Quote:okies...Lol Yeah. My main problem been getting my hand back on the primary keyboard, 2nd toon runs past the 1st toon into a wall or mob while doing mouse control with the 1st toon mouse. :C
your 2nd toon will be completely slaved to your primary in movement. So always have the primary targeted and on follow. Generally the times your left will be leaving WSAD will be -
*applying/syncing powers for secondary w/ primary using mouse
*hitting a "bind" key on your secondary keyboard for a specific power or targeting primary
*if your secondary gets stuck or out of position and have to manually move character
the movement equation & tasking is generally removed from the secondary, that takes out ALOT of burden. If you need the secondary to bump up closer during combat, press both left & right mouse buttons and it'll scoot closer (ie for pbaoe or if you're meleeing). You'll have to reset "follow" to move w/ primary again.
Simple keybinds i have on my secondary are the direction arrows. Reserved for targeting and direct support to primary
Left arrow - target primary thru team member select (can do this thru key remapping option or doing /bind leftarrow team_select "whatever # your primary is under)
Down arrow - Follow
Right arrow - Aid Other
Up arrow - Stimulant
hopefully some of these techniques will hasten your dualboxing experience -

last year, really meant to join in but either there was bad timing or teams filled.
I have the weekends off reliably and would like to express my interest in joining 1 team w/ my cold/ice defender duo. I know there'll be some belly-aching about taking up 2 spots, but assuming this is premised on a first come first announce basis, im announcing my intent now. Of course, if people get TOO melodramatic about it whether i take up 2 much room or speculate on my ability to effectively dualbox in that type of situation, then i'll just mine my own business and lead my own TF, which ive had to do in the past.... -
if its on the weekends, i'll tow in some hot gothic/metal chicks....

Quote:any issues can generally be answered with some knowledge and imagination....Playing around with Mids for a Ice/Dark but seems to have some issues with end. Is it worth it? Thanks
Stamina will be a must
will have to stick in an End Redux for all those big toggles, location & targeted aoe's till you get some key IO's in and ancillary powers
Pick your choice -
Power Sink
Dark Consumption
Conserve Power
Put these in your Health power slots
Numina's Convalescence: +Regen & +Recovery
Miracle: +Recovery
In your DN, Keep a 5set IO set which covers good endredux, and 1 EndRedux IO
your end issues answered -
aye, it was great playing with you and your wife. Did enjoy the challenge of +4 mobs lol. That Dark Dwarf ambush on top was EPIC! Never seen SO many dark dwarfs in my life (nearly 30?) and all lv54. Our only teamwipe. Re-gathered and took them out in two groupings..... very epic fighting. You did a great job tanking w/ your Invuln. NBQ's sonic blaster was the only teammate insistent on dying lol, he was one of our under 50's.
This diffy accident actually inspiring some sgmembers to do the ITF on a +4scale for some epic fighting.... its great fun to actually feel challenged & pushed to the edge, then just coasting/burning thru things all the time.... -

Quote:bah, leave that to the controllers, or post it in the controllers forum....I've been torn about including the controller numbers since the guide is already fairly bloated as it is, and I don't want to include 2 sets (or more) of calculations everywhere. Also my Controller */Storm experience is limited, so I'm not sure I'd feel qualified to attempt to write that section. However, I hope that controllers can get something useful out of the guide and leave the rest. At some point once I've finished, I may go back and revise to include Controllers, but for now, I think I have enough on my plate.
I'm still unpacking boxes from my cross country move, but I should be back to working on Thunderclap in the not too distant future.
Think you can work out a Thunderclap overlap formula? Its pretty feasible to do, and the power-stacking magnitude will stun out bosses.... -
Quote:yeah, its not a pretty fit but it was done to be aligned with my set bonuses...I'm not a big fan of Positron's Blast in Freezing Rain, since at that point it mostly just becomes a Set Mule and the recharge you get in FR itself is relatively low. If you are desperate for global recharge bonuses, then this is the way to go, but I would go with enhancements that play more to FR's strengths.

