  1. tl;dr version:

Was the team leader discriminatory in their actions, as per the EULA? Yes.

Was it right for said team leader to do what he did? No... they could have asked the players to refrain from the RP during their time on the team and not said the EULA breaking comments.

Was it right for the OP to call out this person on the forums, the very same forums that said Team Leader could also read and figure out whom the OP is referring to, even without listing the name? No... the OP reported the person for violation of the EULA, and that should have been it. Period. There was no need for this thread to have ever seen the light of day.

As it was said earlier... IBTL.

  2. Known bug... been there practically since changing global chat colors was introduced (Issue 12?).

  3. Got mine from the local Gamestop today... they only got in one copy, and it wasn't even on the shelves (they're very PC game light); I had to ask for it at the counter.

    Arc Reviews

One note on my arc, #1462

Due to an AI issue with /Devices, the Minions and Lieutenants are tending to spam Web Grenade, due to it being the first power in the Devices set. This is something out of my control.

  8. Hi Ruby!

It was nice to have met you very briefly on Virtue when the comic photoshoot with Back Alley Brawler was prepping. Since you said that you have been playing CoX since launch, what would you say is your favorite archetype on each side of the coin?

    Star Strider Force
    Name: Agent Munin
    Global Contact: @Pheonyx
    Reporting on Assignment: Virtue
Level of Alien Threat [High][Medium][low]: Low

Report Details: 11/18/2008 - Attack on Cape Radio broadcast Pyrotechnyx, broadcasting from the roof of Steel Canyon ICON; DJ Pheonyx known for making fun of U'Kon Gr'ai by referring to the warleader as "Charlize". Heroes partying at show easily fought off Rikti forces, including 7 Heavy Assault Units, without the DJ even bothering to break stride or a sweat. I was on the phone with DJ Pheonyx as those around him easily handled the attacking forces with no casualties.

Analysis of Current Situation: Rikti from this dimension are much weaker and/or less bloodthirsty than from the dimension this operative is from. No slaver ships or Rikti Birds of Prey apparent in attacking forces.

Suggestion of Action: Low-yield tactical nuke placed aboard downed Rikti mothership and detonated. Loss of warleader should demoralize remaining Rikti to finally leave this planet alone.

  11. Does anyone know if the Architect will be able to be used offline to create missions and then be able to upload them to the game when you connect? I hope that they do it this way, since that makes the most sense to handle the mission builder.

[ QUOTE ][*] Global Chat Handle reset
All accounts initially start with the ability to change their global chat handle one time. This grant will reset that and allow accounts who had previously changed their global chat handle to do so again. This is a one time chat handle change, so please use it wisely.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Does this mean I am going to have to /gignore all the same RMT spammers I already have /gignored but will now be using a different global chat?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope... just like your gfriend list will adjust to global name changes, so shall your global ignore list IIRC.

  13. I use timecards as my main source of paying for the game (I didn't have a credit card when I started playing, and even though I have a pre-paid one now it's still easier for me to use timecards), and the biggest thing is that the so-called "game shops" like GameStop and EB Games (or as I like to call them, the "console stores") only sell them online... so with shipping and such, it's much more expensive than going to the store. I have to go to a Best Buy that is 12 miles away and hope they are in stock (which they haven't lately) because I can't buy one from the GameStop which is a half mile down the road.

  14. Virtue is often referred to as the "Unofficial RP Server" due to the more active and visible RP contingent. Hope this helps.

  15. YES! I made it into the comic!

You can see my character on page 15, first panel... I am standing WAY off in the background left side of the panel, the character with the yellow glasses. The comic is really cool; too bad there wasn't more of the dialogue from some of the attendees in there.

My favorite line from me during that event (when all heck broke loose): "DUDE! Recluse got pwned!"

  16. I was on Virtue, and while there were some problems (lag in certain heavily used zones, game locked up so completely loading into a TF mission that I had to actually shut the program down through the Processes tab in Task Manager), the biggest one was the global chat server flaked out constantly. We've had this bug where global chat channels would occasionally drop from the chat tab and you would have to re-add them... during Double XP Weekend, this was happening to me every 10-15 minutes. I would get some chat and then the globals would go silent... I'd check the tab, and sure enough they removed themselves AGAIN! I belong to a combination SG/VG, and our group uses the group's global channel as our main form of communication/team-building since some of us would be running blueside and others running redside while having a Ventrilo server for TFs and general things (not all of our SG mates use Ventrilo, so it's option B)... we had to use Vent as our main source of communication. That's bad when an outside program had to be used because the ingame system failed horribly this weekend.

Oh, and I kept a tally of how many times the globals disappeared on me during the Double XP Weekend when I was logged in: 73 times. 73 times I had to re-add my globals to my chat tab and/or the globals were completely greyed out. Since this bug hit initially, I've had to re-add them a total of 3 times since the server upgrades and before Double XP Weekend.

Other than that, the servers did well.

  17. [ QUOTE ]

NCSoft is looking at IPs, not actual games, to put on PS3 (and maybe other consoles). So, if City of Heroes is ever translated to PS3 ... it won't be this City of Heroes. It'd either be a PS3-specific version (with it's own servers, and likely it's own forums - to avoid confusion if nothign else) ... or it'd be [u]City of Heroes 2[u], designed as a game that works well on either platform.

Either way, that's good news for us, IMO.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I believe it won't be City of Heroes 2... it'd be more like a Marvel Ultimate Alliance game where you can actually play the members of the Freedom Phalanx or possibly an Oblivion/KoTOR style RPG.

If it is going to be something for the consoles, I think it's going to be something new, not just an MMO port. They are talking about the IP, meaning the characters, storyline and setting; it leaves them open to build any type of game, hopefully using that game to bring in more subscribers (as in "if you like this game, imagine creating your OWN character in this world and interacting with many others")

Remember Everquest: Champions of Norrath? It wasn't the MMO, but based in the MMO's world. I believe that is what is going to happen; standalone games based in the CoX world, but not the MMO itself.

  19. I loved Night Prayers... it just makes me long for the players to actually have the walking animation. Also, I have a character that looks and dresses almost exactly to the girl with the sword; the scary thing is that the character just happens to be a MA/SR Scrapper

  21. The person who did the voiceover sounded a little like Patrick Stewart... I know it wasn't him, but it did sound similar. I like that, especially since Stewart is a Shakespearian actor, it lends an air of class to the video. The person could probably do a Stewart impression given time.

Thanks Gaderath! Now ... Which wings to buy with the points!

Pheonyx, I have the requests off atm, only because I have a couple of hard projects coming up and I don't know how long it'll take to complete them. I'm trying not to add more because I don't want anyone waiting many months on end for a render. I'll try and take new requests as soon as I can. I'll also update when I finished all my current projects.

It's cool... I am more than willing to wait; I'll keep an eye on the thread and hope I don't get sniped by 50 people who see your fantastic work
