  1. Nice, now if only my custom groups would spawn the right levels so I could consider submitting one of my arcs.
  2. I agree, I never cared about the doom and gloom concerning custom critters. Since I mainly only use them as bosses. My custom groups mostly use renamed/recolored standard enemies because I can usually find some that fit what I want and they're already balanced for their level range. I'll be back to pumping out arcs as soon as my groups will spawn at the right levels again.
  3. Not sure about your other problems but the "All custom characters" group will always be there.

    I would but they can't really examine the arc if I don't publish it and I don't like the idea of publishing an arc that isn't working right.

    I know you're talking about the Hellions... I had them working right before Issue 16. But I guess I'm going to have to look into this again. There are level 10-20 Hellions you can put in a custom group. I figured out they're the Hellions from the Steel Canyon fire and that's why they don't effect the regular Hellions group but there seems to be a bug that'll make them spawn as the regular Hellions sometimes(Making them cap at level 14) but this seems to only happen if they're in a custom group by themselves. Maybe I'll make the custom group in the first mission include the Big Evil soldiers alongside the Hellions, I mean even with them spawning at higher levels they're viewed as weak story wise and I could write it off as them needing to be looked after.

    The Clockwork weren't supposed to be there. I was sure I had removed them but that change must not have saved to the published story.

    This will be explained more thoroughly in my next arc. But Evil Incorporated and Big Evil are actually two different groups. Evil Incorporated is basicly President Evil's answer to Crey but as you'll see in the next arc he has Demons, Werewolves, and Ninja mercs instead of some of the things Crey has. Big Evil is a military group bent on world domination, similar to like say Cobra from GI Joe. The reason they were originally red and black was to imitate the way the Crimson Guards look, but after you guys ran it the first time I realized it made them look exactly like higher level 5th even though the ones in the 10-20 range are usually all black.

    The ninjas were only there to symbolize the aspect of President Evil's ninjas being present(The actual character I use is a Ninja Mastermind). The two groups won't be mixed together in the next arc however. Their regular groups range from 25-54. I made "Big Evil Recruits" specifically for this arc since I won't need a group that ranges from 10-20 for the later arcs.

    The next arc is almost done, but on testing I'm noticing a lot of spawning problems with levels due to the level range. So I'm gonna hold out until that gets fixed. All in all thanks for the wonderful review and I'll look into fixing a few of the errors you brought up.

    Can MA be saved?

    There seem to be a lot of bugs with this issue and the XP issues aren't the only thing stopping people from using the MA. I'm sure people like me who are experiencing this with their custom groups aren't inclined to do much either. Use custom mobs their XP sucks, use standard mobs and they don't spawn at the right level.

  8. President Evil, my Ninja / Dark MM. I've soloed about 3 AVs on him. I'm sure a large part of it is all the holds that are stacking on the poor SOBs. Between Dark Miasma, Dark Servant, The Oni, and my Ghost Widow patron hold. That's 4 holds. I had a couple AVs I locked down for the whole fight.

    I don't think it's an anti farming measure. It's been like this since MA went live, back when you couldn't rename standard enemies if you put them in your group.

    Now I know it looks crazy, but the point is. For some reason when I run this with my level 50 tank, none of the enemies that would spawn over level 45 spawn. Not the Chimera Ninjas, not the Warwolves, Not the Behemoth Overlords. But I get an insane mix of just about everything that spawns under my level range.
  11. You can't set a boss objective with a custom group if it only contains standard enemies. You'll have to take the bosses out of the standard group they are actually from for the boss objective and rename/reedit them for the specific boss fight.

    Personally I have no problems with the MA until this new bug that seems to have sprouted up. My custom group is broken. I have 2 custom groups with standard enemies ranging from 25-54 and when playing as my level 50 everything is all out of whack. There will randomly be level 29s, 41s etc. And one of the groups refuses to spawn any of the enemies that go past level 45.

    Just curious what is it about Malta that gives you trouble? I'm curious because a custom group in an arc I'm working on has a few Malta in it. But it's only the Engineers, Tactical Operatives, and the human lts and bosses (Not the Gunslingers). Course I may not even have this arc up any time soon depending on how long it takes to fix the bug that's affecting custom groups with standard mobs.
  14. Custom groups with standard enemies are now broken. It seems like the mission's ability to know what level you are. I have two custom groups with enemies ranging from 25-54. Playing a levlel 50, In one group a few enemies that actually stretch across that level range spawn properly but they got a lot of random grey buddies spawning along with them and my other group it seems to refuse to spawn the level 45+ enemies for me and it's rather inconsistant which lower level range enemies it feels like spawning. I was getting 29s, 41s, and 45s all in the same mission.
  15. Same problem here with my groups that are supposed to be levels 25-54. Guess I'm done with AE till they fix these spawning bugs.

    I just spent a bunch of time editing up a story arc I intended to post today, just to find out my custom groups are now broke. Played as a level 50 and while the enemies that actually were supposed to scalefrom 25-50 spawned properly there were a lot of random greys thrown in and my other custom group refuses to spawn the level 45+ enemies that are in it.
  16. Just so you guys know, if you use anyone level 15-20 when you rerun my arc. You'll see a slightly more different enemies then normal.
  17. Just thought I'd let people know that for the time being I won't be writing anymore reviews. However I have made sure to still at least play your arcs. I have one left to play still. My main point, this thread is over with. After I take some time away from running peoples arcs and take some time to work on my own, I will open a new review thread with a different format. If you still want a real review at that time I'll be more then happy to accept the submissions.

    I think a lot of people's beef with it is that the Devs don't seem to care much about adding new DCs to the game. It's almost like they added something inspite of knowing they wouldn't have time to deal with it.

    On the topic of quality. Heck I remember one of the Dev's Choice arcs was filled with tons of spelling and grammar errors. You think they'd ask them to clean it up before making it a Dev's Choice.

  21. Originally my AOL SN was Ozzie3456. Used the name Ozzie because I always found the character Ozzie from Chrono Trigger to be amusing. However later during various online RPG groups, I came up with the name Ozzie Arcane for a character of mine and I've stuck with it ever since.

  24. Here's an odd one. I was using the Gunslinger Halloween costume. Yet my cape and aura were still showing up.
