even though that should be obvious.

It all sounds good, except that Whedon is going his predictable route and killing off a popular character. Months ago, there was a thread here where someone said "It would be just like him to kill off (this character), because fans like (this character)."

I didn't read the entire thing word-for-word, so perhaps there is a comic book resurrection in there, but I didn't see it. This alone is enough to really turn me off the movie, because it is entirely unnecessary and totally predictable.

Edit to add: The after-credits scene really doesn't go with Whedon's stated desire to make a sequel "smaller scale, more intimate and personal".
Well the alleged character death may be what's needed to get them overcome their egos and team up.

As to the after credits scene not matching Whedon's desires for a sequel, there two things to remember:

    1. Whedon may not be the one to direct the sequel, even if he is contracted already for it things can change.

    2. The studio could well have demanded the character reported to be shown in the credits be in the credits whether Whedon wanted it or not. Remember it was studio people that crammed Venom down Sam Rami's throat for Spiderman 3......
  2. Things that I would alter,

    1. KB becomes KD, or else remove KB from human form powers

    2. change the forms so that they act as buffs but let human form powers be used when transformed. Squid buffs recharge and damage, Dwarf retains teleport and taunt and acts as a break free when held or stunned in human form, plus if buffs damage to all powers.

    3. If suggestion #2 cannot be done, then how about at L39 and above instead of 3 slots for our powers when we level we get four? I foresee PB and WS benefiting from that

    4. Toggle Suppression, or better yet just don't disable pool powers when transformed. Let them function normally. I really can't see a PB or WS becoming "overamped" if this were to be done.
  3. The Avengers movie book was released/leaked at least in part awhile ago. A previous thread of mine had some links to it and what was shown in the leaked book pretty much matches up with what I just read.

Also I am DELIGHTED to see that my prediction for the credits and bonus scene appears to be correct

Asteroid mining will be important to us someday - we simply have like 20 or 30 other things we need to accomplish first before we worry about collecting extraterrestrial raw materials on an industrial level.
I can imagine options 1 and 3 happening before the others would. Then probably #4 and then a starbase/space station.

Hm, once we finally get a moon base developed, should we call it Moonbase Alpha?

Oh I don't expect 500 tons to be a planet buster, but then again it is not always the size to worry about so much as point of impact.

A meteor landing in the sea or a deserted area is one thing....a major city is something else.
  6. If memory serves it was on the DVD of RCSW3 when they were talking in the extras about somethings that didn't make it into the show, they showed an animated sketch parodying Han about to be frozen in carbonite.

Leia tells him that she loves him, he gives his usual response. Then she says "AND I'M PREGNANT!" Han's eyes widen and then he voluntarily JUMPS into the carbon pit.

That would have been hilarious if they had used it in the show

As long as it doesn't explode and big fragments come our way

Seriously though, space mining will be a necessity one day. Of course we need to have the tech also.

I hear ya, Memphis. The Veats for me have been the least fun of the AT's. Conversely I quite enjoy playing any of my six khelds. (3 of each)

    Mileage varies.
  9. I like the escalator skit in RCSW3

    "Stormtrooper.......Stormtrooper.......Stormtroope r.......Stormtrooper"

  10. Looks like they just updated Mids for staff fighting, downloading now

Would you rather have Rob Liefeld artwork? This new screen isn't that bad.
  12. This is a nice change, now if we can only use all pool powers when transformed like tough, weave, combat jump, maneuvers.....etc

Well despite this, I do hope the heirs and DC come to an amicable settlement for both sides.

In spite of stuff like this, most attorneys are good, honest folk. But when there is enough money on the line, the questionable ones show up.
My lawyer relatives would agree with this. Although I also am reminded of the scene Blade 2 when Blade shakes hands with the assistant to the head vampire, sees the glyph on the guys hand and says "You're human" and his response, "Barely, I'm a lawyer."

Also they all pretty much bust a gut laughing when they talk about Jack Thompson......
  15. Titan Weapon plus Mecha Armor = it's a mobile suit.....no! IT's A GUNDAM!

    Gundams are on Earth!.......Roger that!

Strictly speaking we've only had Seacrest, Dick Clark really should NOT have tried to return to return to host the new year celebrations, etc. after that stroke. I don't blame him for trying and I do respect his tenacity, but he still should have just stayed back, tried to rehabilitate and stay retired.

Yes..I am hoping for that scene..I will totally mark out like a 10 year old for John Cena if they do it. I will mark twice as hard if they say the enchantment while Cap Picks it up..
I do hope that occurs. Cap is supposed to inspire and lead others, and while THOR is down or busy if Cap were to pick up the hammer I can see the others feeling inspired to follow him into battle. Granted Cap doesn't need the hammer to inspire and lead, but for a mortal to be judged worthy by the "gods" is nothing to laugh at.

Well based on other trailers/clips, I am confident that Captain America will break up the Iron Man/THOR fight and that THOR as we've seen in quick trailer scene will leap at Cap and the shield and hammer shall collide.

Also there are some sites posting rumors, please note these are rumors only, that after the credits at the end we get a glimpse of the villain for Avengers 2......THANOS. Again, rumor only.
  22. Nick Fury having a chat with Loki, and Iron Man vs. Thor

Thor blasts Iron Man with lightning and JARVIS tells Tony, "power at 400% capacity". Tony's response "How about that?"
  23. So how many Gambit clones have been created so far now that staff fighting is out?
