  1. Yeah, that was really cool. While I was at it, I checked out some of OV's other works, they're pretty epic as well. Was listening to the Gotham Theme, and right at about 45 seconds I got massive goosebumps.

/signed for having Ominous Voice re-work CoX music.

SWG is still kicking from '03. Barely, and probably not for much longer, but it's still there.

That specific instance was at some Freakshow rave-thing. The last mission on the Freaklympics arc. I haven't seen it anywhere else since, and can't recall ever seeing them before running Ultra mode.

Up until around March, I was using a lower end computer and was running the game on "recommended" (or lower) and never saw those lines. After I got my new PC, I was able to run at max, and still never saw them. It was only after running in Ultra that I noticed them, but as Aggelakis said I'm probably only just now noticing them because I'm paying more attention to the new look.

Whenever I get on today I'll try running some missions on low-light or dark maps, and see if I can recreate it.

That's possible. I got my computer back around March, so I really haven't checked for any updates.

You're right in that the line is not supposed to be visible, but that problem has been there since I can remember. It's not a graphics card problem as far as I know, but a geometry/texture problem that the devs would need to fix themselves.

As to your second picture, I really have no clue.
That's interesting. In 3 years playing this game I've never seen either one until recently when Ultra mode came out.
  6. Forgive me if it's already been mentioned, but then again I guess you can't report a bug/glitch/issue too much.

Since I've been able to play in Ultra Mode, I've noticed these little lines that go across entire rooms. They seem to only be noticeable at certain angles. Also, I've only seen them while on indoor maps.

(That one's a little hard to see)

Just wanted to see if anyone else has seen these, and to draw awareness to them if the devs haven't noticed them yet.

Graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 5670. Any further information, ask and you shall recieve.
  7. My main is a MA/SR Scrapper, lvl 33 (as of yesterday), and I'm stuck on that second half of the Doppelganger arc fighting Arcon Burkholder. Any advice on how to beat this guy solo?

    Thanks.

We can? I just went to the tailor today to try it and the only thing I saw that could "change my height" was the leg slider.
  9. If I had had a drink in my mouth upon seeing this, you sir, would owe me a new monitor.

Would only be better if that "KA-POW!" appeared on screen a la '60s Batman.
  11. Favorite thing to do on my scrapper:

    1. Get mobs' attention.

    2. Run behind a wall or other cover.

    3. Crane Kick the first sorry SOB to come around the corner.

    4. Watch previously mentioned SOB bounce back down the hall like a bouncy ball.

I also like crane kicking people over the side of buildings, railings, or out of mid-air (for aerial enemies).

It's also kinda fun to get KB'd cause, at least for me, soon as my toon hops back up it's like "ohh....ohh you done it now."

Also, even though Eagle Elaw doesn't cause KB, it has to be the most epic attack I've seen so far.
  12. I wouldn't say I've had one of those moments yet at least to that degree. I've always had an attachment to my main toon as he "is me". Just prior to joining CoH, I'd written a little story where the main character was based on myself, and it turned out he became a costumed hero. Once I got into CoH, I basically just brought him over as best I could (did it for CO as well but 1) apparently there's already an NPC hero called "Nighthawk" who's built basically the same as my toon ended up in terms of powers (never seen him physically) and 2) CO sucks ).

However, recently I changed servers and of course "Night-Hawk" was taken. I tried several variations that didn't look too ridiculous (like nIgHtHaWk, or some crap like that) but either it was taken or "wasn't a suitable name". Finally ended up with "Dark'Hawk". Within a day I had bought another rename token and ended up switching to "Knight'Hawk" or something like that. For whatever reason, "Darkhawk" just didn't work for me. He's been "Nighthawk" for the last 3 years plus the fanfic I'd done (which I'm working on a sequel to it). Any other name just wasn't going to work.

I'm thinking though that if I understand how Going Rogue is going to work correctly, that existing characters can do things that shift them between good and bad, I'll really get a sense of who Night-Hawk really is....and in a way maybe some more about myself as well (since, as I said, he's supposed to be me as a hero).

    Hello

Thanks all. Like I said, it's nice to see more than one hero in a zone for a change.

    Hello

Just transferred from Protector, it's gotten a little too quiet over there. Thought I'd drop in and introduce myself. It's nice to finally see multiple heroes in one zone for a change. Hope to see y'all around.
  15. Been here since summer 07. Was looking for a new home after the NGE ravaged SWG, and found it in Paragon City. While I've had to take multiple breaks since then, I always find myself back here.

One thing here is that it's its own universe, and your character(s) is/are YOUR creation. With SWG, STO, WoW I feel like I'm just one of many and that my story is written for me, I just have to act (or play, rather) it out. Here, I made my character's story. I already have a 30-some page MS Word fanfic on him, and am working on a second. I've tried doing the same with my SWG and STO characters, but it just doesn't seem to work as well.

I also love how there's no grinding (despite what many of the haters/uninformed say). I've never once gone out and beat up a bunch of Skulls to get to the next level. There is so much "story" content out there, there's really no need. The only reason I've done the above is because of role play reasons (I'm a hero, I should be beating the snot out of purse snatchers ). And of course the history and lore of the game is amazing.

After basically 3 years (about 2 in terms of play time) I'm still not at the level cap, and am in no rush. CoH is what made me a fan of games/MMOs (the few that are like this) where it's more about the journey, than the destination. And while I'm not known in the community, the people I've seen here on the forums, and the few I've talked to in-game have for the most part been some pretty cool people. Much better than the $h!thole that is the STO forums and Zone chat.

I haven't been on in quite a while, but yesterday when I got back in I noticed Protector was practically a ghost town. In maybe two hours worth of gameplay, I saw two heroes. That actually made me rather sad; to see such a well built, well balanced game so empty. Especially when you've got half-*****, half-destroyed games like CO, STO, and SWG still kicking (granted the first two are still rather new). I pray this game gets back to its former glory and continues into the near future, as it's become my second MMO home.

Yeah. I've been back about a week/week and a half and yesterday was the first time I saw anything spoken in broadcast. Even as far back as 6 months ago, my chat box was filled with "lvl # lft".
  17. Welcome back. I just got back after about a 6 month break. Server seems awfully quiet since the last time I was in-game...

    Ah, ok. Thank you.
  19. I apologize if this has been asked before. On that screen where you choose for a custom villain to use "custom", "standard" etc. there's the two windows. The left one being where you choose specifically what powers that character has. The right one has that slider where you choose how much damage that toon does (ex: "thunder kick hits like a level 25 minion).

My question, what effect does that have and does anyone actually use it? When I've tested (with my lvl 28) at level 25 damage, the minions are "green". I just want to make sure that if a level 50 decides to play my arc, they won't be fighting level 25s.

I hope this makes sense, lol.

Actually, I saw one today (err, yesterday rather). Just entered IP, and a female NPC walks by and says "<soandso> saved my wife from the Council." O_o
