help, but fortunately I am now in a position to command a fleet of highly skilled, well trained and gifted individuals; the Militia. I heartedly hope that this gathering of team leaders will give us the chance to work together, allies and friends defending that which matters most; our home! Earth"

Mer'de paused to let the message sink in. He only hoped his little speech was enough to encourage those nervous of the world's state of emergency. He had invited along the Militia's trusted technomaniac; the twelve-year old Wild Child, who now placed a small laptop computer on the rounded table.

"Yesterday, the skies over Paragon City were filled with dark, grey thunderheads. The same occurrence in the Etoile Isles, South America, Canada, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and across the globe. Small ships darted through the heavy weather… and there were so very many of them." Mer'de paused again. "Ladies and gentlemen, if you haven't realized it already, the Rikti have returned."

"Since afternoon, the Militia have been gathering information across the globe, most of the work was accomplished by our artificial intelligence supercomputer; Anna. What we have gathered is both reassuring and shocking at the same time. It appears that the Vanguard have indeed suspected the Rikti's approach for quite some time now and have already set up defenses around the Rikti Crash Site, where most of the action seems to be taking place."

"Of course, the Rikti have been fought off before. But this time ladies and gentlemen, they come prepared for super-powered warfare. Aggressive Rikti forces are attacking Paragon City and the Rogue Isle areas at random times and with little warning! The best course of action, it seems, would be for all heroes and villains alike to set aside their differences and co-operate to assist the Vanguard."

"For those of you who do not know what the Vanguard is, they are an all-volunteer force funded by the United Nations Security Council. From the information we have been able to gather, their plan of action is simple; to stem the flood of Rikti and their attempts to salvage their downed Mother Ship."

The laptop suddenly powered up with a silent hum, a cube in the centre of the keyboard glowed green before projecting a three-dimensional hologram of Anna, a woman with blonde hair and a pleasant smile; the human representation of the Militia's supercomputer. As quickly as it had come, the hologram vanished, replaced by a large 'M'. Seconds later, it began to display scrolling information on the Vanguard, then suddenly, it changed to a single image of a costumed woman.

"Lady Grey, leader of Vanguard" Mer'de continued. "Apparently she will be one of many contacts for our resistance. Lady Grey has publicized her plan of action; a series of missions setup for a proven team of super-powered individuals above security clearance forty-five, designed to take the fight to heart of the Rikti Invasion. It appears that this, is a job for the city's most powerful"

Mer'de looked around the room, noticing the rising levels of energy among the heroes, he could feel every single one of them building up courage. He decided to press on. "This isn’t about our history, but about our future. Its an ugly truth, but this is the reality of it; our very existence is at stake. We must join the Vanguard and fight the Rikti!"

Mer'de took his seat and allowed the artificial intelligence to read out her reports. The room echoed with a computerized voice. "The Rikti have somehow found a way to bridge the dimensional gap between their world and ours, once again and are staging raids across the globe, especially Paragon City and the Etoile Isles."

"The Vanguard plan to issue a city-wide alert when zones are being raided. This alert will resound across all radio frequencies, warning us of which zones Rikti attacks are imminent."

"Furthermore, the Rikti bombs appear to be unstable, some do not explode on impact and only embed themselves in the ground. These bombs have been noted to detonate after a certain time, which means they can be disarmed or delayed by inflicting damage upon them."

"More about the Vanguards base: The Vanguard's original base of operations in the Rikti Crash Site has been rebuilt as a fortress, accessible by members of the Vanguard, registered heroes and known villains. Combat within the base has been dampened and heroes and villains have been banned from battling each other, in the hope that they can work together instead. Entry points to the Vanguard bases can be found in the following zones: Atlas Park, Founders Falls, Peregrine Island, Cap au Diable, St. Martial and Grandville."

Anna continues to display a slide-show of visual images, co-ordinated with her presentation.

"The crash site has now officially been dubbed as the Rikti War Zone, for obvious reasons. Upon entering the zone, Levantera, one of the directors of Vanguard, will be the first point of contact. She has been appointed with the responsibility of inducting all interested heroes and villains as honorary member of Vanguard. Other contacts within the base are Borea, Gaussian, Dark Watcher and Serpent Drummer.

"It has been publicaly stated that by joining Vanguard, heroes and villains shall be awarded with Vanguard Merits for their efforts in defeating the Rikti."

"Vanguard reports show that the Rikti have erected energy pylons throughout the area surrounding their sunken ship. However, Vanguard engineers have discovered a way to detect the Rikti Pylons technologically. Apparently, destroying all pylons before the Rikti can replace them will lower the shield on the Rikti Mother Ship in the zone. Following the Vanguard's proposed plan of action, heroes and villains have been asked to plant explosives inside the ventilation systems of the mother ship to cripple the repair effort the Rikti have in progress. However, the Vanguard warns that once enough bombs are planted, it is likely that the Master at Arms will arrive to clear out non-Rikti interlopers! This is the full extent of the Vanguard's current plan of action."

Mer'de rose from his seat. "Thank you Anna. Now, I propose that we join the Vanguard. Tomorrow at noon, a meeting has been scheduled for the Militia and allies in which I plan to present my proposed plan of action. I believe the Militia's best course of action would be to station our Alpha squad in the Rikti War Zone, they can work with Lady Grey. Once business is handled there, they can join the Bravo squad in contributing to the efforts against the mother ship. Meanwhile, both Charlie and Delta squad can be assigned here" said Mer'de, pointing to a specific point on a map displayed in the hologram. "Tasked to rescue operations across the City. Of course, this would not limit Alpha and Bravo to the war zone, their help will most likely be needed in other parts of the City, fighting off the Rikti waves systematically, disarming UXB's and generally protecting civilians. Zortel's team has set up ways to teleport civilians out of the city and Unity Tower is currently being used as a shelter for those who need it. I myself will make sure that Wayne Towers is put to similar use." Mer'de looked around to room, happy to see so many teams represented in one meeting; a council of friends and allies gathered together to plan a resistance in a time of war. "We haven't asked for another alien invasion, but we've got one. The time to act is now and I have never been more certain that I speak for the rest of the Militia, when I offer my allegiance to whatever coalition is formed here tonight."
  15. Sorry, yeah. Northwards is Massachusetts, and it goes inland from there. Teaches me for relying on vidiotmaps.
  16. All information found in these articles can be treated as IC knowledge. The news would likely make television also. Although it mainly part of a plot I'm running with the Gang, NHU and the Militia.

