Hi Ditzy,
Thanks for the pm, I've just now gotten the chance to respond, and I appreciate the greater detail you went into and the additional information regarding the timing of the nuke drops. I'll look to putting the info to use as I get closer to trying a 2 round, 1 round, and at some point even a "zerg".
The reason I ask the questions I do is to make sure I understand the mechanics of the raid. To that end, I have an additional question regarding nukes, that anyone can field. Do Bio nukes buff all in the radius or are they capped at a set number of toons?
Justice has a wealth of knowledge on raiding, I'm hoping this thread can continue to stimulate the sharing of that information and spin off additional strategies and ideas.
See you all in the hive!

Quote:Hi Denji,Would it be okay to join a little bit after 6 my time? (I don't get off work until 6 and I don't get home for another... half an hour...) I've wanted to level up my SD/SS tank but I've never had the chance to join this little shindig, and I'd really like to. He's level 26.
Yes it's okay to be a little late. If you're a member of TankHQ put out a tell when you show up and we'll try to get you on a team. Depending on turnout and what we're running it may take a few mins, but we make our best effort to get everyone involved. If you're not a member of TankHQ it's time to join the channel (/chanjoin TankHQ).
Look forward to seeing you all there. -
Quote:Thanks for the feedback, please let me know the next time you lead a raid so I can see your tactics in action. Or, could you be a bit more specific on the timing of your two Bio drops.Ok.. The way I understand this whole thread regarding "whatever" rounders.. hero's finally figured out they can drop a nuke ONCE and omit two blooms thus cutting around 8 minutes off a hami raid. Villians have never had the choice if they wanted a raid in under an hour a bio is a necessity. In fact, many wouldn't even do red raids because the preparation just took too much time( so hard to go get a ******* nuke, huh?). So? I don't get the arguement here really. Drop your bios twice in a raid and kill hami in 20 minutes... everyone gets their merits.. everyone is happy. If you want to make it quicker than dont retreat at all and call for raiders ALL to pop an eoe twice in the raid.. big whoo.
So much analyzing for no good reason. The public has proven they want more for less. Such is the mantra of the gaming world.
EdiTed because if I were typing about a brand spankin new hami raid group my " big whoo" would not fly.You guys arent brand, spankin new . Quit overanalizing. Go .. Eat EOE... Drop a bio... kill hami.. HAVE FUN!! -
Hi Masked,
We're looking at running a TT Praetoria on Justice on the 26th of October. I know it's a long time off, but was the soonest we had a day open that we hadn't previously committed to.
You're welcome to join us there. I have a feeling that with GR out we'll start seeing more coop zone TTs or mission teams.
Details as we work them out and all adjust to the new content and potential.

Hey Green, not a bad idea. We could also coordinate an TT Mothership raid with your server. Which would have to be cooperative with everyone one else, but us Tanks could all load up on all Tanker teams (we've done this on Champion several times). Then, hit misisons or quick TFs as time allows.
I currently don't have anything in the works, so post here if you like that idea or have anything else you want to do.
If we go the mothership route, we'll need to coordinate it with your server's raiders (I can lead the raid or we can just let everyone know the Tanks are a presence in the zone and running a TT event "within" the raid). If any of you are on channels or organize events, please make the initial contact and then let me know who we need to talk to to set this up.
We'll have to move quickly if we decide on the ship raid as we only have a few days until TT reloads!
Let me know,

Thanks Quartermain, it was fun.
I was wondering about the debuffing myself, thought I had called for the -reg twice, maybe I'll change the call to "Debuffs on Hami" and "Keep up the -Reg".
How many people did we have actually hitting Hami, anyone get a rough count? -
Hi all,
The Tanker Tuesday Tour is reloading to Virtue on August 31st! Tanker Tuesday is an all Tanker AT teaming event. That's right teams that constist of only Tankers running Task Forces, Trials, missions, and just about everything else the game has to offer. Come join the fun as we roll through the streets and bad guys of Paragon City.
Meet us in King's Row by Independence Gate at 6pm PDT\9pm EDT and we'll get teams set up. All Power Sets and Levels are welcome, as long as you're a Tank!
