  1. Well the CoX community losing an artist is never a fun thing, but since you are offering...

    It started off as a good day. The sun was shining, the coffee was hot, and he got to work 10 minutes early. As a research assistant to Dr. Mitchell Lawerence, chief entomologist at Paragon University, he led a pretty quiet life. Then, the day got worse, a whole lot worse. The Rikti invaded, and a squad of the alien soldiers raided the campus to try and kidnap the head professors. Trying to protect his boss and friend, he jumped in front of a rikti ray bolt and was thrown into the back of the lab and knocked out. When he awoke in the hospital, he was drastically changed, but declared that even with what had happened, he liked being a hero, and would use his newfound abilities to become something else, the Oddbug

    Im trying to get rid of the hasten-like high pitched whine noise during the activation of my fire tank's burn power.

    After seeing your post I just tried puting in a silent version of hasten.ogg in powers on test to try that, still hearing the offfending noiseupon burn's activation unfortunantly.

    Okay I was driving myself crazy trying to figure this out for you,
    I must have laid down 100 Burn patches trying to figure out what you were talking about. Here's the thing - my fire tank doesn't have Hasten.
    I copied over to test and respecced into it and guess what - you only get that high pitched Hasten sound if you use Burn while the Hasten power is active. You may want to report that bug.
    That sound file, however, has got a little burst at the end, and is
    hasten2.ogg
    If you mute that, you should be good to go!

    I just respeced into this on my blaster and wow is it annoying when set to auto-fire. Here ya go...

    Activation is
    aim5.ogg

    The constant hum is
    phase_loop.ogg

    Both in Powers.

    Hi, I'm BCP, and I'm an 8x8-aholic. My little personal base has been my obsession for quite some time, and now the only reason I want to get a larger base is because I think I've stuffed about as much as humanly possible into my 8x8 base. Anyway, check it out. Maybe you'll get some ideas that I stole from others.

    The base (overview) is designed around views down hallways. This is what you see when you enter.

    The base began as a place to hang out, but slowly turned into (big surprise if you know me) a Library. Hence, the first room you see is a reading room, adjoined by a small laboratory..

    The main hall comes next, and acts as the base hub. It contains the second reading room, the crafting area,, and has a side area containing our base's only teleporter.

    Our our infirmary is broken up into a waiting area, and an examination room, with cots to care for the sick.

    Our base's main attraction is the library. It is a large (4x4) room, subdivided into several smaller compartments for easier organization. It has a full-sized classroom, a reference desk, and a massive central reading room, which contains most of the library's stacks. The stacks themselves have several nooks nestled away where patrons can read in peace.

    Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed the base tour. I'd like to show more, but I've already rambled enough as it is. Contact me @BCP in game if you'd like to take a tour.

    No offence, but the screening process on the 1st layer of Hell at PlayNC has in the past produced some whacky results, such as Petitions from COH being forwarded to the staff of entirely different games. As such, I'd rather we be armed as well as possible to get our petitions regarding RMTs forwarded to the proper authorities as expediently as possible.

    No, it will not. CoH doesn't even want you overriding the files to begin with, it certainly won't help you.

    Most posters will tell you what folder it's in. If it's power related, you'll most often use D:\City of Heroes\data\sound\Ogg\Powers as your folder. (You may have it in a different drive path but I posted what I thought would be as close as possible.)

    There are two things that I have which aren't standard: I'm installed to D drive and I already have a "data" folder because I have a map pack that used it and created a texture subfolder.

    The map pack has got you started, now just create the appropriate subfolders in sound and you're all set.

    Are you talking about the activation? Because I don't hear anything after it activates, so I must already have that sound turned off if there's a hum.
