They might not all be able to do Friday though. I'll see what I can come up with. -
Kat,
I didn't call you that name at all, that's too much.
I'm just worried about teams losing standing points and so on over this.
If you really, honestly feel this is an issue, dock a team 1 point or a half point or something. Losing two points out of 4, or 4 points seems excessive from this point of view. Or make them play with what they have loaded in Pocket D at the time. There are better options than assigning game losses over this.
Another solution would be for you to have people PM their lineups before the match on the boards. You paste them in Broadcast, people have to play as such.
Sorry if I came off as being aggressive, but the way your post was worded seemed to me to be encouraging people to call time etc. to force a forfeit.
The point is we're all friends here on Champion, the important thing is keeping the matches rolling.
How about this:
Line-ups expected by 9:45 PM EST
Line-ups aren't in by 9:55, 1 point penalty or loss of map pick.
Line-ups aren't in by 10:00, forfeit or play what you have.
No line-ups submitted at all, you're out of luck.
Anyway, you're the manager and respect for your rulings.
Just got a bad feeling about this one.

Quote:Matches are posted, assuming no new teams join in the last 20 mins.
As a team how would you like to get 4 points for a win and not have to even fight another team?
I'd hate this.
Ask for a DQ on another team who doesn't have their lineup in by 9:45pm EST and you will get those 4 points easy enough.
Quote:Think another team isn't deuchebag enough to do it? Think again. Think that I won't enforce those rules and give them the DQ on you regardless of the circumstances? Think again.
Well you can do whatever you want as league manager, but I recommend any team that loses points for something like this drop from the league or at the very least roll their eyes.
Quote:Quote:TLDR version -- Lots of teams are late every week. Don't cry when that causes your team to lose points.
GLHF!
I mean...it's not like everyone has crazy connections/PCs either.
Is there anything else we should be getting game losses for? Maybe we all need the same SG uni? Do we need to stand in file so our builds can be viewed by every person? Are any emotes offensive and considered bad sportsmanship?
The point is, 9:45, 9:46, 9:47...they get sent in. Now, if a line-up isn't in by 10:00 or later, you definitely have an issue. Are they?
Losing points for something like this is a terrible, terrible, terrible idea.
It's going to turn into a bunch of stopwateh geeks all hitting "Refresh" on timeanddate.com and going "DQ!DQ!DQ!" Is that really what we want here? Really?
The 30-40 people in this league are probably among the few dedicated enough to still Arena on a schedule. Why turn this into a small fry thing?
You played on test Kat. Even with no line-up submissions, you know matches started within 5-10 of the announced time. This just seems to be an invitation to deuching another team that might be above you or that you think you can't beat by using time as a weapon. Lame.
If the issue is that you need help with line-ups, we will GLADLY help take them and copy paste them in Broadcast. Give people a little leeway on this, but set a hard limit to submit. Yeah, I know 9:45 is the hard limit, but people see the matches starting at 10 and wander in around 9:45. Have any teams actually complained about late line-ups or is this just to make our lives more difficult? How do we know someone petitioned about the time? Do we get to see chat logs on the forums or in PMs?
Please reconsider this. It's a terrible, extremely abusable idea and will only lead to teams dropping from the league or the league becoming a game of "City of Worldclock." -

+10, awesome stuff.
It's pretty much over though. It's going to take DCUO to bleed more subs before the Developers get anything done, and by then it will be too late. -
Quote:Indeed. There are only 8 points difference between 1st and last place. With 30 more matches left in the season it is still any ones ballgame.
Just win two of your next three and we lose all our games and voilĂ , you are in first place.
Looking at the standings now is pointless, look at them in mid-December. -

Quote:Then the Devs need to make encounters be more than HUGE REGEN and HUGE HIT POINTS.Every trial/tf/sf doesn't have up to 24 people flinging well placed nukes to fight a single AV.
It's just as likely that some dev (on an incognito account say) watched the CoP AV drop like a stone after a bunch of nukes and said "We can't have this.".
I'm going to be honest right now. I'm going to try the end game content coming up, but if it's annoying/tedious/unrewarding and demands a ton of effort/planning/etc beyond say...a States/Recluse/Hami Raid I'm just going to run ITFs/Ouros for Merits.
I did the CoP once and haven't done it since I got the badges.
I'll likely do the same with anything new if the reward/time isn't efficient. -
Not sure, but isn't there a 'date created' these days next to your characters?
I know my namesake was made on my first day ingame...so March/April of 2005 I guess... -
GM response has been much, much, much quicker than it used to be.
Generally they've responded within 5-10 minutes...only a few times have they passed that mark; comparatively, in the olden times you could go a half hour to an hour of waiting... -
I liked the interview but I'm somewhat puzzled about the "number online" revealed by the Search function. For example, a while back I could go to Freedom and see 600+ listed (list is truncated, it would say) but these days it seems to cap at 50 total. How can I get the 'real numbers' as they were back then? I find it unlikely, for example, that Freedom has only 50 people on at any time.

Quote:That's it right there, let know if there any concerns or so on.
Also, nice kickballs last night everyone. -
I'd love to participate, in fact my only published arc might fit the bill but not really interested in all the legalese.
I'd much rather if the Devs did what they had said in the past and search/note one Dev's Choice or more per month, preferably with internal help of those not engaged on live server play.
Happy for the contest, best of luck to those that participate. -

Quote:I didn't have billions back then but I did have tens to hundreds of millions.Hi All! I joined after i16 went out, so I'm experiencing all the benefits of all the issues and can't imagine what it was without it. So, I'm curious... when the market was introduced, did folks have billions hoarded and ready to spend? Just wondering how inf was pumped to create the economy now. Some questions come to mind:
- Did devs hop in and buy stuff to spread inf around?
With daily Hamidon Raids on Champion (it respawned every few hours and we had it down to a 20-30 minute science, minus occasional Yellow Dawn griefing) we'd get a bunch of Hamidon Origins (no timer back then). Someone would always offer to buy your Cyto or Micro for 30-40 mil...or trade for other stuff. Or they'd run you through Dreck or Sam Naples and you'd get a bunch more influence. Or you'd run Katie for 10 single origins off Mary, quit out, vendor them and restart.
As stated previously, nothing much to spend on in the day outside of costume changes, costume contests and SOs so...
These days, there are so many inf outlets...you can make 100,000,000 + just cashing in one Hero or Villain Merit on specific recipes. Or you can trade in your Hero/Villain Merit and get five recipes...or you can craft and sell common IOs...or you can buy recipes and re-sell crafted items, or...
Don't be alarmed by high prices. Once you start rolling at level 50, inf will be aplenty. -
Quote:Exit (To my knowledge) wasn't running a Mind/NRG in our matches. One of our teammates was though.Just fyi I've had my dom for nearly 2 years now (it was my pvp toon before I left the game for a year for aion). I'd hardly consider that copying someone who I didn't even know about until this league.
I don't know who the other 2 people you are reffering to that run mind/nrg doms.
Also, schedule please?
