Damn, I'm going to have to email him again. Still in the same boat.
-
Bah, mine's still "Compressing". I already sent David an email, so I'll just have to wait & see I suppose
-
Thanks Zloth. I've been meaning to save some useful wiki reference links in my User page, so I think it's time to start

OK, well, in case they don't confirm my entry (which would send me on a 3 state murderous rampage), I uploaded it onto YouTube. (I also sent in a link to David)
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Forums, I present to you - "The Fall"

Be sure to click on the 'watch in high quality' link under the view count! I hope you enjoy it.

I did enjoy it
Also, I saw DR's video the other night. Another fine job DR
And 8baller... your kung fu is incredible. How did you get those water and cloud effects? I read something about Flash? That's a whole other level! If you don't mind me asking, what video software do you use? (thinking about upgrading from Movie Maker) -

If not, I promise that my next project (apart from "Positron vs the Marketing Department") is going to be a video SCATHINGLY denouncing GameTrailers.com. I might have to learn how to use Leandro's Splasher program to do it properly, but if I find out that 50% of us were disqualified because their site wouldn't update, the mushroom cloud will be going up over Phoenix.

So I'm trying to upload for like the 5th time now. Each time I've tried, I've waited a couple of hours before trying again. Got the video to 25MB @ 640x480, and it still says' Compressing" an hour later.
Hello, Gametrailer support!

This also may be due to a review period... all videos are reviewed for content before they go live.

Well, in that case I'll leave it as-is for now. Thanks for the response Ex. Still hoping to hear from Gametrailer before 8/10 (not going to hold my breath though). But if I'm not the only one having an issue, I feel better already.
So here's the video (as hosted on YouTube). Mind you, I have yet to do any demo editing, so all the footage was shot in-game. Becuase July has been one heck of a month (between annual corporate training most of the month, social outings, and ComicCon), I shot all of the footage on Tuesday, and spent Wednesday and Thursday arranging the clips, recording the voice over, and putting the voice through filtering. Then, because I'm using Movie Maker (it's all I have), I had to compile the video twice (once for video and background track, and again for voice over). I uploaded it to YouTube today. And that's it.
In the end, I just wanted to justify (finally) buying a full copy of FRAPS, so if I place, it's just a bonus at this point. Given the competition, I'd be surprised if I do place. Because this mulitmedia community rocks!!!
Good luck everyone!!! -

Yep, just read that too. I get all the way up to the last step, but it never seems to compress. Might need to recompile to 640x480 to get things to work, but might have to wait until the evening to do that (source files are on my USB HD). Thanks!

I had the same thing, took me a few tries before it actually worked.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks. I won't waste time waiting then and will try again! -
So I reloaded my videothis morning, and it's still "compressing". YouTube took the same video fine.
I'm only worried because there was a "non-fatal error" when I uploaded it (same as last night), and I'm not sure what to think of that, or if it's impacting my upload. -
How long does it take for the video to "compress" one it's uploaded? I uploaded my vid last night and it was still compressing, so I canceled and uploaded again...

I'll see what I can do

Heya Hero 1, long time no see. Must be busy working on new content I suspect
I would love to go back to the '60s and help the Midnight Squad take down Rulaaru. It would give some cool background context to the Shadow Shard. That would be boss -

NCSoft isn't selling enough items to sustain the game, much less grow the game, on microtransactions alone. And have you played some of the games that are free with only microtransactions? I don't want COH turning into that!
The Wedding Pack got VEATs into i12, ahead of schedule and budget (scheduled/budgeted for i13). That was certainly a plus! People and development cost money, and as Randy Pitchford (CEO of Gearbox) said, "The difference between some games that have a great promise but don't quite fulfill it and the really great games is often about budget allowing the commitment to quality that most game makers have."
NCNC has a great commitment to quality. The "cash store" lets them improve their budget without raising fees. I don't see a problem.
[/ QUOTE ]
In the neer future several "Competitive" games will hit the market. With flashy new graphics, New storylines, New powers, New everything. And this game will remain 4 years old and grow to 5 years old so on and so forth.
For 3+ years CoX only asked us all for a Subscription Fee. And for the we got 2/3 Free issues per year. And everyone was happy.
Then they tested the waters with the First Microtransaction.. Good versus Evil goodie pack.. then was another goodie pack.. then more and then the bridal pack.. then server transfers.. then name changes.. then more slots.. now respecs..
Now sure none of that was/is needed. But in the beginning, when we thought it was gonna be like every blue moon they have them, then sure why not. But now. Its not the same as back then.
I see no reason why they cant just open up the microtransaction store.. where people can buy just about everything in game and just drop the sub fee.
We can pay NCNC for ingame currency and for better prices than the RMTers.. we could buy recipes we want.. we could buy all the current stuff they are selling.. and even more.
Just really seems like this is where its headed..

