NEED NEW NEWS ABOUT GOING ROGUE!
The marketing Department has failed this game at almost every possible juncture. I am still telling gamers about this game as they do not know it exists.
We are your loyal followers... loyal subscribers... and we are getting bored waiting around for information.
Tell marketing they suck. -
I know what it means you dork!
And as I stated previously which you, I guess ignored?!
I am the Queen fangurl of the Castle is Awesome club, hereby inform you that since he has an Official club of awesomeness that it is my buissnessSo there.

Quote:Go and slap them because we just sit around waiting for news of Going Rogue... or frankly Anything... Anything.Concerning what exactly?
I could just go in and slap them and be perfectly content...but it might help if I can scream something at them while the slapping action happens.
No news is boring. -
Quote:>.< Casual games don't have to be easy all the time. Casual games don't have to have instantaneous rewards all the time. Casual games don't mean that players shouldn't be expected to have to work for a reward. Casual games don't imply that all possible rewards should be available to you. People that play casually don't care about the rewards as much as more hard-core folks (hence the use of casual). If they cared, they'd play more and earn the loot.
Why does everything in this game have to be accessible to everyone at every time? Why not reward someone for using their brains once in a while instead of their twitch skills, or their ability to click powers in the correct order to not die?
Something in the game that you might fail at once in a while that's not PvP? Oh, no! Heaven forbid we should have to be inadequate once or twice, and maybe try a different tactic the next time. If they're going to go this route, with puzzle-based content, it shouldn't all be optional, otherwise it will just be ignored by all but the diehards. See Gladiator matches for an example that's already in the game. It was a decent idea, but poorly implemented, and utterly optional once you collect the few badges associated with them, and no one does them.
Make content have a reward worth obtaining. The harder the task, the bigger the reward.
What? I said this game is casual friendly, meaning most people I know that are casual dont want to bash their face against their keyboard over and over just to complete a puzzle to get X reward. That is more of a headache than just playing the game. -
You dunno what your talking about. Castle is the most prestigious Dev we have staffed over there in Paragon studios. He has the most power and awesomeness we got going for this game. He is like the sun coming out from the dark clouds on a rainy day.
Don't you ever say "Nunyo" again! You should instead get on my badnwagon of awesomeness -
I am working on something super secret!
He will never know what hit'em!!!
Muah Ha Ha Ha Ha!!! -
Quote:My husband said bird watching wasnt a good enough reason to spend that much money on a telescope that can actually see 3000 miles awayPsssh, if you were a true fangurl, you'd already know all the answers, having been observing him through your high-powered telescope for the past three months.

How was your winter vacation? Did you have fun? What was the coolest present you got this year? Oh wait?! What was the coolest gift you gave out this year?
How's work been treating you?

If you make puzzles to hard people will log off.
(this is a casual friendly game)
If you make puzzles to easy... People wonder why you bothered.
I mean?! Couldn't that developement time been used doing something better?
In order to find the correct difficulty for the puzzle I think it would take more time than it is actually worth. Especially when you have people buggin over weather or animated hair. 2 things I think get dull after 5 minutes.
But with puzzles, they are only but so fun til they lose their awesomeness.
Puzzles that need to be completed in order to get exp suck. Do not want.
Puzzles that unlock costumes pieces suck. Do not want...
Puzzles to stand around and do with your friends in pocket d? maybe.
I never go into pocket d, unless an event is going on thoe. -
What kinda low end computer did you base the frames per second rate on?
Cuz like... I doubt something in this game would stutter my computer like that.
Just ask people to upgrade -
Before they brought that stupid tier system to Champions, the game and leveling was about 40 billion percent more fun. They had it all Before they started limiting us. And with those limits came a great dislike for their dev staff over there, who IMO had no idea how crappy the tier system was.
It did not help that *AFTER* the game went live is when they started balancing the powers. Every single power I enjoyed having on my characters who NEVER pvped got nerfed to hell, to make the entire game just not fun.
It's like they said, hmmm what powers are really fun in PvE?
Those will be the first to have their damage reduced by 80%. -
You just brought up the brain shattering turning moment for me in the Champs Alpha...
I was admittedly harping on how awesome it is to log into Atlas Park as a first time player. How awesome the music is, the whole ambiance of the moment. It's exciting! You can see CRIME happening all around you. And the non-existant police force obviously needs some help.
AND BAM! There you are! Hero-whoever to Save the day!
That is like "epic" to me.
And Jack send me a PM asking me... "What is so immersive about Atlas Park?"
And I was like ?!!!!!?!!!! What do you mean you dont know???? You dont know?????
And he didn't know. And I was like ???!!!!! How do you not know???!!!!
So I send him a longer version of what I just typed here. I went into more details.
And I swear to God... what showed up in the next few weeks was the Crisis areas of the current zones.
My heart was BROKEN. It was all downhill from there. -
Err what i was getting at in a really round about way >.>
I played Age of Conan for the first 3 months... and quit. To me the constant nerfs to powers just sucked every ounce of fun from that game. At launch time... I only got up to 49 and quit.
We checked back in through the year, but we resubbed for 3 months each because the game has improved alot.
While I have a Lt membership to CO... I check back in with that game. But sadly wow they still only have 5 zones... and the gameplay is still a total borefest. I dont think CO will improve until Bill gets FIRED.. That guy has done nothing but run that game into the ground. -
Quote:I just logged off of my lvl 51 Bear Shaman. I have a full book of 32 quests and zillions of quests to go grab when these are done. Some are Epic foes in little dungeons spread across Field of the Dead... and others are quests spread across maybe 10 lavish zones. I haven't even gotten to some of the zones I have quests waiting for me in yet.I was kinda interested in AoC but then everyone stops talking. I had gotten used to listening instead of reading and then I took a boat and everyone became mute. I didn't even finish up the free time because I didn't want to see what I liked that stopped working as I progressed.
AoC still presents itself as an unfinished product as of August 09.
They still have the 24 hours of ingame Double Exp Potions available by pressing /claim
When people talk about AoC being an unfinished mess, I might suggest they play the game instead of powergrinding through the whole thing... People who say there is nothing to do... are the same people who say Champions Online is the end all be all of MMOing in the New Millenium.
(otherwise they are full of ***) -
if you walk into your local best buy and stand in the games section, or local computer store... and mention CoX people are like "wha?".
-
Something I think marketing is full of phailure with is this... If people dont here anything about Going Rogue... as people have not heard anything... people wont buy it.
I am still telling GAMERS about City of Heroes, they have NEVER HEARD OF IT...
NEVER HEARD OF IT IN 5 YEARS... -
I would be happy if they just... had PvP in the arena's... and changed the PvP zones into FLAGGED pvp zones... I think it would be cool to watch PvP while I bumble through the zones doing new content...
I would be flagged NO PVP on all my alts all the time, but I would go in there to do PvE content. -

