  1. Custom enemies always scale down a rank on Heroic no matter how many team members you have.

    I noticed the oni spams ring of fire and char (with the odd fire bolt) at long range. At medium to close range he uses all of his powers.

    At mid-range, he is mostly stuck with just Ring of Fire and Char and Breath of Fire and Rain of Fire with 60s recharge. He rarely uses Fire Blast.

    At close range, he uses the same thing but if he draws out his sword, he only cycles 2 attacks.


    I am happy if Oni just cycles Fire Blast, Ring of Fire and Char and occassionally BoF/Rain of Fire.

    Me, I'm happy when he's cycling BoF, Rain of Fire, ring of Fire, and char. When he's doing that... Well... Me and my oni have held a few EB's so far.

  3. The pimp argument is no longer valid for mastermind pets. You can toss it around all you want but guess what? If someone really wants to they can make their character a pimp archvillain in the MA now and they can be a lot more suggestive in that if they want then they can with mastermind pets.

    I would have thought this happened a while back, when the Bruiser got fixed too, and other AI got tweaked, but maybe not.

    Maybe it's been longer then I thought or I just didn't notice it last time I used him. But I was used to it seeming like only two of my ninjas would go into melee range if I clicked the attack button. While the rest would stay back pelting the enemies with shuriken and the Oni never used to get close enough to hit with most his attacks.
  5. This sums up about how I felt playing the Khan TF yesterday. We blew through everything so fast that I could hardly tell what was going on. I'm level 50 and I only got about 500K influence from that because that's how much they were avoiding fights.

    I really only like stealthing missions when it's possible in the Freedom Phalanx TFs because they're so long. All the newer ones that all seem to be only 5 missions, I'd rather play like a normal mission. Maybe not neccessarily clear all but not just teleport straight to the end.

  9. Seems to me like the solution would be to allow adjustments of the individual enemies levels, to a certain extent. Personally I want level 50 Succubus and Crey Agents but I can't have them.

    But I doubt they will ever completely remove level restrictions. The lower end enemies don't really have the powers available for them to put up a fight against level 50s, it'd be leaving the game wide open for more exploits that they'll just have to nerf.
  11. Don't you think acid attacks should probably do a mix of toxic and fire damage? Since acid well... burns?
  12. So, Hellions are levels 1-20 right? I'm rather confused here, if you set a Hellion boss there are 1-20 and for custom groups they show up as 1-20 but if you set them as the map enemy or as a patrol they're only 1-14. Is this a mistake of somekind?
  13. I've been thinking, for some enemies it would be nice if there was a version of them for the MA that can be higher level then usual if they're used in custom groups. There are lots of enemies that go up to level 45 and then dissapear. I'm sure this is mainly for story purposes(Like CoT demon bosses dissapear because the wizards are in charge), because it's not like there is a big diference in what you're capable of at level 45 and what you're capable of at 50.

    I think this would be especially helpful for making custom groups with the changes we're going to be able to make to standard enemies soon. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants a high level enemy group that can have a Succubus all the way to level 54 or Crey's Field Agents both of which only go to level 45.

    I also think it would be nice if some AVs were able to go to higher levels, rather then being restricted to only fit the level range of the story arc they are normally in. An example, how about Nosferatu. Doesn't it seem silly that regular vampires can go all the way to 54 but the biggest baddest vampire of the lot caps at level 40? Heck, I kinda wish Possessed Duke Modrogor could go to level 54, it almost seems silly being capped at 47.

    Now I'm not suggesting we be able to use level 50 Hellions, that would be silly since they're clearly not set up to handle enemies at that level, but when they're only 5 levels away from the max then clearly they're not gonna suddenly be a cakewalk if you fight a higher level version of them.
  14. I was on one of the Synapse teams. I'd like to apologize for not saying anything before I left after it was over. But as I was loading out of the Clockwork King mission the game decided to crash on me for some reason. Since I was gonna log anyhow to sleep, I didn't bother logging back in.

    Every arc should be a complete story. A player should be able to start each arc on its own, run it and understand what's going on, and at the end have a feeling of completion. Maybe not every loose end tied up, but "Yes, the big issue here is resolved".

    But loose ends can add up to a longer story. I've got my Lizardmen, there's another series about the Dream Papers. That sort of multi-arc system seems to be liked...most people just play one, but those who are into the longer stories will see them all.

    That's essentially the type of thing I intend to do. Rather then one big story, it's more like multiple stories that are connected in some way. I have an idea for a custom group and I'm going to make multiple stories about them, similar to what standard enemy groups in the game already have.

    The group has 10 major villains who will be divided up amongst the different stories. I also intend to make the different stories cover a decent range of levels, the first of which will be for levels 10-20.
  19. Are they a good idea or a poor idea? I'd imagine it might be a bit much to expect people to play through a multi arc storyline.

    I'm planning a pretty big story myself once they add story slots that can be bought. However, even though it's an overall story, I plan to try to make the individual parts be comprehensible on their own since each arc will be about thwarting different higher ups from the same group.

    It's unfortunate she doesn't have anything to do with Norse mythology. She's a Tech Origin hero, filled with nanites. Even her name is an evolution of "Valerie Kellum".

    Valerie Kellum was an up-and-coming archeologist exploring Scandinavia when she discovered what she first took for an ancient spear. A more careful examination led to the realization that the spear had a technological component. She traveled around Europe looking for ideas about its origin and ended up in a local Crey facility. When a Crey security team tried to take the weapon from her it activated and injected Valerie with advanced nanites that transformed her into Valkyrie, an extraordinary warrior with a completely different personality. She broke free and traveled to Paragon City where Positron is helping her come to terms with her new identity.

    Except that if they make it something that can be turned off, they'll "helpfully" add a warning to the sender that the recipient has opted out of email. Then the next step is for the spammers to grab your global handle, and send you global tells at all hours of the day or night. What do you do then?

    Seriously though. Why not make the mailing system cost influence to use? Maybe they won't be bombarding people if it's eating away at what they're selling.

    Spamming is so freaking stupid. The one game where I did buy gold(FFXI) I found a site to get it on my own, I didn't need some mook to spam mail me about it. Even with IOs, CoX would be the dumbest game to buy money in.

    I don't know. I definately think Black Scorpion looks the worst though. I think the only reason I hate on Scirroco is because he got made to look like a wimp in the trailer. Cheap shots Statesman and still gets floored.
