Since THOR was holding the hammer already, the worthiness enchantment wouldn't work on Hulk since Hulk was holding THOR's arm and not the hammer. Hulk then used his anger-amped strength to keep flipping THOR's hand with the hammer in it back into his face, thus repeatedly hitting THOR with his own hammer.

    Heh.

Well let's see about some of the differences between them:

    1. one is big and green the other looks human (had to get that out of the way)

    2. Both have 100ton level strength, but Hulk starts at 100 ton and gets stronger. Thor can double his strength with his belt of power, but Hulk can surpass that

    3. Both are agile and fast, but as Hulk gets more powerful he'd get faster then THOR

    4. Hulk cannot lift THOR's hammer per the enchantments of ODIN, he has never been able to.

    5. Hulk has never been able to damage the hammer

    6. THOR has command of the weather, something Hulk doesn't have though Hulk could cause some serious ground quakes or use his sonic thunder clap

    7. Hulk doesn't fly, he leaps for miles at a time. THOR can fly and thus steer while in flight, Hulk just jumps and lands and jumps again.

    8. THOR can use his hammer to open dimension warps from Earth to pretty much anywhere so he could banish the Hulk as he once did with the Juggernaut.

    9. THOR has lived a long time and thus should have far greater combat skill and tactics then then Hulk.

Well here's the thing: The Hulk that is slated to be in the Avengers is starting to sound more and more to me like how the Hulk was mentally when he first joined the team back in the 60's comics. He had some intelligence, though his IQ wasn't as high as Banner's, he was pretty abrasive in terms of personality basically like "WHO ARE YOU LOOKING AT?" or "HULK IS INVINCIBLE". This version of Hulk long predates the near mindless "HULK, SMASH" that many fans know of. The Hulk we've had in the comics for the past few years since Planet Hulk is pretty much again how he was when he first joined the Avengers, albeit now with the addition of the personality disorder/mental communication with Banner.

To me that is a good thing, since "HULK, SMASH!" being his main vocabulary gets old. Yeah it's fun to watch him cut loose and crush his enemies, but the constant near mindless state wore rather thin. I was glad when they finally upped his IQ again.

Of course there is the chance that if the fight goes on too long and Hulk gets too riled up that he may start seeing everyone as an enemy to smash, THEN we'd get the Hulk vs. Thor fight

Yeah, Ang Lee definitely nailed the Hulk's power levels in his movie. Glad to see that Hulk's power level is back to comic book levels for the Avengers.

Possibly, but I think the best line award will likely be awarded to Tony Stark

    Loki: "I have an army!"

Tony Stark's response: "WE have a HULK!"

or it may go to Stark for this dialogue:

Cap to Tony: "Big man in a suit of armor, take it away and what are you?"

Tony's response: "A genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist"

Shows what looks like a scene of Cap giving orders and says to to the HULK.... "HULK! SMASH!" Hulk just grins and then we see scenes of him in action.

Humorously it ended wondering what new comic character will drive the next generation of comic movies. Humorous because DC and Marvel comics really haven't come up with anyone new, at least anyone that became a huge hit since the 70s? They recycle just like movies.
DC really wouldn't need a new character to drive their movies if they could get their non-Batman movies right. Green Lantern......could have been better. Batman Forever and Batman and Robin are best filed along with Superman 3, 4 and Returns under W.W.N.S.O.T, they have yet to get a decent script for Wonder Woman much less cast the part, Superman movies.... okay I'm going to say this as a statement of fact and not to speak ill of the dead: Yes Christopher Reeve set the tone for how Superman should be played, but Superman Returns was too mired in trying to copy/emulate/pay tribute to Christopher Reeve. DC needs to get the Superman movies going again and part of that may well involve finally getting the movies out of Reeve's shadow.

DC has yet to get a FLASH movie going, (the old TV series wasn't too bad), they certainly are not up to the task of getting JUSTICE LEAGUE going, they have yet to try making a Captain Marvel/Shazam movie, also why not try Firestorm as a movie?

W.W.N.S.O.T = We Will Not Speak of This

Whatever, even if it is man-portable...still have to have someone ticked off enough or paid enough, sick enough, etc... to use it on someone (thinking personally not necessarily for war purposes which is another thing entirely).
I think it is safe to say that we can be sufficiently tracked by many things already, one more tracking item isn't going to matter much these days.

Yeah I know such weapons are on the drawing board....just wish someone would break the drawing board and say "no more".

Now for a hypothetical question: would you want the phased plasma rifle in a 40 watt range, or would you want a rail gun?

  12. Someone I know just loves watching movies like Star Wars or superhero movies just to rip them apart for all the laws of physics that they defy or break.

