No one seemed to have an answer tho this when I asked before: Does Lightning Reflexes boost Fly Speed?
-
I believe that even if they are attacking in response to attack made against you they remain in def follow mode and you still benefit from bodyguard as long as they remain close enough. Prefer melee pets will be worse bodyguards.
-
AA has a larger aoe, and causes confusion and fear. However it takes much more endurance to run, realy needs 3 endrecs, whereas CE is fine with 1.
-
Yes I went with robots because I wanted the Protectors shields to maximise defense, since this will protect both the MM and his bodyguards. However /dark should have a similar effect.
/TA would probably give you the best damage (I get about -40% res), but then you would need to take ninjas to avoid constantly having to redraw your bow, and since ninjas prefer melee it would be harder to keep them close. -
I would think any MM primary attacks are weak damage (correct me if I'm wrong). I was using the Acid Morter to debuff resisance. Dark, Poison or TA might work better as secondaries, I think TA has the biggest possible resisance debuff.
I'm not really thinking of doing this, its intended as a discussion point. -
AKA Tank-Mage
Designed to use the tier 1 and 2 henchmen simply as bodyguards, and blast.

I don't suppose Lightning Reflexes affects Fly/Hover speed? I assume it's the same as the SR power.
-
Can't see that happening in PvE very often.
Not everyone has TP foe strangely enough. -

Third Hench Upgrade (grants Patron-themed power to henchmen - hold or immob maybe)
[/ QUOTE ]
This is out because of the huge abount of work required 3 levels of henchman x 4 patrons x5 sets = 60(!) new versions of the henchmen, each requiring new AI which has to be carefully tested to make sure it still works with any upgrade (another 4 possible combinations). Plus the work increases exponentially whenever a new powerset is added.
Swap the immob for a snipe and rearrange the order and you have something much more workable. -
Oh, you get more benefit from Hurdle than Swift, especially combined with SJ.
-
Apart from the ones who are missed, out of range or have high hold resistance.
-
That depends on your secondary and playstyle. Some people may want to play thier MM more blaster like, this will let them do that. If not, you haven't lost anything.
More options is always to be welcomed. -
Well, you have a several options. For the slots, you could make sure all your attacks are 6 slotted (you will find endrecs very useful).
Alterative power choices: Stealth (very useful when soloing below level 32), SS (alternative to stealth), Chillblane, to build domination when you can't get into melee range, brings down flyers. There is also the aoe sleep, the cone slow or the cone attack, but they will need to be slotted to be effective. -
Yes, CE slow stacks, but you have to be in melee range to use it, and any extra slows slotted are wasted, since the mobs will be already virtualy immobile. Also it uses much much less endurance than AA.
-
You have gone for a melee orientated build, wich will give you the best damage pes second and damage per end. However you will still find your damage is low, and you will faceplant an awful lot until you get Jack.
In teams I find it sometimes quite difficult to get into melee range, which means it is hard to attack if you are mostly melee, which means you dont get domination very often.
I would certainly 6 slot Jack, he greatly boosts damage output s well as suvivability. 2 acc, 3 damage, 1 hold (he has Block of Ice).
Leave out Ice Blast, it's almost identical to Ice Bolt. 6 slot Ice Bolt instead: 2 acc, 3 dam, 1 endrec.
Take Hasten Earlier.
Slot Glacier with 2 acc, 2 hold, 2 recred. It has a long recharge time.
I don't find Chilling Embrace very useful, and intend to respec it out. I certainly don't think it's worth 6-slotting.
Oh, yeah, BoI 2 acc, 2 hold, 2 redrec. you need to be using this as much as possible. -

Energy Aura doesnt have a self heal either, how do they fare ?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think the level 9 EA power causes a hp crash though.
I don't think the lack of heal is a bad decision, but I would take it into acount in my build. I have 3 slotted health on my Tank, and its suprisingly effective, I would probably go for that.
I'm not so happy about the lack of immob and KB protection, since this pretty much forces you to go with jumping, and is to much like Dark and Fire. I notice DA Stalkers get immob resistance. -

I can see how Bodyguard is very powerful as a stance - just not sure how useful it's going to be when you want to attack as well...
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, this is the cunning bit. It will give you reason to use those attack powers in your Primary and Patron pools... -
My other thought about an Elec/Elec build is that with no hp recovery power and a hp crash in the level 9 power the Medicine pool could be very useful.
Or could at least 3 slot Health. -
Been thinking about Jacobs Ladder. How useful is a sleep to a Brute?
Grounded is possibly a power that could be left out too. -
This could be very powerful, for a MM who is good with thier binds.
It also give the MM a tank-mage option by taking and slotting attacks and offensive secondary powers. 6 bodyguards is roughly equivelent to 71% resistance to all. -
No Imob res either. And the figures for resistance probably arn't all that good apart from energy.
-
It looks very nice. The teleport isn't a group tp foe as we thought. Jacobs Ladder, melee cone sleep, very nice. I'm gonna get me one of these.
-
Yeah you can. You can hold or Sleep them. Or pull them round a corner onto an Ice Slick. Or drop Jack on them.
-
Do you have to do damage to build domination? I thought simply attacking did that?
I don't have either cone, I dislike cones, I dislike DoT and I mistrust recharge slow since it doesn't stop the alpha strike.
