Well there is a speech that might funnel the flow of characters that might have used the exploit but seriously it was there and people were able and the axe ultimately lands on the people who leave their front door open.
I couldn't give a toot if people ran around with the 50's they made. The fact is closed beta failed. The devs failed to view all potential outcomes before publish. People who didn't fail to pick up on it the moment it went live did the "Oh look a 5 pound note on floor" thing and took what was there.
I actually did no such PL as believe me when I say farming is boring, to me it really is. But complete loss of a character could be harsh where imo some blame lies with those who created and released it as giving an inch will lead to miles taken.
PLed characters could have a "No badges allowed" fate. This means that in inviting people to a team to say get a MoSTF done I don't have to unknowingly end up with someone who needs to be taught how to play in the process, this was what worried me most. -
I think Starsman has some charts US side and Arcanavilles been and looked at it all too. I wouldn't worry about it personally as you will be a player behind it plus the one slotting it in addition to a fact that whatever primary and pool powers you add to it you will be changing your level of survivability anyway. Oh and the last thing is that every survivability model that people have come up with lacks any real accuracy.
-
Why not? Currently there is little in the way of bugs with both graphics and powersets and so when it comes to team resources its probably not going to take anything away from fixes to the present game that you and other people are after.
Actually, the only opinion this needs is that of a Developer especially when US server players outnumber europe players 10 - 1. -
I thought of new Archetypes for Heroes and Villains. I always felt there was 1 missing.
Heroes could have the almost equivalent to the VEAT with attacks that can be say a mix of melee, ranged and traps. I've always fancied something that can shoot a bow, throw knives and do some punches and kicks or use a sword or something. Couple that with some leadership qualities and its a nice character to play. The combination of looking at a CO character with a sword on their back, knives strapped and firing a bow plus me playing a Paragon this morning has made me think that perhaps its something CoH can do with. A character that can use a bow, do some kicks and throw knives all in the same chain is the sort of thing I am ideally after. Ofc you can change that to fire pistols, do some punches and throw shurikens. I think with the right power tree you can surely have people mix it up with a variety of options such as crossbow even.
Villain side there is no shape shifter. Whilst the hero version is a kheldian a Villain version can shape shift into different human proportions. In different proportions they then take on different roles that can round a team off doing whatever role what archetype maybe missing from team. It certainly doesn't have to be shape shifting to an alien form so no new stuff. It could be going from normal size to huge or to incredible small and thin. Kind of like growth in a way and with the different sizes they can become more brutish, speedsterish or small and highly defensive and stalker like. A nice trick would be like in the brute form there is some absorbency so lets say instead of maneuvers offering defense they have the resistance equivalent or a pbaoe toggle that is -dam. That sort of thing could imply that the brute size is infact blocking aoe damage.
Either way I think their is enough in the box of what already exists to create them and could done right give something new for people to look forward too. I know its pointless me making up what powers they have because a balancing act is needed by the guy (Castle) whose paid to do that and would be better at it or maybe there would be a reason why it could not happen. -
Well I happen to like damn right lunatic suggestions!

It appears to me that your English is that good that not only do you need not to apologize but some of us English players should be embarrassed. I am not quite English; that'll be my excuse; and I am going to stick to it!

All the way to almost defeating LR and someone has the worse kind of luck. Dead funny, I did say rare event to see that happen and it was. Well I got a humour side! We could of stayed in and pleaded for a GM thinking about it but too late now, should be v easy next time and Saxtus + everyone else barely needed healing which is good for me cos I poo at it!
Prolly best to have own thread for this btw. -
I'll look again to see if kb protection is needed to be high for somit.
-
I just found PVP Mode on the Hero builder!