Example: he's critical of the fight between Anakin and Obi in Revenge of the Sith, the best of the prequels, and perhaps one of the more epic sword fights in hollywood history. He's making snide comments about how the lava doesn't splash on them at all when the forcefields drop or things collapse or how the overall heat on that volcanic planet should have fried them or left them too dehydrated to fight. I just tell him, "here's a hint: THE FORCE"

Or Superman Returns, when he rescues the plane and argues how Lois should be dead from all the bouncing around, how all the passengers should be dead for assorted reasons and how the plane should have been reduced to fragments in the stadium as Superman was stopping its momentum. Can't argue with all that, but I prefer to point out to him the greater illogical flaw of how Lois is still under the effects of the Jedi Amnesia Kiss that Superman gave her in Superman 2, and gave her again in Superman 4 when she remembered, yet she has a kid and knows that it is the son of Superman, yet doesn't remember their time at the Fortress and can't figure out Clark is Superman?

It is possible to lose things stored in email and the market, I've never had it happen to me but it has happened to others. Instead of bidding on nonexistent items, if you have 15 billion as you say, then designate 8 of your alts to be the money holders. Email to your global address 999,999,999 inf several times then log into the money holders one at a time and claim the funds from email. Keep an excel chart or a notepad list or whatever you need to remember which alts are the money holders in case you need to delete any toons that way you don't delete a 2 billion inf money holder.

Batman and Robin: Batgirl, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Bane - unmentionable

X2: lots of extra mutants, Lady Deathstrike, etc. - great
X-Men Last Stand: Phoenix, Juggernaut, etc. - unmentionable

Iron Man 2 - Black Widow, War Machine, Whiplash - decent, but not as good as the first

Superman 2: Zod, Ursa, Non - great
    Superman 3 - never happened
    Superman 4 - see above

Dark Knight - Joker, Two-Face - best Batman movie so far (not slighting Batman Begins, it was great as well)
Dark Knight Rises - Bane, Catwoman - TBD

I guess it would really determine how well the new characters are written. Some examples:

1 .Joker from Dark Knight - well written, nicely developed character, gave hints on background
    2. Lady Deathstrike from X2 - no need for fleshing out, as plot didn't center on her
    3. Phoenix from Last Stand - horribly written, considering part of the plot centered on her

I'd really hate to see the plot of a movie mangled beyond recognition, just to add more cool characters to the mix. While seeing Adam Warlock, Nova, and the like would be great in a fight against Thanos, it'd almost be best if it just involved Captain Mar-vell recruiting the Avengers in his capacity as Protector of the Universe. We get backstory, we get a plot, and we can move along without the clutter.
Believe me, the last thing I would want is too many characters. But with Thanos as the villain it does open the door for his cosmic arch foes to appear, Warlock, Drax and Mar-Vell. To be honest, I'd prefer they NOT use Adam Warlock at all for the movies. His character is a bit.....unique, in part thanks to how Jim Starlin defined the character, but also the plot device of how Warlock could/does become the Magus is really worn out.

Drax....we could do without him if Thanos shows up, but his sole purpose is to kill Thanos. If they don't make him mindless like the Hulk or as single minded as he was in his first incarnation then it could work. He'd bring extra brute force to the fight against Thanos, and Thanos in his first incarnation was already strong enough to fight both the Thing and THOR at the same time in hand to hand combat.

Mar-Vell....good luck casting him, because I honestly don't know who could play the role especially after he gains Cosmic Awareness and becomes the Protector of the Universe. He should be pivotal in the fight against Thanos, which was his destined purpose as the Protector and it was Mar-Vell that stopped Thanos the first time.

Still, IF Thanos were to be used they'd pretty much have to bring in one of the above mentioned characters, preferably Mar-Vell. Heh, if Mar-Vell does appear in a movie and the movie is a hit and Mar-Vell is portrayed correctly perhaps Marvel Comics will finally develop enough of a backbone to bring him back for good in the comics.

Indeed. Not many writers "get" the character of Adam Warlock and the result has been some rather poor tales back in the 90's. His current status in the comics was that he became the Magus and was subsequently killed in Thanos Imperative, but was briefly restored in the latest Annihilators miniseries. Last I checked he's trapped in a cocoon, locked inside a Kree Sentry and set adrift near the end of the universe or some such. Wouldn't be surprised if when the cocoon hatches we get Warlock back.

Drax: his sole purpose is "KILL THANOS" and he was pretty single minded about that in his first incarnation and when he was brought back in the 90's as "Cosmic Hulk Drax" with his brain damaged he swiftly became comic relief. Years later his brain was healed and he became a more viable character until he was killed off in Thanos Imperative. But he's been dead before and brought back by Kronos so once Thanos returns in the comics I expect Drax to be back. Here's hoping they keep him intelligent and a viable character.