Hope to see you there! -

I keep meaning to work on my red side toons, or even get enough time to figure out who make a vigilante, all I need is a few more hours in the day....
Regarding last night's Blue side raid, I think we found the minimum number of Nukes required for a 3rnr raid. From the attempted nose count prior to hitting the goo, we had approx 3-4 Chems and Bios, a few Nuke-nukes, about 6 Shivans (from what I saw in the goo) and about then same number of HVACs (maybe a few more). Please let me know if anyone got a different count.
Hami's bar seemed to crawl at times and he actually was able to regen a few times, not sure what happened there... As I'm looking to improve my raid leading skillz, any insights, thoughts, ideas or comments would be appreciated.
As always, it was great fun, see you all in the Hive! -
No probelm Rangle, enri took the roll of hami bait for me tonight. Hope to see you raiding again soon.
-
Thank you both, Arwen, you've got Yellow Kill Lead and enri Hami Taunt is all yours!
-
Enri, yeah, zerging is real tempting, but Id like a bit more time to beat the wardrum and to encourage people to get the temp pets and nukes.
Quartermain, I hear what youre saying and have been thinking the same thing. Ill see how it goes today at work and see if Im up to trying the 2 rounder tonight (sometimes Im literally walking in the door and jumping on the computer to make the raid time). ATM Im still planning a no retreat 3 round raid.
Regarding a 2 rounder vrs zerging, is basically less mitos to deal with (only 2 spawns). The last all out zerg I was involved in the aggro from four Yellows and a mixture of Blues and Greens combined took the tanks out before Hami dropped. Granted, I believe this was with the "Super Greens" in effect (so there might have been more going on than with a typical zerg), but I'm a bit hesitant to try an all out zerg without better planning, organization and until Im feeling a little more comfortable with that kind of raid. Although, there will be the day when I lead one.
So, for tonight, Ill look at doing a 3 round no retreat and see what thats like. Ill try to get a nuke/pet count after the monster hunt. Depending on the result, I may decide on a 2 rounder at that time.
** Just to clarify terms so were all on the same page, Im using zerging as all out rush to Hami w/o taking out any mitos/mito waves.
I still need team leaders and would like a Hami aggro Tank, so I can concentrate on the leading the raid and not my health bar. Please, let me know if youre up for leading a team or Tanking Hami.
See you all in the Hive! -
Another fun TT! We had two mission teams running, one doing "Tips" and the other running radio's in PI. So, all-in-all a good turn out and time.
See you all next week on Virtue! -
Another fun TT Reload! Thanks for hosting up Protector! We had two mission teams running, one a "Tip" mission team and the other running radio's in PI. All-in-all a good turn out considering GR is still fresh in everyone's minds and folks are looking to complete side switching and such. As always I'd like to thank all that took on the roll of team leaders for the event (it makes things go so much smoother).
Thanks again, see you all next Tuesday! -
Yeah, I'm not sure if it really matters, but it could be a strategic issue if you all of a sudden have both a Yellow and Hami pounding on you with Greens dropping your Regen, or even Blues having their fun.
-
I did two builds for my Tank, one to lead raids, the other for general game play.
Some thoughts on building Hami Raid Tankers:
Regen and Hit Points if you're going to be Taunting anything (and not a bad idea in general for Tanks) and Recharge if you can fit it in.
For an all Tanker Hami we'll need holds (to take the Green Mitos out), so Pyre and Arctic Mastery are great choices. Also slot for the +2 Mag from Lockdown on any Powers that can take it. And, possibly, the Hold Proc from Devastation.
Hasten to help keep your Heal and damage up.
KB protection of at least 10.
Hover, to help get you to the upper mitos.
Medicine Power Pool? (I can see benefits for this, not sure if everyone or anyone really needs to take it. We'll know better after the first Raid)
Once we get into the goo Taunt auras should be turned off (to reduce the chance of stripping aggro and getting random Yellow Mito shots), so unless like Will Power, where it's adding survivability (and even then, during this phase it might be good to shut it off), it might be skippable. (*Note, not everyone should skip these as they are helpful during the GM hunt). -
I've gone ahead and reserved Oct 26th for our TTJ Praetoria. I know it's a bit late after release, but we'll give it a shot anyways. Currently I have a Dark/Fire out there around level 9. I'll see if I can get a few more levels on him by the time this TTJ hits.