Nope I kid. It helped to switch over to get an idea of end drain I could of been expecting from my own now that I am looking at the effect chain. It switches me onto Coralax epic more.
I got questions from looking at the builds. How much KB prot is needed cos to me it looks ott. Looking back on my quickie it lacked +HP and +Regen although with the heal I wasn't too sure.
I am currently mixing builds atm getting a mix of Globeys and Spags with what I got right anyway
Edit: Right done and PMed with further twists, now all I'd need to do is farm the bleep out of the game. They should just have people buy enhancement sets. -
Right I got 3 builds to compare now so can look at common key areas and advantages and disadvantages where there is a different idea on slotting in my own time.
-
One thing you can note in that build I posted is that I was at a point where I decided on what to have for "Duels" then decided on bonuses that were for dueling anyone but with certain insps on me but I had yet to look at alternative globals and the attack chain. Somethings may have more rechg than I needed.
In terms of playing I was going to be one who could give good chase, lower def immediately, drain end and slap on the holds, then lay in the damage constantly keeping endurance down and holding before more damage so upto now was very much in the assault state of mind.
It is v different to Spags and I started it 10 mins before I posted Spag and Globe it.
I think with Fire blast its not going to be as quick (easy to set up time) to get good a set of attacks in but I may look into that an all cos I have one of them as well.
I do think new PvP zones should be had which are also ones where IO sets work without DR. -
Doh you showed me a build just as I was in the middle of doing one I will post what I had so far to you and Globey right now! You can tell its no copy and I was just getting into it. Oh and TY for input.

...now THAT looks bad and an MMO can never shake the reputation it gains at launch.

That could of been what Jack Emmert meant by "You are what you are at launch" and then onto something about looking after the customers you've got. Either way without a better poot poot I couldn't touch AoC. -
Yeah I don't lag at all on the US servers which does say something imo. Despite the fact that they are across the Atlantic the connection happens to be so much better.
-
It wasn't a reply to you so keep your nose out. Your opinion is your opinion. Don't be so arrogant. You don't live everywhere. If you can't be on the forums and be nice I will assume your on the forums to actually meet people. Sure some people are naturally sick but many people are raised in poor and rough areas learning to be a certain way.

I have a pvp toon?
[/ QUOTE ]
Do you have an Elec/Therm? If so, yes I would say you have the most viable dueling toon on the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
I chose Elec/ cos its red. This has been my problem with pvp that some chars are more viable than others. In PvE it looks that way but only because of the laws we set ourselves but then there is always the pace factor in PvE which can't be helped.
If I were to PvP how would I make one? I'll try when I get a mo and I'll post it to see if you would laugh at it
Edit: No. I will PM it to Globey and see what he thinks cos he is one of the few PvPers on this forum that I think matter. -

Heh. Sure it was. And pre-ED the servers were busier, lag was unheard of, broadcast was used for intelligent, considere discourse and everybody wrote the Queen's English with proper punctuation and ortography.

Well, point one is on the money anyway.

Oh i don't know i think Bridger had a very good grasp on the forum nerf bat sometimes accompanied by a "polite" email to tell you to stop being a [censored].
[/ QUOTE ]
Bridger, for all his seeming competence as a mod, wasn't exactly the best when it came to disruptive members. He allowed a complete jerk to stay on the forums, flinging some of the most vicious bile and hatred ever seen on these forums, and who didn't even get a ban after physically threatening several forum members with assault.
That guy SHOULD have been thrown out, but the only thing that ever happened (I asked B this in person at a player meet), was that B phoned him and discussed the issue, he promised to stop, and then kept on doing it before eventually quitting under his own steam.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now see! Those people do exist and if it weren't for mods locking stuff or diffusing situations who knows!
I personally think that when people resort to name calling then that is playground like. Showing lack of respect "before my day"
got people a clip round the ear and when you got home and told ya parents about it, ya dad hit ya an all!
I know an old guy who when was at school got a cane across the top of the head, when he complained to another teacher he got a cane round the side of the head and when he told his dad he got a whack around the otherside, he never misbehaved again and his ear still hurts now and then till this day. -

These boards could of been far worse and omega sektor meets could of ended up with punch ups. At least I know people who would sooner knock a guy the hell out that move their lips arguing with them.