thanx for the compliments....
No more bellyaching threads about Defenders being gimp.....
Match 2 together and all kinds of ungodly things can happen, what no other classes can handle (except Corruptors lol)....
Purpose of the video is to showcase what Defenders CAN DO. Every powerset has its own strength, potential, and also inherent weaknesses. Its up to the player to work out other powers to cover or mitigate those weaknesses.... -

Quote:practice practice practiceWelcome back.
if anyone tried doing to fighting toons at once (not some lame healer following you). Phire makes it look easy.
Nice to see you back and will have to step up my dual game again.
not sure how your physical setup is, but try to get your 2nd keyboard above or ahead of your primary, and use keybinds on easily found keys, like the "direction" keys, keypad's Enter, Zero, and Delete key. Re-position your monitors in a "V" pattern to you if possible, so it makes it easier to eyeball both screens. Position second mouse on left side and practice surfing the net w/ your left. After some serious time (im in my 3rd year as a dualboxer), your eyes and both hands will learn to sync powers on two screens at the same time lol...... practice practice practice -

you able to plot out a formula for Achilles Heel and loading up FR w/ at least 3 "chance 4 Damage" IO's? A person kind of bored looking for fun can load up FR this way and see havoc wreaked on groups lol. Ive visually tested this and as numbers roll, its real hit and miss. Its very fun to see even con mobs get "1-shotted" on the outset and other tougher guys get critted REALLY bad from seriously "good rolls". From what i observe, seems like everyone has an even spread/chance on each roll, so there's a good chance that a few mobs will get "multiple" Chance 4 Damage, stacked w/ FR's debuff and the Chance to Debuff.
Might recheck my old stormies to see if they got their FR crazy tweaked like this and work this out...
Also, i would highly suggest Achilles Heel over 1 damage proc. In fact, i wouldnt even suggest slotting in a damage IO at all. The application is burst over location DoT, which isnt always effective since they can step out of location during the duration. Achilles Heel will affect the mob more adversely than the lousy damage FR does per mob. Take into consideration teammates will be able to do more damage w/ Achilles Heel proc'd mob than your FR's damage proc. AH will be even more effective over damage when you compare to the effect done to AV+. I like the gamble anyhow...
For slotting FR/Sleet, i would have a Recharge IO and 4/5 IO set in it for global bonuses. If 4, then you got room to stick in AH. Presently, on my mains (Ice), its 1 Recharge IO and 5 Positron's Blast. This gives you 95% damage, 2.95x accuracy lol, 68.9% Recharge, 47.7% end cost, IO set bonus gives +2.5% recovery, +1.5% F&C resist, +9% global ACC, +6.25% global recharge....
For PvP, maybe crazy slotting should be done, ie AH, 2 AC IO's, 3 Chance for damage. The opponent will quickly move out of location, so burst damage will be best bang for your buck. The chance for AH to additionally proc is a great gamble also... -
pretty good coverage! Hey, re-spell Basic Version (take out the T) lol, its distracting.
I believe FR/Sleet IS the best all-around debuffing power in the game, for all its status effects, duration, and coverage.
You'll want to emphasize this "Power Stacking" event -
"233% recharge (18 seconds recharge, after 40 seconds): At this point you have 5 seconds of -105% res, -90% defense, -210% speed, -150% recharge followed by 20 seconds of -70% res -60% defense, -170% run speed, -130% recharge."
That window of time, if and when a character is able to create, is a phenomenal time to detonate their AS......
A possible damage formula combined w/ Ice Blast's Blizzard and Freezing Rain, and one w/ FR power-stacked DURING the AS.... -
wassup force! just got back into coh. When did you get made official mayor?
-
thanx guyz.....
nice to see you get restored within an hour, Cobalt....
not sure whats going on behind the scenese, but i was on vent and we were all talking... -
just wanted to say that im back from the summer online hiatus....
not that i consider myself even a big coh personality, but some were worried and thought i disappeared off the planet lol.
The twin defender guy(dual boxer) is back in action and here to help the champion heroes and BMT'rs. Plans to actually get a Ice/Cold Corruptor praetorian set established, and go hero-side. They'll be much mo' powerful offensively than my current mains, Cold/Ice Defenders...
Nevertheless, had fun making this video of them. Some of the other Youtube vids of them became broken for some reason. So i made another one today!
Enjoy the IcePHIREs in action!