    Pistol Unmasked!

Following a recent investigation involving the FBSA, CIA and Paragon City’s the Vindicators; the true identity of the notorious Pistol was confirmed earlier this week. It has always been speculated that Alicia Barzini, daughter of the mob boss Antonio Barzini and long-standing reserve member of the Vindicators was somehow linked with the underground criminal syndicate known as the Gang.

Alicia Barzini first came to the scene under the alias of Kinasis, a teenage heroine who dedicated her life to the pursuit of Justice. She fought alongside today’s celebrated heroes in the Rikti War and joined the Vindicators soon after. According to Ms Liberty, Kinasis was assigned to deep undercover work in the New York crime scene due to her family links with the mafia, only five years ago. It is believed that Kinasis soon went rogue, adopting the moniker of Pistol to cover up her illegal activities.

In light of this new information the Rogue Isles Police, backed by Longbow Forces were issued an arrest warrant, and permit to raid the home of the Barzini family; Le Scisarose Mansion but the buildings in the compound were found deserted.

Numerous authorities including the Federal Bureau of Super Powered Affairs are appealing for any information on the whereabouts of Alicia Barzini. [cont. pg6]

The Gang wage war in Bloody Bay

For the past few weeks, there have been notable outbursts of battle across the Rogue Isles and invasions into hero bases, including the New Heroes Union, the Militia, the Freedom Phalanx and the Vindicators. All preparing it seemed, for an epic uprising against the City. Last night you might have witnessed bright flashes of energy across the northern horizon towards Bloody Bay and Warburg. These were caused by a series of battles that enraged between over forty heroes of the City, a dozen squads of Longbow Agents, Arachnos and over a hundred villains of the Rogue Isles, including key members of the criminal syndicate known as the Gang.

The villains attempted to strike at the city, but their plans were successfully thwarted by the quick reactions of the City’s heroes, battling off simultaneous attacks from Warburg, Sirens Calls and Bloody Bay. The battle claimed the lives of twelve young heroes and has hospitalized two dozens, including Longbow officers.

Police have recovered CCTV footage from the war-zone showing very clearly the notorious Pistol, leading the attacks against our precious city. The power-crazed ex-hero is now being regarded among the top 10 of America’s most wanted villains. Heroes are warned not to engage the mutant in close combat, but to report sightings immediately. Civilians have been advised to take extreme caution.
  17. Glad everyone enjoyed it. I must say, despite the inevitable lag, it's been the best PvP moments ever. Thank you all who participated, I now have lots of demorecords to fraps into video files, but will be posting screenshots first.

In all fairness, there were lots of times were the fight was well balanced and thats what made it most fun. What Alvan was trying to say however (read his bracketed comment) is that villains won the event. Bloody Bay was a very close call because the heroes pushed us way back INTO our own base, but thanks to E.V.I.L arriving in the nick of time, we managed to push them back and pretty much rolled over them thereon.

Sirens Call started badly for us villains, but a smack or two later, we started using our strengths in numbers, using an umbrella tactic with the the stacked force fields, high defences and spammed heals. We quickly took the zone and it stayed that way for over an hour.

Warburg was indeed very weird, what toon was you playing Majik? Kinda funny in retrospect really. The minute us villains stepped into Warburg, we start fighting each other... victory has to go to the heroes for this one because one, they didn't fight each other and two, they took out two teams of the Gang with repetitive max-buffed nukes, very clever.

Recluse' Victory began at 9pm, sorry. Two reasons. One, our pets wouldn't stop fighting among each other, LOL! And two, there were villains (stalkers especially) bent on fighting other villains INSTEAD of the heroes... so an hour in, we decided to skip Warburg and move to RV. By this time I was really hungry and tired so I kind of wasn't paying attention to the RV battles. In fact, I went afk to make dinner and when I got back my pets were still fighting. LOL

Victory goes to the Villains! 3 : 1 Again, thanks for the awesome fun and hope this kind of event happens again. The highlight of this evening: getting acquainted with the inner warrior in mom.

  21. Max really wants this award and his nominated work really is very good. I on the other hand offered the service of drawing up acting avatars for everyone and it seems these have been greatly influential across the boards. This month must be a very difficult decision for Bridger because I think the two works are both very creative and brilliant in their differences, if I may say so myself.

Anyway point is, I couldn't care less about this award, and Max really wants it, hehe. So I too think he should receive it. But thank you anyway, to those who have supported the nominations for my work, I appreciate that you like them this much and will continue to draw them up.

What made this idea special was the offer to make such avatars for others. Even if the routine must be there by now they do take a lot of time and that is selfless work. Instead of just entertaining Pious has serviced the community. That, especially on this scale, is rare.

The idea is original in its execution. Avatars have populated the whole forum in an unprecedented manner. This phenomenon is something new and fresh. This idea is original. Written and drawn works are very deserving as well but they have been around, and will be around. This creative effort is one of a kind, a unique endeavor.

To commemorate this huge service to such a big part of our forum community I would love to see Pious receive the coveted and prestigious Creative Genius title.
