I don't think the generous Lady Dee said anything about having to convince the monsters to attack you. From what I gather, stone tankers will be bringing monsters to you, so you should generate SOME aggro.
Of course, there are many, many ways to circumvent any danger to yourself:
i)Ice Tanker with Hibernate, Phase Shift, Hyper Phase, Invention Phase
ii)Personal Forcefield
ii)Stealth? Illusion Controllers with Superior Invisibility, non-ills with Stealth, Warshades and Peacebringers with their long-duration Phase (Warshades also have Stealth), Dark Scrappers with their own, Blasters and Controllers with Hibernate.
iii)You can't attack at all but that doesn't mean you can't move. If you superspeed around, Fly above, superleap over monsters while surviving, this is not an 'attack'.

Friday:
Farm Defeat all villains in area by Harvey Maylor for an hour or two.
Get my 25 Ill/Emp skd up to a 45/46 to get to 50 for test
Get my 14 Sonic/Cold skd up to a 33/34 and help fight 38s.
Hopefully ding 20-22.
Saturday:
Hop on Pinnacle to get my friend's Fire/Kin to level up my 25 FF Defender, 39 Ice Tanker and 32 Ice/Rad.
Sunday:
Level up more villains, with a good 2-3 hours of Demon farming for arcanes and inf.
Edit, just realized today is the Super Bowl heh.

This would be great...in pve! In PvP, a Toggle PHASE on another player would be insane, especially since toggles are autohit! The last thing we need is someone toggling out a Defender, Blaster and just putting them on follow. The end cost would need to go up a LOT if this would be changed into a Toggle.

This, I don't like as much. Force Bubble is pretty perfect as is to be honest. It's a great mitigation tool. The +damage doesn't fit thematically either. -

And here is where I disagree. I think it WILL limit how most people CHOOSE to play FFers because I think most people DO think of themselves as "buffbots". Because of this, I think most people will choose to sit in the middle of the team and not move, wasting all the rest of the powers in the set and making them dusty. That's why I think the "big three" powers should either be left alone, or actually REDUCED in Defensive capabilites as a sacrifice to the Gods of Powerset Balance to allow us more utility in the rest of the set.

Forcefields is an interesting set; when I am on my Mind/Bubbler namesake I am as close to feeling invincible as I can get without having to log in the Ill/Rad.
It has always seemed to me that Forcefields worked better as a secondary than as a Primary. As a Controller secondary, you have, well, control and the added defense and tricks of your secondary.
FF players in general don't seem to see themselves as 'buffbots' to be fair. I think that...those such as yourself and myself (well...I am nowhere near as experienced as yourself, but I've grown to love my Bubbler) realize that we are more of a medium-level mitigation set.
I see Sonics as being the 'fixed' Forcefields. It has Clarity, Debuffs, +Res shields and a cage as well.
Where Forcefields falls apart is twofold:
i)Very little resistance to Defense Debuffs. Not so prevalent ingame as in PvP, but boy do Rularuu suckamong others. I wouldn't mind if PFF or Disperion had some kind of such resistance. Also, in PvP you can just laugh away the Defense buffs because of bloatrous Defense debuffs or ToHit Buffs.
ii) The higher-tier powers are more skill intensive. If you just turn on Force Bubble you'll likely overaggro and run the risk of getting your team killed. Detention Field just doesn't seem good to some players. Repulsion Bomb isn't too bad but Sonics seems to do that a little better as well.
While we aren't necessarily Defense manipulators we are, to an extend, Defense [/i] enablers[/i].
One of the best things the Devs did was add the "Deflected" messages to Forcefields and such, to show we are actualy DOING something.
By adding some sort of Defense Debuff to either Repulsion Bomb or Force Bubble, we aren't breaking the set thematically. Hell, we would be adding more tools to our arsenal. We don't need the debuffs to be to the level of Darkest Night or Radiation Infection either.
The big problem is, does Castle WANT us to be better or does he see us as "underperforming". The latter seems to be his metric in these cases...
I'm afraid to say that outside of PvP, my Forcefielder doesn't underpeform, at all. -

It's Detention Field; it can cage archvillains...which makes combat with them somewhat moot but can help with multiple AV spawns. -
PFF is fine, so are the friend shields and Dispersion Bubble.
Detention Field: Oh boy...being unable to use powers in this would cause all kinds of issues in (yes, I AM bringing it up) player vs. player areas. I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of counter to DF (either inspirations or whatnot) to alleviate it. And this is coming from someone that cages people without a second thought.
In PvE, I quite like that Detention Field can be used to cage Archvillains. It makes some of that higherend content so much more fun.If anything, I wouldn't mind Detention Field having an aforementioned 'placate' effect on teammates.
Actually, if I can go to 'cottage country' I'd like DF to shift someone like that crazy Grav power (called Dimension Shift I believe) so that teammates wouldn't 'see' the person and so on.
Force Bubble: Reduce its endurance cost slightly, to match Dispersion Bubble's. It's listed at 0.68/seconds, slightly higher than Dispersion. I'm a huge, huge fan of this power though. If anything, I would tweak it 'geometrically'. Currently when I use it, it seems that mobs directly in front of me get repelled/knocked down first while ones on sides get 'brushed' but not so much repel. I wouldn't mind if the 'pulses' were more consistent.
Repulsion Bomb: Increase Stun to Mag 3 to put in on par with Controller holds/stuns. Little seen or used power (though I do use it occasionally and have it planned in some builds) this might make it more attractive.
Overall, my namesake being my first hero and character...gives me respect and fondness for the Forcefield set.
My only issues with Defense in general are pvp related...Don't really feel safe under bubbles/PFF when facing heroes and such. But this isn't the veteran PhilocticKnight's point, really.

Epic badges aren't a bad idea...Empath is pretty ridiculous though.
My Empath/Psy is about a third to Medical Specialist after over a year's play. Nowadays, I do most of my 'healing' in the Arena...but not with gladiators, with players.
I expect in a 10 minute Arena match I can heal upwards of 3,000-4,000 hit points with Absorb Pain countering spikes on Blasters and such.
I MAY get Medical Specialist in a few months.
I will NEVER get Empath...on my EMPATHY DEFENDER, unless I do things outside the design of the game (massive farming with gladiators).
If you want "Epic" badges, Master of Statesman's/Recluse isn't a bad starting point. The 10,000,000 damage one is pretty hefty too, considering it's needed for a villain accolade.
But when you get to a billion or several billions...then you're encouraging farming, lots of it...not much 'epic', character wise, about that. -