See ya' all soon! -
Tanker Tuesday tonight! See you all in King's by IP Gate at 6pm PDT\9pm EDT!
We don't have a TF set, so I'm thinking either/both Citadel and Posi, depending on turnout and levels.
See ya' all soon! -
I'm shooting for a 3 round no retreat for Wednesday as well. At the moment I need leaders for all teams. If you're up for it either say so here or shoot me a tell in game.
Also, please get nukes (Chem and Bio and pet (Shivans and Vanguard Heavies). If all goes well, I'll look at when I can run a 2 round no retreat. But I need a bit more time to get myself organized. -
I have to agree with the title of the thread, although I didn't get much time to fully test the set, the experience I did have with it left me thinking "why not just go EM?", or anything else for that matter.
I will say that recent teaming with Rangle (he's using it on his Scrapper) makes me think he has the right idea. The set looks good for Scrapping, for Tanking...I'm not so sure... -
Quote:As long as I'm aware of a Ship Raid I can announce it towards the end of the Hami. I'd even be willing to lead one, but time constraints during the work week don't really make it feasable at this time. If one is shceduled, I'll announce it. Also, feel free to remind me, so I don't forget.Ideally the raid leader should advertise and plan a ship raid right after a Hami raid just to keep the vmerits train rolling.
Given the fact that Justice tends to use ship raids to herd rikti, capping vmerits should be pretty easy within a few raids. 600-1000 merits per run should mean that there should never be a shortage of HVAS during hami raids. Or CoP for that matter. -
Quote:Hi Quartermain,The nuke-nuke is worthless. The last time we did one of these, I posted a bunch of calculations showing the dps, dpa and everything else on ring of fire on auto from a controller without any damage slotting was better over time with the amount of buffs that should be floating around.
I think I missed that posting, do you have a link for it?
Thanks,
-Warboss -
Quote:Thanks for the response Quartermain,From the times we rushed him on bloom one and defeated him with temps with all the blooms up, tenish nukes minimally, chem and bio, and 15-20 hvas/shivans. So, you need slightly less than half of that. Really nothing more than what is needed to knock one bloom off. You only have to hold the aggro off the pets so they dont get distracted. Distraction is the only reason slightly more might be required that for a 3 round.
More is *much* *much* better. You have to encourage people to get the stuff.
The nuke-nuke is worthless. The last time we did one of these, I posted a bunch of calculations showing the dps, dpa and everything else on ring of fire on auto from a controller without any damage slotting was better over time with the amount of buffs that should be floating around.
The order in which stuff happens is very important. It is very possible for Hamidon to lose HP too quickly. If you go pets, then nuke, you *have* to have buffs laid down and everyone on an EoE already before summoning anything, assuming you have enough. If you don't, everyone *will* get wiped out before being able to buff unless the tanks react to the new bloom at some sort of never-before-seen efficency. This is less of a factor when you just have one bloom around, but when we had 3 or 4 it was a fairly major concern.
What I was initially thinking was to have two seperate Nuke drops. One when the first blooms shows up and the other/final one when the last bloom spawns. this way we could maintain the buffing/debuffing I know coordination would probably be an issue, but I was going to try to get the various teams to drop on a specific wave. So, for example, Yellow Aggro drops on the "first bloom" (what would be the round 3rd bloom) along with a misfit team, Yellow Damage and Green drops on the last bloom (what would be the 4th round), memebers from Hami Aggro and remaining teams could drop when prompted (held in reserve) or drop on the last wave if they wanted.
I completely agree that getting folks there with the tools to do the job will be the challenge.
Thanks again for the input, I'll start working up my strategy. -
Hi all!
The Tanker Tuesday Tour reloads to Protector on the 24th! TTs are a player run all Tanker teaming event. We run TFs, Trials, missions and pretty much everything else the game has to offer.
Meet us in King's Row by the gate to Independence Port at 6pm PDT\9pm EDT and we'll get teams set up. All power sets and levels are welcome, as long as you're a Tank!
See ya' there!