You just go over there then. Tell me how it was when you come back a few months later with your tail between your legs.
Seriously, if you're going to leave, do it already. Get out. Scat. Bugger off.
I'm tired of hearing about players threatening to leave for games that promise a bunch of cool things that don't even exist yet.
Also, next year I promise to release a game that has everything you ever wanted! But I don't have a schedule for beta yet
Also, I hear that barbarian game that shall rename nameless is the bee's kneesDidn't a bunch of people leave for that? Oh, wait, most of them came back?!? Really?!? You don't say!

I wonder how $10 compares with the cost of buying 50M inf (Respec recipes still cost somewhere in this range right?) from some gold farmer?
[/ QUOTE ]
The price for buying stuff from PlayNC offsets the possibility of having one's account banned if he/ she is caught using an RMT service. That's just my 2 cents.
Basically, because it's legit.
Also, what she said. -
[ QUOTE ]
But the fact that you decided to decide that our money is more important than upping the reward table for Recipe Respecs is not a good sign, in my opinion.
[/ QUOTE ]
As far as you know, it isn't. But altering rewards tables sounds like something they would have on a major issue release, which could be possible. However, either statement is purely conjuncture. -

I'm extremely sorry but I just cant resist my guess at the future:

City of Heroes has expanded their suite of available purchasable services to include Maxed Level Characters.
Optional Maxed Level Purchase is available via the in-game store found at the character select screen for the per transaction price of $49.99 USD.
There are already multiple in-game methods that players can obtain achieve max level. Now, if the convenience of purchasing a Maximun Level is desired, it is available. Having a purchasable option has been an often heard desire from the game's customers.
Once players purchase a Maxed Level, they must then visit a Trainer Contact in-game to use it, in the same manner as your currently hard earned powers are acquired. The Trainers include: Back Alley Brawler in Galaxy City and Arbiter Diaz in Mercy Island.

That's satire... right? -
[ QUOTE ]
Why cant you guys use developer resources for something we really need like email transfer of items/inf? That to me would have made more sense than this. The only times I ever got respec recipes were on characters that didnt need them anyways but the ones that did were on another server. That would have helped me alot more than this.

Just a quick follow up:
We have no plans of getting rid of freespecs. Each Issue that brings with it major power changes (which is pretty much every single one, eh?) will bring a freespec with it.
We have no plans of getting rid of the respec trials.
We have no plans of getting rid of the dropped Respec Recipes.
We have no plans of getting rid of the Veteran Respecs that your account earns.
This is simply another way to get a Respec onto your character.
[/ QUOTE ]What about a way to email the respec recipes you got on your other toons to the ones that actually need it????

You'd think a member of the Cartel would know someone that could help him take care of this.

Is buying levels, or badges next?

I've purchased three badges already: VIP< Destined One, And Pocket D VIP Member.
(of course, they came with the CoH Collector's Edition and GvE box, but what's your point?) -
Frankly, I don't see the purpose of trying to please every poster's moderation tastes. I've had problems with moderation before, but it seems to be the exception rather than the rule. In fact, I wound prefer heavy-handed moderation, so long as it is consistent, as opposed to the debacles that sometimes break out on the forums do to previously disturbingly soft-touched moderation (probably due to previously undermanned moderation that lead to apathy).
Additionally, trying to please those posters who will probably never be satisfied with the moderation of the forums is just an exercise in futility. Obviously, there will always demographics of the population who feel that there is too much moderation, and others that feel there is not enough. But when you please everyone, you please no one. -