I fully understand Jack's vision for CO. We talked about it alot in PM's during Alpha.
Guess what?! The game is NOTHING like what he had envisioned.
And - when Bill came - the game went further and further from his original vision.
err edit:
The original vision as I understood it was just a more open City of Heroes. More open being "our" your characters. Having more choices. Not being stereotyped into one thing... "Oh your a scrapper" or "No you are a tank! Do your job!"!!
The worlds/zones were supposed to be more indepth instead of the stagnent zones we have here like IP or Steel Canyon. The world was supposed to be engaging, draw you in.
Things IMO got all ****** up when they decided "loot" needed to be in the game... or when they announced PvP was gonna be the balancing factor for the entire game...
When Jack stepped out of the picture I think internally that things really began to shatter at Cryptic for the goals of CO. When Atari stepped in and someone told them Star Trek is going to be the Next WoW. It's like the companies entire focus got disrupted and everything started to be rushed. instead of putting the time and effort into that game that was needed... They just started inviting more and more people to each wave of beta testing without fixing any of the stuff we were reporting as failures of the game. More and more people flooded the forums, not even testing the game... Just shoveling large heeping spoonfuls of praise down the Devs throats. Not helping the process at all. Going through extreme fanboi rage at anyone who was trying to say "HEY TEAMING DOESNT EXIST IN THIS GAME?!" Fanboi's nerdrage shot that stuff out of the sky.
It was as if all the important people who were working on CO left. And in stepped their replacements just trying to finish stuff up and send it out the door not listening to the feedback. Not trying to make the game better... Just get it out the door. -
I dont even want Going Rogue now.
I want some Damn information.
The marketing team for this game is terrible.
I do not believe they are worth what they get paid to do.
They should take a 50% pay cut. -
I would put money down that CO is hemorrhaging subscribers.
Have you seen their forums? Geeze.
15 fanboi's versus Everyone else.
:edit:
and I mean... half of the everyone else was a diehard fanboi less than 2 months ago... -
* The game is closing in 30 days
-
I do not think CO made a dent. What happened is the 12 people who were unsatisfied with this game went over there with all their illusions of grandeur in believing that game would be this games successor... and now they are over there making fanboi posts.
Theres like 12 of them... in the sea of unsatisfied gamers. They are kinda cute.
I believe the things that hinder this game are not enough NEWS about upcoming expansions, and wheres the next free update? Question mark... and well... the economy in the US sucks right now. -
unrelated...
I was mad for like 10 minutes that CO didn't turn out to be as awesome as CoX is/was/future.
I just thought I would add that since is a complaint thread. -
Quote:I don't think you are actually understanding what I am typing. You are bringing your own angst into what I am saying and then diluting what I say to meet your expectations. Sadly. And you find my post hillarious??? Half of it was quoting you, so I guess I have to agree, a laugh riot! But seriously, there are those who find this game a way to relax and a frequent means of creative expression, sadly we must share the same cyberspace with those who are here to simply chew through content, get board, and ***** about it on the boards. And let me get this straight, you are actually doing this between two games at the same time??? Really? Are you sure you actually get out much? How can one person have the time to go threw ALL the content of multiple MMOs and then have enough time to hang around here to complain, and still find the time to have an actual life. I guess I really am just a casual player.
I come to the boards waiting for information. Simple. And when they just leave us in the dark... and they want us, same people to shell out additional money for what they are working on... I find it counter productive. I do however enjoy reading people ***** and moan about my posts... complaining about complainers is popular on this forum. lol