You've got people on these forums who have grown up in different areas. Now if you were to be arguing with one of them from a rough one within their threat zone they'd waste no time in hitting you. It's nothing to do with anything but upbringing.
In some areas men can end up in an argument (often started between the women folk
) the moment the line of personal space is crossed that's when it happens and it is somewhat out of personal self defense.
Some Martial Artists would consider their threat zone with another Martial Artist to be somewhere in the region of 9ft away. It's just in some areas normal.
In work places before all the PC stuff came in, it wasn't uncommon for 2 men to go out back, sort out their differences and come back in and forget about it.
Totally unlike some people in some areas where an on going he said, she said, constant b***hing goes on and people have some stupid thing called a frenemy.
Moderators are very important imo. -

I'm sorry to say, but it was the moderation as much as the playerbase that kept these boards as pleasant as they were. We've always been in need of a firm smacking down on these boards, and anyone who remembers otherwise needs their rose tinted glasses removing.

I don't know what you're smoking, but this certainly appears to be a one-off perspective. I think you're on your own, there.

I have a pvp toon? -
Shame I was feeling unwell yesterday, I had only been up a few hours like 4 or something and yet was so tired. I got there and waited and because my mind wasn't occupied I switched off and slept.
When we did it, we told the Tank to make himself obvious in front of the tree. We entered the vine field from the side and with a consideration that it had 180 degrees of view it was more like North West West of the tree in the room rather than West. You were told where to enter when you died on to your squishie making your defeat a case of bad luck and simply following orders. I thought at the time we should be further around. The whole 180 degrees northern arc needs to be clear, then range shots into the southern 180 degree area with perhaps melee toons cleaning the middle. The whole time we did the tank was Mr Obvious to that tree. The point at which I told people to enter was safe but in doing the bottom half we were seeing vines regrow so it did get a little panicky. Assume the tree can shoot sideways and so be further back than that.
I was on that toon in IP as its preferable but could of changed to suit what other people brought and balance things about a bit.
I am actually not playing the game or any game atm as my energy is a bit low atm. Could be hayfever I dunno.
So many defeats trying to split them is why I would advocate "tank the lot" situations where possible and for us it was. We had nowhere near that amount of defeats with the tank them all situation. Without distractions I would of gone on to fort cycle the scrappers better but I was not too worried as we had lost from a controller planting, from being up their butts, my very first question was "Why were you there?". Granted in pulling, if it aint 1 coming or just 2 easily done together ones coming, then everyone needs to boot it. If people don't then you either have to be herding them up or formating them in the teams favour, but as it goes no matter what you set the safe areas to stand may not be the areas people choose to stand.
I choose to do it for fun so upon failure there is absolutely no problems for me, I don't get the slightest bit ticked. What's said by person with star should stand imo and if they say don't push the red button and someone does then I see a problem as that's being warned of a mistake and not learning from it. -
I disagree. There has been a lot of anti dev stuff I have disagreed with particularly when it comes to ED and aggro caps as they've opened the doors to character diversity, playstyle and in making everyone's characters that much more equal. People needing certain powerset's in teams to get content done is purely down to the laws they've written for themselves.
People pay to play, albeit have fun or as a past time, it comes to be a past time with characters that are going through levels that aren't considerably fun to get to levels that are fun. I know fun is subjective and people make their own decisions.
So it's not for me to look back and remember the good old days it's for me to look at now and think "Well apart from the fact that people by skipping the non fun stages of toons are saving subscription money that old customers couldn't and there will be an amount of 50s that'll be hardly useful to a new level; may as well bat for the opposite side. This game was going somewhere".
I was looking forward to the days where people were being more diverse in their team set ups and simply accepting the person who asked to join first rather than picking someone who asked to join 3rd but has powersets x/y but the current situation has set things back more.
I could write out how despite being limited to a seemingly desperate team what potential can be gained in terms of survivability but I don't write guides as I like to see people with things to find out for themselves.
Now I just see it taking longer, you will have people of ideal powersets built very badly and not very good with them. I realize that can be the way anyway and won't necessarily be so with those with alts already in game for passed few months but still the coming out of the caves bit is going to be slower.