Mar-Vell: Similar to Adam Warlock in that not many writers "get" how to write him since Starlin gave him cosmic awareness and turned him into the Protector of the Universe. That was one reason why they decided to replace him and Starlin wanted to get his new Dreadstar series printed in Marvel's new Epic line of comics, hence Starlin returned to write the Death of Captain Marvel. Now he's slated to return in Avengers vs Xmen thanks to the power of the Phoenix, but given that Carol Danvers will star in the new Captain Marvel series, I sense that Marvel Comics is going to chicken out about Mar-Vell and he will end up dead again. If he shows up in an Avengers movie, I hope that he's in his classic red and black costume and has the nega bands, but not linked to Rick Jones as that may be a bit much. Have his hair be white like it originally was then in the course of the movie he can meet Eon and be changed into the Protector of the Universe. Basically I think if they write him as the Protector of the Universe for a movie or the comics, they should basically think of him as Captain America combined with the knowledge and serenity of a Jedi.

Still, hope to see them in a future movie. Maybe even Richard Ryder as Nova Prime.

The Mind Gem and the rest of the Infinity Gems have not been mentioned at all in the Marvel movies. Yes we get a glimpse of the Infinity Gauntlet in Asgard's weapons vault, but since the bonus scene after the THOR credits show the scientist being shown the tesseract and then we see Loki starting to twist the guy's mind, then it should be the tesseract that Loki has in Avengers.

Actually I expect there to be a bonus scene after the credits of the Avengers movie that will give us all a nice big hint as to who the next villain would be......and I expect that is where we would see THANOS. There is no way that Thanos would play lackey to Loki as Thanos would sooner destroy him.

Also if THANOS does appear as the villain for the sequel that opens the door for certain cosmic heavyweights such as: Adam Warlock, Drax the Destroyer and...Captain Mar-Vell

Some have theorized it's the Korbinites (Beta Ray Bill's people), the Sons of Muspell (who attacked Earth during the Surtur Saga of Simonson's Thor run), and the Badoon.

I'm going with the Annihilation Wave from the Negative Zone because:
    1. The Negative Zone is one of the obvious places Loki could've ended up after falling off the Bifrost Bridge.
    2. The chitin style of the army and their ships is in line with the Annihilation Wave.
    3. In all of the trailers, Loki is carrying around a staff with a big pill-looking device as a power source, which resembles the Cosmic Control Rod (save for being blue instead of yellow), the weapon of Annihilus, ruler of the Neagtive Zone.
    4. It can't be the Korbinites because they're a peaceful race and the only one that resembles how the army appears in the trailer is Beta Ray Bill, and that's after extensive modifications made to his physiology when his people made him in their protector. Plus, Beta Ray Bill has the notable ability to lift Mjolnir, which is a moment they'd be saving for Cap.
    5. It's not the Sons of Muspell because they attacked the Earth during the Surtur Saga, one of the most significant arcs of Thor's own series, so this is something undoubtedly reserved for Thor's film franchise.

Because the Cosmic Control Rod is blue instead of yellow, I'd also thought perhaps it might be the Mind Gem, which would tie into the rumored Thanos cameo. This would also explain how he gains the allegiance of an army so quickly. However, if it were the Mind Gem, Loki would simply be able to take control over the Avengers and the populace of Earth as opposed to attacking them.

If Thanos is involved, perhaps he helps Loki usurp Annihilus and, while Loki is busy getting revenge on his brother by attacking Midgard, Thanos can take the Cosmic Cube while everyone is fighting off the invasion.
It could be the Annihilation wave, but what Loki is wielding appears to be a staff with the Tesseract/Cosmic Cube attached to it.

    EA vs Stone

My SS/EA is, far and away, my most fun character to play. It's got great tools, as has been noted, and if it's a little weak to defense debuffs, well, there had to be something.

Used to be, when someone would argue that /EA was great with IOs, there would be those who jumped in and said something to the effect of, "Yeah, but if you made the same investment with a different secondary, it'd be that much better!"

The same logic kind of applies here. Getting 70% global recharge on a stoner means that you're back to having no penalty. Getting 70% global recharge with any other secondary means that you now have the equivalent of perma-hasten.

That being said, I'm from the weird school that doesn't believe stoners should live in granite. We have to keep Rooted on, sure, what with it being our mez protection. But granite flat-out isn't needed in most content, and particularly for a brute, you don't want something that reduces your damage output right off the bat. Yeah, if you're in granite, you'll almost never die. (Unless you're going up against psi-users. I love the "WTF?" moment when a granite tank teleports up to the psi AV in the STF and faceplants in two seconds...) You'll also provide way less damage to the team's cause. The team is only as fast as its slowest member. Personally? I hate being That Guy.

Of course, I also don't think the movement debuff is particularly meaningful once people get used to the shift+lbutton teleport bind. If somebody gets to a spawn before I do on my stoners, they went to the wrong spawn.

It comes down to a playstyle choice. Having done both (over a thousand hours on the stone tank, over 2,000 on the /ea brute) I know that /EA fits my playstyle better, so that's what I'd recommend.
You are quite right in that granite isn't needed for everything, I also maintain S/L cap with rock armor and my run bonus from IO is enough to negate rooted's penalty on its own so with rock armor plus rooted my only penalty is can't jump or fly but that is easily bypassed.

My SS/EA brute is sitting at 49 as I wrap up some details on some other alts, then I'll get that alt powered up to 50 and incarnated.
