Lothic, Flower...thanks both for the quick replies.
My son suggested the second instance solution, but I thought it was worth checking to make sure I couldn't just do it with the promotee not in-game.
Thanks again!

One of my characters became the SG leader when the previous leader left the group. I've never done it before, so don't know much about how to do many things, but I'm learning as issues come up.
With another character who is the lowest rank in the SG, I wanted to store inspirations in the inspiration storage unit, but found that the lowest rank doesn't have permission to do that. There seemed two options: promote the character, or change the permissions rank. At this point, I don't want to change the permissions rank, so want to promote.
I know how to promote, but, does the character to be promoted need to be online to be promoted, or can I do that any time? Since both characters are mine, it complicates it a bit, but if necessary I could have another person with promotion privilege do it, but it would be simpler if I could just do it with him not in-game. I can do with him in-game if needed since the one to be promoted is in another account, but then I'd need to run both accounts on two side-by-side computers - again, possible but cumbersome.
Thanks!

I was told that there are videos of the finals of this year's Atlas Park costume contest, with links someplace in the Forums, and also om YouTube. I've done some searching, but haven't found them.
Anybody have those links and willing to share?
Thanks!

Quote:Thanks Raj...that sounds even easier.Easiest way would be to ask for someone to open a portal for you, especially in either Atlas Park, Pocket D, or Cap Au Diable.
Once there, go to the top of the gnomon on the building and there's an explore badge. As any time-travel badge grants the portal, this will get it for you.

Agg...Thanks for the quick reply. I was hoping that somebody might reply quickly so I could get in the game and do it, but was amazed that it came so quickly!
I did see that page, and at the time, it seemed like the4 missions might be above my level. But, now, taking time to browse it more completely, it looks like using my SG's Pillar of Ice and Flame to run a mission might be the way to go.
Thanks again!

I've been away from CoH for some time, and some of my older characters have an Oroboros access power. Recently, when I started playing again, the new character that I'm currently playing doesn't. He's a lvl38, and I seem to recall completing a time travel mission of some kind, but never got an Ouroboros travel power.
How do I do that? I've been searching the Paragon Wiki, but haven't found any clear instructions.
Thanks!

Quote:Slight change of subject, but figured it wasn't worth a new thread...I've also noticed that there seems to be significantly more lag (jerky motion) when I enter the Underground, then also when I enter the First Ward. I had to dial back graphics quality to be able to get smooth motion enough for it to be tolerable. My problem, or anybody else notice that?I've noticed that the contact you talk to to access the portal does not appear on the map as a contact (at least not after the first time you talk to them) but the portal itself is marked with a red dot. It took me forever to figure this out when I was trying to get back to First Ward from Cap.

Quote:Thanks for the link. I had tried to do some searching, but if I recall, the wiki was down when I looked. Maybe it was a different wiki, but I thought it was paragopnwiki.
In any case, thanks!

Thanks for the additional replies! More info to tuck away.
Y'all have a great day!

How do I get to the Underground Imperial City? I have a mission in the First Ward, and started it, but had to leave because of bad lag, and now don't recall how I got there. I know there's a portal along the waterfront - I think it's up on the bluff - in Talos, but don't remember where. I've asked the question several times on the HELP channel in-game, but no responses.
Thanks!

Quote:Actually, I knew that I cold email, but didn't know how. Thanks! That will help a lot.Just a clarification question:
Do you know that you can email items and Inf to yourself and others now? You just email to your @global name and then you can pick it up with any of your characters.

Thanks all!
Very confusing!
My reason for deleting characters was mainly to clean up too many that I started just to try different types way back when I originally subscribed. I played some up high enough that I wanted to to reclaim inf and goodies, so had to unlock them to do that. Once that was done, I no longer needed them, so deleted them. I hope that deleting them left the slot available to create a new character.
Thanks again! I guess sometime in the next few weeks I'll revert to Premium and will see what happens, and report back.

Thanks for the replies. Some new info for me and some not. I do understand that as a Premium player, slots I unlock stay on the server in which they are unlocked.
Further explanation...if I unlock more slots in my current VIP mode than I am allowed when I return to Premium, what happens?
In subscription mode, prior to f2p, I had a good many characters spread over four servers. I also have a second account for my wife with fewer characters over the same four servers. A few days ago I chose to pay for both to revert to VIP so I could go in and review each character, and transfer any inf and goodies from those I am willing to delete to those I will keep. I did this using two computers with both accounts open on the same servers so I could pass stuff and eventually accumulate it on characters I will keep. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough. I couldn't quite get down to the number of slots I was allowed as Premium - 7 global on one account and 4 on the other.
So, I'm faced with having to further reduce the number of characters before returning to Premium. That's really hard...do I delete my only lvl 50 because I don't play that character much?
My original question was intended as follows. If, while I am VIP, I unlock 10 slots on Virtue, for example, when I then revert to Premium, will all slots be locked, so that I will need to unlock only the 7 global I am allowed as a Premium player, or, will all 10 be unlocked since I unlocked them while VIP? The wording in the "Side-by-Side Comparison" chart seems a little ambiguous.
I suspect this is wishful thinking! I'd have to assume that NCSoft isn't that generous, and that as a Premium player, I would not have more than the 7 global unlocks when I revert to VIP, but thought it was worth asking the question.
Thanks!

I subscribed and played CoH for years, then didn't play for a couple of years. When I launched f2p, I installed and started playing again as a free account. I then decided to subscribe and am now playing VIP. If/when I return to Premium, will character slots I unlocked while VIP still be unlocked, or lock again and require me to unlock a reduced number?
Thanks!

I'd be surprised if this suggestion hasn't been made, but I am not quite sure how to do an effective search for it in the archives.
I've just come back to CoH after a couple of years away during which I mainly played Guild Wars (GW) and tried a few other free MMOs. One of the features I really like about GW is the availability of game provided team members called heroes and henchmen. Heroes are gained slowly as one progresses and can be customized, while henchmen of an appropriate level are always available, but not customizable. This makes it possible to play in a team without having to find a compatible team of live players.
There are several considerations. Who hasn't accepted a team invitation and found a bunch of jerks and promptly went looking for another team! It would be nice to have a fallback when good teams aren't to be found. The availability of computer heroes would surely mean fewer teams of live players, but also would mean that not only can a person play alone and still have some support - for example, better chance for a healer to play alone by having a computer damage dealer - but the same goes for being able to play with just one or two others and still fill out at eam with computer heroes. I read one post complaining that I14 has resulted in very few non-AE or non-farming teams. This would provide a way to have a team for doing traditional missions even if no live-player traditional teams are available. I ersonally have no interest in AE or farming. I came back to CoH because of what it was for the first two years I played it.
I'm sure this would require a major development effort, but since the AI is already in place for villains, it would seem to be a good starting point.
The catch phrase in GW is "You never fight alone" - not a bad thing - and that's how they do it.
I should add that, unlike CoH, GW is free to play, but CoH is still my favorite. Unfortunately, as I have been back to it for just a day, I'm finding some things different than I remember that are disappointing. Perhaps after this first month back, I'll still consider CoH to be the best, or perhaps....
